Laura “Lore” Denham’s exceptional birth has both blessed and cursed her with extraordinary abilities. As the half-divine daughter of the Greek god of Apollo her musical ability is unparalleled. She’s landed her dream job as the principle flutist for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. But the darker side of her power is that she can both heal and kill with a touch. In exchange for these abilities she’s vowed to keep the oblivious masses safe from the things that go bump in the night.
In the third book in the Lore series, a secret organization named Legion is determined to cause trouble for Laura and the Underground. In between stopping public displays of magic and fighting for her life from a mob of unhappy Underground denizens, Laura must come to terms with her best friend’s impending marriage to a beautiful young Englishwoman as well as a shocking turn in her demigod guide’s behavior and her girlfriend’s violent reaction to it. Along the way she strikes up a partnership with the city’s vampire ruler, Iric de Faoite, to help track this mysterious group bent on destroying her. But his attention just might destroy her peace of mind.
Anya Breton is a web monkey with an obsession for nail polish and rubber chickens. Her fears include Peeps and people who hate clowns. Her genres include erotic romance, urban fantasy, and young adult--all with a little quirk. She lives in the Midwest where land is cheap and corn is cheaper.
Really enjoying the story line. Great series for the most part...I'm having a few issues with Lore's decisions and choices being based on "sexual manipulations". It just seems extremely weak for the heroine to be so often motivated by sex. 3 1/2 stars.
