WOW! I had this book sitting in my lap and wasn't really paying attention when I opened it and--pow!--there was a big tarantula in my lap, one of it's legs brushing my stomach. Kids will love these huge pop ups!

This is a gloriously elaborate bug pop-up.

Purchase for the praying mantis alone.

Unfortunately, Parker has disassembled the scorpion. It was pretty cool, but he wanted to hold it.

Is a scorpion a bug? Maybe he was editing?

Terrifyingly HUGE pop-ups.

Sold lots of this back in my bookstore days. Got it out last week with the 3 year-old. "Mama, open it again! (squeal and run) Mama, another bug! (squeal and run). Exactly how I feel. The tarantula is the scariest. Not for the feint of heart.

This book was a huge sensation in storytime...the bugs are HUGE and pop-out at you. The poems were nice too, but the kids were making so much noise: ooohs & aaaahs, squeals & giiggles and yelling out the names of the bugs, that we really couldn't hear the story!
