My name is Rachel Clancy. Forty-six years ago, life as humanity understood it ended. Armageddon. Well, that’s what we call it, anyway. What other term works as well to describe the day the Vampires and Werewolves slaughtered nearly all of humanity?

When Rachel Clancy turned sixteen, she inadvertently changed the lives of everyone around her. Now, six months later she has to figure out how to live with what has happened.

Sent back into the wilderness—this time with a new love—she will find herself face-to-face with two people she never thought to see again: the boy she thought she loved and the man who wanted to destroy her since birth. If Rachel can learn what drives her forward, there may be a chance for everyone to start again. If she fails, all is lost.

I still love this series! Awesome book!

In the last book, we learned Jason was a jerk for leaving Rachel, we also learned that Chad and Deacon had a thing for Rachel, even though her heart was broken, they both decided to keep a close eye on her.

This book takes place 6 months later - Rachel still gets a lump in her chest whenever she thinks of Jason, but she is starting to move on. She is finding herself drawn to Deacon's witty sense of humor, and Chad’s sense of security . She knows her life with a werewolf could never be ...

It starts out as Rachel gets her "feeling" of the underground vampires when they dig themselves right up to the edge of the Underground Geneses - she tells Patrick and Keith.

Because Chad is the only one who knows how the car operates, and the Liberty (back up) is clear across the country, Chad is appointed to go ask for help before the Vampires dig through the wall. And because Rachel can sense the Vampires before they're right on you to attack, she goes with him.

Once they're driving, they get attacked by a group of Vampire Worshiping Humans - Yikes! Like life isn't complicated enough for this group of Warriors!

Chad and Rachel are kidnapped and brought to their laire where they are to be sacrificed. Once they enter the stage to be killed, Rachel spots them... 15 werewolves... not just any werewolves .... She recognized 3 of them right off... Jason, Luna and Autumn.

Emotions came flooding into her and she had no idea what to do -

A lot goes on in this book for Rachel. It seems the poor girl doesn't seem to catch a break at all anymore.

Once she lets her guard down and allows herself to Love someone other than Jason, Jason pops back in the picture with a vaid excuse for leaving her sitting in the snow 6 months ago - but she struggles to forgive him.

Rachel takes the weight of the world on her shoulders, She feels like every time someone gets hurt, or dies, it's her fault, because she's not making the brightest decision. But she has to face the fact that SHE is not the one in charge of the evil Werewolves, and SHE is not in charge of the Vampires - she struggles with learning who she is and trying to make decisions that can be positive for everyone.

The book leaves off with a great set up for her next book. I am thinking that book will be the final of the series (hope I'm wrong though :)

Driven, the second book in Rebecca Royce's Warrior series returns the reader to Rachel Clancy and her life living as a teenager 47 years after Armageddon. It's 6 months after Jason left her and broke her heart, she's harder now, but it seems that Chad and Deacon are managing to break through her walls a little. When a startling discovery is made Chad and Rachel are sent on a mission to recruit help from another habitat and the story gets underway.

This is one of the most absorbing series I have ever read. The characters are genuine, the relationships are authentic. Rachel is an awesome lead female. She's perfectly flawed. She's not the best fighter or the best strategist. She's not the quickest, the strongest or the smartest. She's just Rachel. She's a blend of hormonal teen and seasoned warrior. She's caring, thoughtful, loyal; she is quick thinking, brave, and more selfless than she gives herself credit for. And she loves with every ounce of her being. She's special. The cast of characters that she is surrounded by all add so much to the story. Keith and Tiffani are the perfect example of love still existing when the world has ended. The Lyon's are her family, even though I don't think she fully realizes her importance to them. Deacon is a witty scoundrel and Chad is amazing. And of course Isaac Icahn is one of the best villians ever. He's cruel and ruthless, yet brilliant. It makes him formidable.

Once Rachel and Chad set off on their mission the action is non-stop. Situations come up that they could never have imagined. Unexpected encounters take place, good and bad. More than one capture occurs and new friends are made. Danger is everywhere and so is love. And with love comes heartbreak. This is not an easy world.

Driven is so well written. It's character driven that's still action packed. It's addictive. This one was packed with so much emotion, I was nearly overwhelmed. So much pain, yet at the end, there is hope and a spark of a new life, a better world. It's time to change the course of history once again. "My name is Rachel Clancy. I have a destiny. And when I've completed it, the ones who harmed us will have paid for their crimes." I LOVE this girl. I can't wait for the next book. She has so much fight in her. Her fight is fueled by her anger and pain, but ultimately by her love. I expect great things from her in the next book.

Rachel Clancy is back!

We've moved on 6 months from book 1 and the Warriors are now living on the surface. Rachel is once again getting her "spidey-senses" in a bunch and the Elder Warriors decide to send her on a Mission to another habitat to seek help.

Aiding her on this mission is the lovable Chad. Now that his crush on Rachel is out in the open and she has had some time to get over Jason, the werewolf who abandoned her, he has set his sights on wooing the young warrior. But when their mission goes awry they are abducted by some new foes and we learn that they are not the only captives - Jason is here too!!

But when tragedy strikes will Rachael be left reeling again? Will she make it back to genesis with help?

Rachel is a great lead. She is fickle like most teenagers and she does tend to bounce back from her romantic entanglements just a little bit too fast but when love strikes you can't ignore it. She is average in every way but still seems to come out on top. I loved her internal disgust when she realises what Tia wants to do with her life! But keep the hankies at the ready cos there are sad, poignant moments and I had a few tears escape.

Deacon is a great 3rd wheel to any relationship Rachel finds herself in and I'm rooting for him to find someone to love - eventually!

I absolutely loved reading the second novel in the Warrior series. It's been six months since she turned sixteen, went to the surface to die, fell in love, found a major conspiracy and then had her heart bresk and left in the snow.

Things are different now that people are living aboveground now. Trying to live despite Dr Ichan's utter and absolute betrayal. But worse things are coming and thepeople of Genesis are going to need help. And once again Rachel is being sent off. But not alone because she will have Chad with her, who has been in love with her for years and spent the last six months trying to convince her to unfreeze her heart after it being stomped on by Jason the wolf.

Rachel is still a teenager, has hormones and acts a little like a teenager but she is remarkably grown up. She is a Warrior and she is full of so much fight, even when the odds are against her. Love it and i can't wait to see what else Rachel has in store for her. I have a feeling some not so great things. But i think she will handle it

My name is Rachel Clancy. I have a destiny. And when I've completed it, the ones who harmed us will have paid for their crimes.

I was intrigued by a series that included some of my favorite elements: vampires, werewolves, dystopian, PNR. Rebecca Royce has managed to bring this mixture together & create a great read!

Often when reading the second book in a series, I find myself bored. That was not the case with this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, Initiation, and this book was even better!

Love, hate, betrayal, grief, loss... all of these emotions and more are found in this book. Even though some of my favorite characters died, this just added to the emotional impact.

I look forward to continuing this series. Ms. Royce has a creative imagination and manages to really draw the reader into the world she has created. I was given a copy of this book and chose to review it.

My obsession with this series continues! Reading Book 2 in the series has certainly done nothing to dampen my excitement over this series. It has just increased it ten fold. I'm not normally much into young adult books, but this series is so sophisticated and complex, I just can't help but love it. Authentic, engaging, and passionate, these characters just jump right off the page. They completely draw you into the story and make you believe in this extraordinary post-Armageddon world Rebecca Royce has so seamlessly created for us. This book is innovative and insightful, impassioned and creative, intriguing and exciting, and heartwarming yet heartbreaking. This book really gets to you, touching you as only truly prolific work can. I would highly recommend this book/series to anyone looking for a completely enthralling and compelling read.

Omg!! Book two continues where book one left off, and let me tell you it is non stop action and adventure all the way through. Rachel chancy is sent to get to liberty fir help, but that is a long way away and the world is teaming with undead and werewolves

I don't want to day too much in case I inadvertently leave spoilers!! I will say that this book is full of action and excitement and twists I did not see coming

I urge you to read this continuation of the series, it is a real page turner and I loved it

Another great story from this very talented and creative author. This book is filled with all that is intriguing and captivating in the paranormal world. It was entertaining and exciting, and filled with all sorts of emotions. The author has created a world that draws you in with the detailed writing and visualisations for the reader. Every scene is captured perfectly, and the storyline is well balanced and flows smoothly. A very enjoyable read.

I have so enjoyed reading this series can not wait till book 3 so much going on, I love how there so much unsure about who is in love with Rachel and how bad ass she is, she really left us hanging with Chad is he really died or not at least that what going on in my mind..lol
the only thing that brother in is here lack of faith in the man that are in her life to take care of themselves she seems to think she need to save everyone and that they can't take care of themselves. but that is the only real fault I can find...can not wait till book 3 I am hooked.

An action filled emotional roller coaster ride! Rebecca never fails to outdo her last book. Her characters are so well written. Ones that I already disliked, I thoroughly loathe now. Of course, there are others that I loved, doubted, and loved again. Emotions are all over the place in this one along with the action and adventures that have Rachel striving to get a hold on herself in so many ways. While my heart breaks for her, I am looking forward to see what she does next to keep moving forward.

I feel undecided about this series. Maybe it is the YA part that confuses me, i.e. the heroine is too young and naive for my liking but something is off. It is stressed how in this dystopian universe the teenagers do not get to be just that and have to grow up quickly, especially taking into account her personal experiences, but it does not feel that way. I am also annoyed with Rachel relationship wise as she falls in love too quickly. I will keep reading just to see how this ends but am not really feeling it.

Fence Wobbling

This is the second book in this series, in my review of the first I stated my worries but also stated I wanted to see if the FMC stayed true to her age group. I have to say, again, she is only 16 and I understand she has grown up in a world totally different to today. Having said that Miss Royce has made her able to cope/do things a ‘normal’ 16 yo wouldn’t even begin to know, but not in an over the top way, Rachel is still true to her age group within the circumstances and FOR ME, this makes this a great story to follow, so Subversive, here I come.

Book two Done, and I loved it! It's hard to compare this with book one as it continues from the First one, but at the same time I feel book one was slightly better. But I will recomend you to buy this one and continue the series; I love this series so far and I love this authors way of Writing!

I really enjoyed the fist book but this once was just so predictable and a bit annoying! Rachel has gone from kickass to whinging about her latest boyfriend drama although Chad didn’t last long and the love was instant. I just really struggled! Buy hey I’m not one to give up just yet.

She was left. She is 16. Obviously she’d fall in love again. But this poor girl! She’s been through hell and back at the sweet age of 16. I’m sad for her.

This series is actually pretty good! I wasn’t sure what to think about it. But, it is pretty good.

I keep thinking of Chad though :(

So much lost potential.
I hate how everyone is automatically in love with MC. There's no character development. How she can go from one 'love' to another in a heartbeat proves she's still a child.

This was a good followup in the Warrior Book series, I loved the first book! The end of Initiation left me heartbroken with Jason being out of the picture and Rachel being so distraught. Their romance kind of just stopped dead in it's tracks, and I was dying to see them back together!! I tore right into Driven hoping to see so much more of them in the midst of the chaos their world was in, but it wasn't at all what I expected...

Driven starts out with Rachel back to living at Genesis, only now they've built a tent camp Upwards thanks to the vampires finding their way underground with the humans. The warriors are constantly on alert with the increased attacks, and they know they will need more help if they're going to survive. Rachel, still getting over her heartbreak while Deacon and Chad both try to win her heart, is determined to help keep the vampires away from their people. She and Chad are sent back into the wilderness on a mission to visit another establishment, in the hopes that they can get help in their own fight. Along the way, Rachel finally admits her feelings for Chad and allows herself to start moving on with him, not knowing what lies ahead for them once they reach Liberty. Before they make it there, they stumble across something they never expected, and they are captured by vampire-worshipping humans. Just when she thinks it couldn't get any worse, Rachel sees the boy who stole her heart is also one of their victims, and she is forced to decide his and his family's fate for them. She can save them, but what will it do to her heart when she has to face Jason?

There are a lot of twists in Driven, and secrets are revealed about the the vampires and the evil werewolves. Rachel doesn't catch a break throughout the entire story, there are constantly enemies around her and difficult decisions to face. None of the humans are safe, and Rachel is getting fed up with always being on the defensive. She's determined to find a way to stop the evil that is taking over, but every path she takes seems to lead to another dead end.

I was disappointed again that more detail wasn't put into the fight scenes, as there were plenty of them. I think some of the unnecessary and ill-fitting 'Rachel love' coming from every male she comes across should have been cut out so that we could get more of what we really needed in the details. There were way too many guys falling all over themselves for her (and she's STILL thinking to herself how unattractive she is, which got on my nerves), it got to the point where it was eye-roll inducing. A love triangle was enough, we didn't need the extra 3 or 4 guys swooning or admitting they were "turned on" by her.

I have to admit, I was so disappointed and irritated that Jason was missing from so much of this story. I absolutely loved his character, with his animalistic possessive love for Rachel consuming so much of the emotion in the story in Initiation. When he was removed from the equation, I was like a stubborn child, stomping my feet and refusing to accept anyone replacing him. So, the first half of the book was challenging to read! When we finally learn why Jason hadn't waited for Rachel all those months ago, it suddenly all makes sense but Rachel refuses to forgive him. After all, she's just professed her love to Chad and he's been there for her all along. But a series of events throws them back together, and Jason is determined to prove to Rachel that she's still his mate (*sigh, swoon*). Will she be able to forgive him and let him back in her heart, or is the hold that Chad has on her too strong?

I won't give away the ending because there are some pretty big twists involved, but there are some serious game changers that will take things in a completely different direction in the next book. I like the way Royce handled the love triangle, I think it made sense and it will hopefully clear up some of the "too many love interests" issues for the rest of the series. Hopefully, because I can't wait to see a LOT more of Rachel and Jason!!

I was so excited I didn't have to wait long to read this book!
 description

I gotta say (if I didn't already before), that I love the lead character! Rachel is the eye of a storm. She can remain calm and THINKING when there is chaos all around. I know she’s still a teenager, but she’s got a good head on her shoulders. She’s been trained as a Warrior, so I completely respect the fact that Rebecca wrote Rachel to make decisions the way a fighter would, but that in no means makes her less feminine nor emotionless. She is still exploring love, that infinite conundrum that it is, but Rachel’s no annoying TSTL kind of girl.
So many things happened in this book, more shocks and twists came to light, I was flabbergasted!
Such a wide range of emotions were explored, I'm glad Rebecca forced all of them upon me. In no particular order:

Worry - What the heck is Rebecca Royce doing to my emotions?
 description

While wondering that, I couldn't help laughing at all the humorous stuff going on.
 description

At the end was one last agonizing task she had to complete, it absolutely destroyed me. I seriously felt the Grim Reaper slice away at my soul in that moment. Nothing stirred, time stood acutely still for me. My breath wouldn't come, my eyes couldn't shut. I could feel Rachel's strength and her sorrow. It was that powerful!
 description

As I read the last pages of the book, I could only yearn for book 3, Subversive. Rachel is an endearing badass heroine with plenty of common sense that you'll want to adopt as your bff. This series is a must read for YA, paranormal, humor, action/adventure, and romance. One click the books today!

I received this book to read for an honest review after reading the 1st book in the series.

It picks up 6mths after the last book and Rachel is trying to pick her broken heart up after feeling abandoned by Jason but she had Deacon and Chad competing for her affections.

Rachel's in built extended vampire alert is helpful for greater warnings and when I goes off letting them know that the vampires are underground next to the underground habitat they've lived in for 47 years they decide to send Chad and Rachel to another habitat Liberty to ask for help and to tell them what has gone on.

Rachel is happy to go with Chad as their relationship has been blossoming and she realises she has fallen for him and wants to give them a chance.

Unsurprisingly they are attacked on their journey and taken by some humans who have a deal with the vampires to keep hem safe. They aren't the only ones taken as Rachel comes face tot face with Jason and half his pack also taken for sacrifice. After rescuing them she has it out with a surprised Jason who has his world rocked realising his dad had lied or him for 6mths and then his heart broken when he realises Rachel is with Chad.

Chad and Rachel are surrounded by vampires and she makes a deal for her to go with them to save Chad life, she is taken to her nemesis and ex-leader and is thrown into the cages to become vampire food. She finds herself with 3 warriors for Liberty habitat that they were heading towards, Liberty was wiped out totally 6mths previously so there will be no help coming from that direction.

After escaping the cages they are rescued by Chad who couldn't leave her behind but they are trapped during their escape by the facility exploding. Rachel is saved by Jason and believes that Chad and the others were killed. He escorts her back home to tell chads parents of their loss and the loss of Liberty

She arrives home to find devastation they had been attacked by the vampires whilst she was gone and lost a lot of people. They are attacked by vampires and her heart is broken when she sees Chad sent after her as a vampire. She is thrown and blames herself. They decide that they can't keep being defensive, they need to be proactive and take the fight to their previous leader. Before they can act the camp is attacked by werewolves and in the midst of battle Jason's pack of werewolves come to their aid showing they aren't all monsters.

I'm excited to read the 3rd series to see what happens when they fight back

I'm feeling so ambivalent about this book and this series. The storyline itself is really interesting and I'm curious to see where it goes and how it ends and how everything is connected - Looking forward into the series, it sounds as if things go sideways for Rachel and Jason (does he become her enemy? If so, why and how?), and that yet another "destined" suitor comes forth (Seriously, how many guys are going to be fighting over Rachel?). On the other hand, I find aspects of the writing severely lacking. So much so that I may very well demote the first book in the series from its current position on the GoodStuffs shelf. The author tells us how Rachel feels about , but we don't ever feel it from her. There is nothing visceral about the emotions, be it love, lust, despair, longing, loss or guilt. We, as the readers, have to be sympathetic rather than empathetic. Which is a damn shame. Because she has been shattered time and again. I mean, she . I should have been a weeping mess, and I wasn't. Not one tear. I also had a really hard time with how quickly she . I'm going to keep moving ahead with the series, but I can't guarantee that I won't be skimming the majority of the writing just to get to the end. Sad.

ENTHRALLING!!

Driven-The Warrior-Book 2- An enthralling story of adventure and romance. I adore, series, you get acquainted with all the amazing characters, and the characters in this series, are sultry, powerful, and full of surprises....

This story features Rachel Clancy a clever, audacious, 16 year old genetically born Warrior; Jason, a strapping wolf-shifter, Deacon, a gorgeous Warrior and the voice of reason, Chad, a buffed Warrior; all crave Rachel's affection.

What you'll find in this story; a cast of awe-inspiring and engaging characters, spectacular story-line, potent and fascinating scene descriptions, impressive banter, pent-up rage, gut-wrenching moments, life threatening incidents, life saving incidents, shocking incidents, camaraderie, family issues, werewolves, vampires, emotions sky-rocket, gripping suspense, romance, and a conclusion that leaves you eagerly awaiting the answers you desire.

A DEVASTATING INCIDENT ALTERS THE LIVES OF MANY!!

SPECTACULAR fast paced well written read by a genuinely creative author. This was a slumber-stealer for me; a fantastic, emotional, exhilarating read from beginning to end. The characters are convincing and certainly praise-worthy. Rachel faces many unsuspected challenges, but her stouthearted and intelligent persona certainly make her a valiant heroine and worthy leader. I anxiously await the next book in this series. If you dote on paranormal fantasy this is an excellent choice for your library. {I was given a copy of this e-book for a completely truthful review}. In the world of paranormal fantasy the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservations I highly recommend this book and series.

Driven
The Warrior Book2
By Rebecca Royce
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I feel this is a gift for me to read and review. I am a Fan of Rebecca Royce all of her books I have read have been Keepers the kind I intend to read over and over. They will be a classic in their genre. This is a very Spectacular series. The storyline is AWESOME, ENGAGING, HEART STOPPING and so FASCINATING you can't stop turning the pages, The characters are mind blowing, exciting, rip- roaring action fighters, thrilling scene descriptions and this just the second book!! This series has something for everyone. I know a few readers may not trust reviews but I say you should read them and write your own. Ms Royce is a DAZZLING author who has a awesome imagination she uses words to weave FANTASTIC STORIES and everyone is well written.

Driven-The Warrior-Book 2 is the continuing SPECTACULAR story of Rachel's adventures and romance. She is 16 and has been a warrior for six months and in this story Chad is a straight forward brave warrior who has Rachel's affection. Jason a wolf-shifter broke her young heart in book 1 and Deacon is a gorgeous guy who Rachel rescued is now a warrrior and he thinks he is in love with Rachel but she considers him a friend and a voice of reason. Rachel is very loyal to her friend Tia and she refuse to leave before she fights for the first time. Chad and Rachel must face a few challenges. Of course there is a devastating occurrence that will change their lives!!! But Rachel will become fearless and worthy leader.

This book is a awe-inspiring addition to book 1. Book 2 will further acquainted you with amazing characters that are powerful with lots of surprises!

I highly recommend this book2 and the entire series!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

It is 6 months after Jason left Rachel and she is still hurting. She is trying to pick up the pieces of her heart and finds that she is attracted to Chad. But her vampire senses can tell that the vampires are tunneling into their compound. The decision is made to send Rachel and Chad to another facility, Liberty to call for help. On their way, both are captured by vampire loving humans. While waiting to be sacrificed, Rachel notices three werewolves with them and realizes that one is Jason. But there is no time to hash out their differences when she also realizes that there are warriors from Liberty and learns that the compound fell six months prior. The group escapes but get back to the compound and find that vampires and werewolves are inside and there is a huge loss of human lives.

I really enjoyed reading Initiation but Driven blows it out of the water. There is a great story with lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing. Rachel has come a long way since we first met her in Initiation but she still blames herself for the loss of any life. I admit that I was pissed at Jason but when you hear his side you can kind of sort of understand.

If you like apocalyptic/dystopia stories with vampires and werewolves this is the series for you. I am super excited to see what happens next in Subversive.

I received Driven for free from Candid Book Reviews in exchange for an honest review.

In this one I must say I started it with anticipation not knowing what to expect next because of this being so different that in itself is refreshing. Rachel and others are now at that point where it is six months later with things not the same anymore but preparing for what is coming the best they can. She finally gets her tattoo which is significant because of what it is. Her and Chad will also be put on a mission going for some help but not until after his sister's turn at her coming of age. She will on this discover she can love more than one but one thing after another you wonder how much more can she survive? One will exit and one will enter again in her life that will first stab at raw wounds but then healing might just start to take place. Unlikely help for them all will come when a attack is large with one member in that party bringing new life to them all. Raw events with raw emotions with one also being used as a pawn that they thought was gone. Tired though of being a game a different kind of action will be learned and from a surprising source. No way could you become stagnate in the reading of this because of all that goes down with it being unusual also. Novels like this make reading so rewarding and satisfying that cause you to look forward to the next time you can pick one up.

Rebecca, honestly! Why do you have to be so ruthless? You know what I'm talking about!

Another strong installment in the series. It's not as intense as the first one, and I do believe Rachel is much more angsty in this book, but the plot is fast-paced and gripping.

This time Rachel has to go on a journey with Chad to Liberty where they will have to ask for reinforcements to protect Genesis from the imminent underground invasion.

The journey as you can guess doesn't go as planned and soon the couple will have to run for their lives, find how complicated their new world is and make some tough sacrifices.

I still find Rachel's mixture of naivete and practical ruthlessness very refreshing. She is not sure of herself and of what she is doing, but her reasoning is that nobody else is doing what needs to be done, so it might as well be me.

I liked the end of book two and very much looking forward to what's going to happen next. My only complaint as always is that there is not enough world-building. There are some tantalising details, but I really would like to know more about the enemies and what happened after the Apocalypse.
