Part of the incredible and amazing 1960s LIFE [as in "Life" magazine] SCIENCE LIBRARY, this book, while over 40 years old and surely hopelessly outdated in many scientific ways, is, like the whole LIFE SCIENCE LIBRARY, a great resource of cool old pictures and simple introductory explanations of various scientific concepts.

This book is particularly interesting for its investigations into psychoanalysis, hypnosis and drugs, among other mind-related issues.
