This book gave me a much better understanding of how the Fed really impacts the markets. I read it last year, but I find myself going back to it again and again as people keep talking about our current financial crisis.

A lot of what people think the Fed controls directly or indirectly is bollocks. That's why no one knows what to do with the $700B - because the government does not really have that much control beyond interest rates and regulatory structures.

Anyway, I find it really helpful!

Very instructive yet boring. Ideal as a first step into the inner workings. A must re-read if I ever try to get a job there :)
