Ted Stetson was born in Brooklyn and attended Seton Hall and Hofstra. After being honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps he graduated from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. He lives in Oregon with his wife and son.
While this was a cute Christmas short story, it had two profanities, bad grammar, too much telling (rather than showing), and several inconsistencies. I feel like this author has great potential, and if the language and grammar are cleaned up, I'd like to try more of his stories.
A story of love many of us wish we had with that one we lost. The one that treated us right but got away.
There's not much to describe because it was so short, but it made me smile.
It jumped quite a bit and had a little "confusing" part of whether she was still in the car or at home because it didn't mention her making it home. It sped through the story but I still liked it.
It told kind of like a person would summarize how they reunited with their old flame or new flame.
Lovely story. I wish it were longer. Joanne's tire blows and she's getting out to change it when a gas station truck stops to help. It's David, her old high school flame, who she had thought moved on when he never wrote after going to college. She finds out different and doesn't want this chance to slip by even many years later. I loved this story. I'm planning on reading more of this author's works.
An uplifting little short story telling the tale of Joanne, a lonely lady whose car breaks down at the side of the road and who is rescued by an old flame whom she still loves. Can a chance encounter actually be "something"? Is this her second chance of getting the man she loves this time? After all these years does he even remember her or feel the same? A lovely little "quickie" read great for a spare moment and just want a short one sitting story.
This is a very enjoyable short story about two childhood sweethearts, who fate conspire against, and then one night, fate alters its path and brings them to each other again.....
Lovely descriptive writing, very engaging, and easy to read. Warms the cockles of your heart, ideal for the impending winter nights!
For such a short story, this was so beutifully written. It was very heart warming.Especially the part where the guy named his 2 daughters after the women he loved years and years before. You have to read it to understand it.it was a good little story.I would like to have read it as a bigger book and that way we could have it for our Library for the patrons to read.
I think yes. :) It's very short, so I don't even know if this will count in my number read, but there is another book he wrote---> SOMETHING: THE BOOK that will make everything clear for those of us that got just enough to spark our interest. ;)
A short story so charmingly simple that it sends goose bumps up you your arms. For all of us who occasionally wonder about a long list love this is a soothing nectar.
This is part of my current experiment in randomly downloading kindle freebies and trying (emphasis on T-R-Y-I-N-G, here) to read them. Only thing to say about this one: This is bad bad bad bad bad writing. Period.
This is a short sweet story. I think everyone can relate to a love lost then found. Well written in great detail. I felt the emotional connection between the characters.
At first I thought I didn't like this story because I was unused to short stories (and this one is certainly short - it took me all of 5 minutes to finish.) However, after reading some more free short stories, I realised that my problem was actually specific to this book.
The characters were very undefined and I didn't feel any connection with them, the plot itself was too cliche and predictable and the writing style was, to be honest, poor. I think if this book had been padded out a little more, with some depth and a bit more flesh to the plot to make it less cliched then it could make for a better read but it feels very halfhearted as it is at the moment.
As you are now being expected to pay money for it I would say 'Avoid' - it definitely isn't worth it!
Something, by Ted Stetson, author is a Christmas story for a second chance for a couple after years being apart. They had a summer before college together dancing and having picnics but she didn't hear from him when he went off to college. Both had families, she was a widow and he was divorced and she took a chance to go back to see him after a chance encounter. He put on music for them to dance and both were happy to reunite. A nice short story! I love happy endings.
This is just a short story about love. If you are in the mood for romance and a meaningful read that makes you feel good this is a great choice. It is decent enough for all ages. I thought the ending was a bit abrupt. But I liked it otherwise.
This is a very roughly written short story about two people who were in love in High School but separated by circumstances. Thirty years later they meet, by accident, and realise they are still in love.
In principle the idea of the story is lovely but..........OMG!! The writing doesn't flow, the sentences are short and stilted and the whole thing has a very immature feel to it. This is clearly a self published piece of work and more and more I'm beginning to feel short changed as a reader that work of this low standard is available on a trusted site such as Amazon.
I love my Kindle I can fit hundreds of books on it and carry them with me easily wherever I go. Why is it that with the invention of E-Books we now have to be subjected to illiterate people selling us their work?
This was a really short easy to read style novella that I really liked, due to its style and third person perspective. Also, I liked that despite being such a short book, it was so powerful. It makes you laugh and feel heartache in just a few words, showing the true talent of this author in a show case that can only be described as traditional British romance. It was the first book I read on my new kindle white page and I cannot wait to look up some of his new books. I have found that of the free books available on the kindle, there are many books I am really enjoying but would otherwise not read. I really do recommend them, along with all the silly ones like sense and sensibility and squids or Pride, prejudice and zombies.
