Part of a series titled 'Celebrations in My World'. Large font size as well as numerous illustrations and captions make this book appealing to read. The table of contents, index, and glossary are included. An assessment quiz at the end of the book aids in reading/listening comprehension. A series worth considering for updating holiday collections.

Passive voice often is exploited by authors to redeem the irredeemable, and that is what I experienced while reading this book.

Why would anyone ever put an illustration that shows enslaved people smiling?

The factual information in the book was very useful, but I read critically and I rate according to a book in its entirety.
