Gazing at a nighttime sky full of stars is a powerful invitation to the imagination. Stars and Planets takes readers out for an exploration of the galaxy beyond Earth's atmosphere. Starting with what we see and moving outward to the Moon, the nearby planets, what it is like to travel and live in space, and space exploration beyond where humans can travel, young readers can explore the book sequentially, or pick a theme and follow the links through the book. From frozen rocky moons to awesome gas giants and the millions of stars in the universe, this is an immersive adventure that's sure to inspire young readers to think differently about the nighttime sky.

Miss 3 has lots of questions about the Moon. We looked at the moon phases information in the Explorers: Stars and Planets book and we watched a number of videos about the moon and solar system on You Tube. She also had fun naming all the planets in the solar system in the book. Her favourite moon videos were from the National Science Teachers Assoc. and BrainPOP UK:
