Utterly original and refreshing, Auracle is a breath of fresh air with its addicting premise full of riveting turns. This was even more so in my case where I hadn't read the synopsis in ages and, therefore, had no idea what I was getting into, causing me to be shocked by the actual premise itself. It absolutely thrilled me.

Since I'm hoping you all get the same exciting experience of going in blind I won't bring up the primary plot line, but work my way around it. What I can safely tell you, is it involves astral projection - which is fascinating in of itself. I was highly satisfied by the way the world building was brought up in this novel. We not only get great detail in how Anna goes about projecting and leaving her body, but the space - or dimension - she roams when she's ethereal is solidly created with the inclusion of thought-provoking theoretical physics as part of the explanations. As a very skeptical and science minded person, I appreciate that Rosati didn't leave it exclusively magical. As the plot progresses, we get even deeper into the stretches of Anna's abilities, leaving me completely immersed in this story.

Anna's witty and sharp narration is undemanding and strikingly easy to enjoy. The addition of a strong dysfunctional family dynamic is great for character building and to give an extra layer of depth to the story. With an alcoholic father, Anna is walking on eggshells in her home - using her astral projection as a way of escape. The side characters have a lot to offer to the story as well, with maybe the exception of Seth which, for having such a substantial part, is scarcely developed. The villain - Taylor - regardless of falling victim to the short skirts and rich attitude mean girl stereotype, plays her part particularly well in this story, especially towards the ending where she gets veritably crafty. Then there is Rei...

Surrounding a unique, fast-paced, page turning plot is a largely romantic substory. Rei is your very sweet, - albeit very perfect - love interest that didn't quite make my heart flutter, but he enchanted me with his charisma and sincere nature. We get a budding romance that is both meaningful and sweet. Those who get enamoured by "boy next door" love stories will adore it!

Auracle brings something new and exciting to the overly crowded YA paranormal genre. Its suspense, humor, and dramatics dispenses an irresistible entertainment value that will undoubtedly keep you up until the early hours!

Spoilers

Seventeen year old Anna has the ability to astrally project, she has only told her best friend Rei what she can do. When Anna witness the death of a girl (Taylor) from her school she returns to her body only to find Taylor's spirit in her body.
With Rei's help she must figure out a way to get back in her body before Taylor ruins her life or anyone else's.

-The first few chapters started off promising enough, but then things got really boring - all Anna did was alternatively float around and observe things or come up with ridiculous plans to get back in her body. There were a lot of info-dumps especially in the first half of the book - I had to force myself to read through it all.
I didn't really connect to Anna's voice she was so bland and lifeless, she sounded like most other YA heroines. Frankly, I would have preferred Taylor's voice - she was spoilt and unreasonable but she was also far more entertaining.

-Anna like most YA heroines has no close female friends. She claimed she was shy but she had no problem being close friends with two guys. In her astral projection form Anna was irritating and childish - knocking cups of coffee, throwing away cigarettes and messing around with pencils - there was no need for it, it made her seem like a bratty 5 year old.
She was boring, judgmental and by the end when she got her healing powers, she was a fully fledged Mary Sue. She didn't like wearing make up, high heels and she liked to wear hoodies and baggie jeans - give me a break with this cliche. Pretty much every teenage girl I know likes to put an effort in their appearance - I hate these heroines who make a point about not being bothered by what they wear - it's such BS. It doesn't make them seem different or unique when practically every YA heroine is exactly the same.

-The 'evil' girl of course wore short skirts, low cut tops, high heels and make up. She was popular, sexually active, liked to party and was flirty. How cliched, unoriginal and disgusting for the author to depict the 'evil' girl in that way.

-Rei's character was actually likable - he was smart, capable and loyal. I did think he was a little too overprotective towards Anna - he sounded like a fussy mother sometimes. His relationship with Anna was believable, there was no dreaded insta-love since he'd been friends with Anna all his life. I did think that they were both a but dumb when it came to what they felt for each other. Bonus points for Rei being half Japanese.

-Saya, Rei's sister was annoying - I would have preferred if she had no role or a much smaller role. I don't particularly like reading about young kids because it always seems like the the author is trying too hard to make the kids appear cute.

-Anna's mum was a selfish cow - what sort of mum leaves their daughter to look after their violent alcoholic father? I did like that Anna tried to ignore her dad as much as she could - I hate it when the heroine just puts up with an unnecessary amount of BS because she's such a martyr.

I would have liked this a lot more if Taylor wasn't depicted in such an appalling way and if the book didn't give the attitude that females that have a sex life or wear tight tops, make up or short skirts were all selfish, shallow, evil women that like to destroy lives. I'm so sick of these YA books that portray females so poorly and insinuate that girls who are virgins are good, pure, worthy and innocent and girls who aren't are evil incarnate - I've had enough! Sadly I'll probably come across this disgusting attitude in another book sooner rather than later - I'm just going to have to look up more reviews before committing myself to buying YA books from new authors.

Reading AURACLE was an amazing experience for me, particularly because I was the first person on the list of the Class of 2k12 ARC Tour. I know it sounds silly, but I felt special because I'd gotten an early peek at a book that people are going to go bonkers for. I loved everything about this story. I'll start with the cover--it's magical and mysterious and just plain beautiful. The cool thing is that all the very same words--that I just rattled off--also apply to the story inside. The plot feels new. I hated putting the book down because I wanted to find out what was going to happen next. In fact, I was even clutching it on my lap at a recent dentist appointment. I took it with me everywhere, on the off chance that I would have a free minute or two to read it. The characters are real and flawed and relatable and so well done. I immediately fell in sync with Anna and fell in love with Rei. But there are other characters in the book that I have strong negative reactions to, and while their flaws are not sugar coated at all, I found empathy during the journey I took with them. In my opinion, Rosati gives a master class in "show don't tell"--all the rich detail of AURACLE's characters and setting are seamlessly woven through the story. I devoured this book, racing to the end only to find myself deliberately slowing down, hoping to stop the magic from coming to an end. Is it too soon to start wondering what Rosati will write next?

Before I start,I wanna give to Gina a huge “Thank you!” and many hugs for sending me this book. Thanks,Gina!xo

When I first read about “Auracle” on Goodreads I thought that I have to read this book because I’ll love it.And I was right.

I liked this book a lot.In the beginning it was a little boring to be honest, but interesting because it was about a girl who could astral project from her body.Besides, the friendship between Anna and Rei is the friendship that I’ve always wanted to have and I never had it,unfortunately. This two points kept me reading.

After 100 pages I was totally hooked about it.The situation turned to 1800 . On another hand,I was very sad because of what happened to Anna and because all of the situation(if you read it,you know what I am talking about) but on another hand,it was kind of funny.Yes,I know,it’s stupid to find funny something like that, but I couldn’t help myself.

I was also hooked by the action which is not in a lot of rush, but yet you hold your breath all along this book. Also, the situation it was complicated and there was always something that kept you reading.

A lot of things happened in just 298 pages. It is impressive how Gina Rosati put so many situations and things and stuff like that in just 298 pages.Congrats,Gina!Well done!

The characters are very good portraited.I liked Rei very much,he is strong, loyal,a good friend and…well,he’s lovely.Really lovely. He does everything he can for his friends. He even goes to jail.Anna is one of my favourite female character from all the books I’ve read. She is very funny, even in dramatic situations. Her relaxed language it’s great, and sometimes,in the middle of something intens, her language makes you smile. That also made the book an easy reading.

The final was unexpectable. At some point,I really thought that the things will not solve, but I was wrong. The things solve intelligently and it’s obviously that the author knows how to write with happy end.

In Auracle, the main character is Anna,a sixteen-year-old girl who can astral project from her body. She can go to a lot of places if she wants to,but without her body. She can astral project only when she’s sleeping ,because she’s leaving her body and her spirit goes everywhere she wants.Cool enough, huh? But what is one day you can get in your body and you’re stuck in world, without a body, without the possibility to move things or to speak with someone.Well, actually you can speak with everybody, but they won’t hear you,so it’s senseless.

That happened to Anna.

One day,a normal day,Anna and her best buddy,Rei were on the school.Nothing strange happened.Of course, their other best friend ,Seth,is stalked by the most popular girl in the high school,Taylor. If you ask me,Taylor it’s an asshole(sorry about the word, but she pissed me off so badly that I’d kill her right now. ).Sometimes,I was tempted to like her, because you know, she seemed just a lonely heart, who needs someone who cares about her,bla bla.But in the next second, she was the same Taylor-the-asshole.

Ok ,so in that day, nothing special happened.Anna ,Rei and Seth were best friends.Anna astral projected from her body to a beautiful place I can’t remember. And she locked in her room because of her alchoolic dad who once hitted her so hard that she broke her head. From that moment,Anna always locked herself in her room and wouldn’t go out until her mother gets home.

But in the next day, something happens.Rei told Anna about the possibility that in one of her travel, her spirit could get in a black hole or she couldn’t get back in her body.Anna doesn’t pay any attention to this.

But this is nothing compared to what happens to Seth.On their lunch,he finds out that his phone is missing and he can’t find it anywhere. Now he is sure the phone was stolen.Seth is very mad and he is worried about what his father will say and do to him.

Somehow,Anna figures out that Taylor is the one that took the phone from Seth. After that,Seth finds a letter on his locker saying that he’ll get back his phone at fall in that evening.Seth is releaved and he is going to go to the fall.Anna tells him that Taylor took his phone and Seth is pissed off.Rei and Anna are worried about what he’ll do to her ,because he has problem with his behaviour sometimes, when he gets very mad.Anna and Rei want to go with Seth, but the boy refuses.

Rei knows that Anna will astral project to go to the fall and he tries to get her promise she won’t go.In some way.she promies ,but she still goes. And what she sees there is horrible.

Taylor has Seth’s phone. She took it because she wanted to get Seth’s attention. What she doesn’t know is that this isn’t a way to get it.Seth hates her and when he tries to get his phone back,Taylor falls aver the edge of the fall.Tragic, huh? But more tragic is when Seth tries to save her and ripes her shirt. Finally,Taylor falls and she dies.

Shocked,Anna wants to get in her body, but SURPRISE! Her body isn’t where she left it.She gets panic and searchs for her body everywhere. Not after a long time, her body gets out of her bathromm, walking, even if Anna isn’t in this body.Thrilled,Anna tries to get back in her body, but she can’t.Something blocks her way. Scared, she looks better in “her” eyes. And what she sees is….Taylor.Yes,Taylor took Anna’s body. And she won’t let Anna enter no matter what Anna does.

Plus,”Anna”(I mean,Taylor) accuses Seth for Taylor’s murder.Rei is’t shocked, because he knows that Anna wouldn’t do something like this.Seth disappear from the town and Rei and Anna(the real one) try to get him back, while they try to figure out a way to get Taylor off of Anna’s body.Plus,the-Taylor-as-Anna,acts weird and makes some dangerous things(for Anna). So,Rei and Anna has to figure out how to get rid of Taylor, how to bring Seth in town and make him surrenders to the police and how to protect Taylor and Anna’s body from what Taylor wants to do.Do you think they can make it out?

Oh,I forgot to mention that soon,Rei and Anna will find out that they are more then friends. They never anticipated their feelings for each other.Do you think they will be a team?

To find the answer to all this questions, just read “Auracle”.

An auracle, lovely and exciting novel which will teach you what a real friendship means.I recommend you with the biggest pleasure, you’ll love it!

Auracle was simply surprising. I had major cover lust from the moment I laid eyes on this breath-taking artwork, and I had to find out why this girl was hovering next to a beautiful waterfall. I was not disappointed when the cover was actually part of the story! How refreshing when that happens.

Gina Rosati’s writing style is clear, beautiful and descriptive, and she blends a thrilling, addictive storyline with romance and tension that kept me engaged through the whole story. Anna is a compelling, witty character with real emotions and believable actions. I understood her thoughts, and loved how smart this girl was. It’s awesome to read from a character’s POV that rationally thinks situations through, but still also captures the impulsiveness of what it’s like to be young. The villain of the story was not true evil like a lot of Paranormal, and I was able to sympathize with her, even understand some of her irrational actions, and that made for a more believable story. By the end, I felt sorry for her, and was relieved when the story gave closure to each situation.

The romance in AURCALE was a slow build rather than attraction that borders on infatuation, and I appreciated this so much. I felt Anna truly loved Rei as a friend, and then through the story, through their trials, their already established bond grew deeper. A suspenseful read that made me a fan of Rosati’s right away, AURACLE is an amazing debut, and I can’t wait to read more of this author’s works.

My thoughts

Covershimmer ,shimmer, blue shimmer . A icy-cold blue waterfall with in front a floating girl. High on the 2012 coverloves

Book:Paranormal YA has seen a big boom.Throughout the short time span books have popped up like mushrooms.Ideas that were new got recycled and used again and again with a basic formula.Resulting in stale cookie cutter bad boy infested ( the good ones not included) young adult books. This one is different. I see you are rolling your eyes.""Yeah right, different."".This is my response ""Yes it is"". Reason: astral projection.Let it sink it.You know the ability to extract your being out of your physical body. This book has it.A particular girl can do it.Anna.

The way Auracle is written is lovely and flows of the tongue. After some chapters Anna's voice structured for me.This book is not PNR but rather PNR+. This includes friendship, loyalty, family struggles, taking care of your actions and fixing stuff and doing whats right even without a body.
All that make it real and relatable. It is paranormal infused with somewhat crime, baked not burned with romance (you know the romantic goodstuff) and sprinkled with contemporary fiction elements. I also liked the Asian/cultural influence.Japanese to be correct. Philosophy, mediating and Rei but more about him later( Ya'll would love to know about him)

One minor complaint: Why was is not longer.I finally befriended them, got close and caring for the peeps in this book.BAM.THE END.I know if it was longer it could have resulted in dragging parts.I'm still happy in the end that this story was written and 80 to 85 % satisfied.

Anna is the girl I've mentioned before. She's witty and a girly.Wears not a lot make up or none.Energetic. Takes action after her body is stolen after the accident ( see synopsis) Being out of her body and trying to rescue , let say more than 2 people. The best is that sees that shes a cause in this and takes action (what a lot of PNR YA girls don't )

Harper is the ''mean'' girl. She popular, gets whats she wants and she did and caused the bigger .You are suppose to dislike but feel sorry for her. BRIGHT . silent moment ( huh?)

Rei.He's the boy next door. He's half Japanese (Whoot whoot, he is the 2nd love interest of color that i know of in 2012 paranormal releases). Some would say he is too perfect and some already said that. But he has flaws. He carries his loved one problems and sorrows on his soldier and is pretty hard on himself. I love how Anna shows him he does not need to.Hope you'll meet him soon. Ladies come closer. Closer. CLOSER. You will swoon.Hotness

The romance was lovely. Not insta lovey. But a gradual one.Anna 's situation brought them closer strengthens their relationship and eventually bloomed into love.

The plot was not difficult but trough Miss Rosati's writing made it tense, lovely and explosive trip.Plus the ability is explained very well. Very fictionally scientific. Sad to see this group of go but i ca't wait to read more by her. This lovely gem is out tomorrow.

This was definitely different. I have not actually read a book like this before so I found it very refreshing and enjoyable.

Anna has been best friends with Rei for as long as she can remember. He's a neighbour who's been a huge part of her life and she wouldn't know where she would be without him- he's her rock. Seth is Rei's guy best friend. They make the trio. Between the two very hot and very fit guys, Anna's only know noticing how HOT Rei really is. And the new slutty Taylor has always had a thing for Seth. When she steals his phone and Seth confronts her something happens and only Anna knows the truth.

Anna can somehow astrally project her body. She follows Seth that day and saw how Taylor fell of the edge of the falls. How Seth managed to grab her but just couldnt hold on.

When Taylor died she somehow made her way into Anna's free body and takes over her life. She weasels her way into Anna's life and accuses Seth of murder. As an eye-witness Anna can make sure Seth is found guilty since Taylor is more than willing to frame him for her death and is now essentially Anna to everyone including her family. Somehow Anna finds a way to communicate with Rei. They need to get Anna back into her body and save her and Seth.

But how?

As I said, unique and original. I was taken in by Anna's and Rei's friendship and how they both realised and expierienced new found feelings for each other which only grew and grew they were just so cute and it's eventually what had me hanging on to see what became of it all.
You see, they had always had that brother/sister relationship and everyone thought they were together since they never left each others side. The trust they had each other was truly heart-warming, heart-clenching and heart-felt.
I would love to have a relationship based on such friendship, trust and love.
Taylor... I know she lied and was a selfish, attention-seeing bitch but I couldn't help feel sorry for her. I mean we're all scared of dying and what she had to endure, an abortion and tons of pressure from her parents, but still it's no excuse for the way she acted.

I really liked this and it was an amazing and enchanting novel that I think many will enjoy.

Lets start off by saying this is a MUST read of 2012 and that’s the truth! I want to thank Gina for letting me experience the wonderful journey this book took me on and a huge thanks for writing it for us as well! The story of Anna was so different from most books I have read and I have to say it was remarkable! How cool yet scary it must have been for her to be able to astrally project form herself while she slept. The place’s she is able to visit, how exciting that must have been. Yet the only people who know she can do this was her best friend Rei, a boy she has known for most her life. Until one night while she is out of her body something that as never happened to her before does and when she returns to herself she finds out some very unsettling things.

I really enjoyed the friendship between Anna and Rei through out the book. The story line never failed and keeping me wanted to see what was next. Gina had me glued to the pages I could never get enough. At times I really felt Anna’s feelings and even got nerves at some points wondering what was next! The story started and ending with excitement, adventure, love, craziness and SO much more!

I really have to say this was one of the harder reviews I had to do because the book is that good. I don’t want to mess anything up and I don’t want to give too much away! It was a for sure an exhilarating adventure for one to take with Anna little gift. I thought it was so cool she could do something like that but also worried about the, “what if “ you would never get back to yourself. What would you do?!

If I had to suggest this one I would defiantly tell you to run out and get it TODAY! This one is for all ages and all ages will fall in love! Gina is a fantastic writer and I hope you will feel the same too!

Anna has a unique ability to attune herself to the vibrations of the world and astrally project from her body. For as long as she can remember she's used this knack to travel, escape, and do things her everyday life can't afford. When tragedy strikes leaving Anna without a body, it not only opens her eyes to the things she's taken for granted but will also challenge the extent of her abilities.

Sadly the most exciting thing about Auracle was the cover. Gina Rosati's debut was ok, and by all means should have been a good read. Auracle has all the building blocks to support it, nice foundation, good ideas, solid story lines, but was kind of bland. The characters had interesting backgrounds but no dimension to them, they were flat, stereotypical, and offensive. For example the antagonist Taylor has everything and all the pressure to go with it so her solution is to be overly aggressive, overtly sexually provocative, and get pregnant. When that doesn't work, she tries ruin as many other lives as possible, simply because this smart beautiful girl can't find any other way to rebel against being forced to go to Yale to become a judge and lead her own path in life. I think the story and characters definitely needed more work, more fantasy, it was a little too grounded in reality and didn't push any limits or challenge the reader.

Auracle has all the elements for a standout but is more of an in-between read, not quite good, not horribly bad, just blah, which could be worse. I really had to work through this one, the story got a bit boring at times and the characters weren't very likable, their motivations bland, making it a one-note novel.

I just have to stop... pe. It looked like it may be decent at first. Didn't happen.DNF at 12 pages... that's right TWELVE PAGES!!!! Why stop at 12 pages you may ask? because after just 12 pages I realized just how STUPID this book would be. I don't know why, it was just all dumb. Take my word for it. There are absolutely NO VAMPIRES either. When I picked up this book it looked like a vampire romance book... but like there is NOTHING RELATING TO VAMPIRES!! I mean how can someone write a book and not have vampires in it??? On top of this, the writing in this book was juvenile. My little sister could write better than this, and she was dumb enough to walk 5 miles home from target on the side of the road without sidewalks!!!! Give me a break. Dumbest twelve pages ever!!

I received an arc, courtesy of the author.

This was my first book about astral projection and chrystally things. I found the whole concept fascinating. I was rooting for Anna and Rei the whole way and really wished I could have killed Taylor myself for being such a you know what.

A terrifying ending with a satisfying romantic end. I loved it start to finish.

A thrilling story fueled by twists and turns, a touch of the paranormal and remarkably unforgettable characters. Once I was a few chapters deep, I simply had to know what happened next and I found myself thinking about the characters well after I was finished.

I have so many emotions!!! I had forgotten the synopsis of this book when I first started reading so I didn't really remember what I was getting myself into. The idea that Anna (she has my name!!!!) can astrally project is so cool and so original I was just sucked into the story from the very beginning. In a world that's so overly dominated by vampires and dystopians, the ideas behind Auracle were so refreshing and well thought out. I remember when the cover wes first revealed for this one and I was just so excited about it. I'm so glad I wasn't let down. Gina Rosati created a world that was so unfamiliar and yet so easy to connect to. Auracle will have you emotionally soaring above the clouds at every turn of the page.

Anna, despite being able to project herself out of her body and fly across the universe, is so easy to relate to. She has issues at home, issues at school, issues with her friends, issues that I could easily grasp on to having experienced them myself. I loved everything about Anna, sometimes I even felt like I was Anna. And Rei, Anna's knight in shining armor. He was just so perfect for Anna and I just wanted to scream at them until they finally understood how right they were for each other. Of course, it's hard to realize your soul mate is right in front of you when an angry spirit is inhabiting your body. Taylor was the perfect "villain" maintaining that combination of damaged yet slightly deranged. At times I would feel so sorry for her, and at others I just wanted to push her off a cliff.

While the characters were all incredibly well written, the plot was amazingly entertaining and fast paced, while still remaining original. I literally sat down and read this book in about two days, and that was only because I had to go to work. I could have easily read Auracle in one sitting; it was thought-provoking, refreshing, fast paced, and romantic while still providing those paranormal elements that I love. I easily jumped into the story just as easily as Taylor jumped into Anna's body and I found it so hard to disengage myself. Rosati's writing is amazing and beautiful and everything about it is so real. The only issue I may have taken with this story is that I have no idea what Auracle means (and yes, I looked it up!) but I don't even care!

If you're looking for an escape from the cookie-cutter stories that are so common these days, I definitely recommend you pick up Auracle. Even if you're not a big paranormal reader, Auracle walks the line of contemporary while still providing the paranormal elements that I crave. Auracle will have your heart breaking while making you laugh all at the same time. Anna is a sarcastic, enigmatic, and brave girl who just wants to escape the damaged household she's grown up. Auracle will teach you that no matter what challenges you have to face, the world will always be waiting for you to make your escape and sometimes that escape is waiting right next door.

Auracle is a very cute and sweet book that, thanks to Goodreads, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of. I really enjoyed Auracle but I also found it lacking in many areas. It was very rated G and I feel like I would have enjoyed it much more if I was younger. The plot is unique and it has a very innocent, light feel to it. It has a slower pace than what I usually prefer but still held my interest fairly well. I love the idea of the book and I’m a huge astrophysics and theoretical physics nerd, so I was beyond excited that the author incorporated physics into the story as opposed to presenting it from a purely magical perspective. One thing I didn’t like, were the characters, they lacked depth in my opinion and I found them uninteresting and hard to connect to or care about.

Anna was the hardest to connect with for me. I’ve read an entire book from her perspective and yet still have no understanding of who she is. She didn’t have a clear voice and wasn’t believable. She came off as unemotional and I just couldn't feel for her. When she couldn’t get back into her body, for example, Anna says “pure, raw panic rolls over me like a tsunami.” But the author never made me feel that panic, she just left it at that. Simply telling me a character feels a certain way doesn’t make me believe it, you need to show me that emotion and make me feel it too. This was a major problem for me, and it was consistent throughout the book. She never felt like a real person to me and I never managed to connect with her so I never really cared about her character or what happened to her. Rei was far too perfect, almost annoyingly so. He is extremely smart, attractive, and good at pretty much everything. I can’t relate to a character like that, no one is without flaws. He was caring and very considerate of Anna, which got him a few brownie points, but overall his character was flat and kind of boring. It wasn’t until I got towards the end that he ever felt like a real person to me, at which time he did start to grow on me a little though . Taylor was the most realistic character in the book oddly enough. I may not have liked her but I still felt for this girl more than any of the others. She is the only one who had any real depth or complexity. She had more than just one side to her unlike the rest of the characters.

I really did like Auracle, I thought it was very sweet and had the cutest ending, I just didn’t love it but if you’re looking for a unique and light read then it’s a definitely great choice.

Firstly I'd like to thank Gina Rosati for sending me a copy of this amazing book for the tour and an honest review. Also Jean BookNerd for hosting this tour, thank you! :-)

Wow, just wow! Gina has written an exhilarating debut novel, It literally just blew my mind! From the very first page it grabbed me.

Gina's storytelling is truly awe-inspiring, every step of the way I felt like I was apart of the story. A movie just playing in my head, one that I didn't want to end. The characters are so easy to connect with, they feel like long lost friends.

Anna can astral project, she can leave her body and adventure anywhere and everywhere (who wouldn't wanna do that, right?!?!). Until one time she ignores a warning to go back, and she finds herself without her body. A school rival (Taylor) has taken over Anna's body and boy, does she have some fun! Poor Anna, she's left in another dimension where she can't talk, she can't even eat. Though by using energy she can do some amazing things. Anna had me cracking up with the stuff she was doing throughout the story, she's such a fun character!

Rei, my goodness what a man! He's sweet, sensitive, caring and very lovable. The perfect "dream" guy! He takes his friendships very seriously and when one or both of his bestfriends are in trouble, he does everything he can to help and protect. I swear I was swooning over him through the whole book *blushes* ;-)

The secondary characters all had their own individual awesomeness. Taylor, she's just your average weird teenage girl who hides all her problems through lashing out and being outrageous (like taking over someone elses body). Rei's little sister was just gorgeous! (I have a younger sister myself and remember the babysitting days, loads of fun) ;-) My heart really went out to Seth, he gets put through hell!! I really could go on but, I think I've already said too much LOL!

This book is A MUST READ!! It gives you something new & exciting also it's a story that'll stick with you long after finishing the last page. If you haven't added it to your TBR list than I recommend you do so, this is one that's not to be missed. It's in my top 5 "Best Reads" of 2012.

Congratulations Gina Rosati on a truly fantabulous story!

First of all, I want to say thank you to Gina Rosati for sending me this amazing ARC and all the swag as well. I got bookmarks and buttons. Seriously I love it!

Next I want to say, the cover....it's so beautiful. I mean wow, from far away it's amazing but when I got it in the mail and I had it in my hands, I was floored!! What a great job! It just looks so freakin awesome!!

Now I want to get on with the review. Okay, so when I was asked to be part of this tour, I was like "Hell yeah, let's do this!" But I had no idea what to expect from this book. It surprised me in so many ways. To be honest, I had never read a book about astral projection before this one and I was a little confused in a some parts. But really, wow what a fresh story! And how freakin cool would that be to just leave your body and go anywhere you wanted! Freakin' bad ass! Though there are dangers to that too, like what Anna faced. But still, the concept is definitely awesome! The characters were brilliant and I really heard Anna's voice like she was speaking to me. I was on this incredible journey with so many twists and turns but I enjoyed it all! The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars was because it took a little while to get into it. But once I was in, I was in. The rest was fast paced and I found myself turning the pages so quickly. It was great!

I loved Rei from the time we meet him. He is a wonderful friend and I was really crushing on him. I was rooting for him and Anna the whole way. Their chemistry was real and lovely. Yeah, they're best friends blah blah blah.....but seriously they totally were into each other and those are always the best relationships anyway! I loved Anna, she was awesome, bad ass, smart, witty and just overall a great heroine! I also liked Seth! He was funny and a great character! The whole character development was very well written. I really felt what they were going through!

Overall, I enjoyed this book alot and am grateful for being part of the tour and able to read it before it came out! Bravo Gina Rosati! I will be reading more books that you produce in the future!

Anna has always been able to astrally project herself. It's always been fun to visit exotic places, but a major problem occurs when Anna decides to spy on her friend Seth, who's been coerced into meeting a vicious girl named Taylor at the waterfalls. Taylor ends up plummeting to her death over the falls, and when Anna returns to her body, she discovers that her body is already occupied. By Taylor. Life as a projection of herself comes with some problems, like how to communicate, but her best friend Rei knows about her astral projections and together they try to figure out how to get Taylor out of Anna's body, because Taylor doesn't want to leave. She's turning Anna into a pierced, tattooed Barbie doll and tells the police she saw Seth push Taylor over the falls. With Seth's trial looming, Anna and Rei will have to work fast.

I've had this book for about six years. I met the author at a book signing back in 2012, and again at another signing a few years later. I don't know why I put off reading some books for so long! This was a lot of fun to read. I've always been fascinated by the idea of astral projection (ever since I read Stranger with My Face) and I totally bought how Anna had gone on all these astral trips and never worried about someone stealing her body until Taylor. While I think Taylor's actions once she'd taken over Anna's body were a bit extreme, it showed how strong Taylor's aura was. And I did hope that Taylor would have a redemption arc at the end, and the trial and investigation were wrapped up a little too neatly, but Anna and Rei discovering more about Anna's abilities and about each other was so much fun it overcame that.

Auracle is one of the best YA novels I've read in a good long while and will definitely be going on my favorite reads for 2015 list. Astral travel is cool, handy and exciting, yet, Anna finds out how it can also be extremely dangerous, especially with dead enemies in the vicinity.

A truly good story should hook the reader from the start and this is what Auracle did for me. Anna popping out of her body and over to an erupting volcano most certainly got my attention right away. From that point on there was simply no let up as one exciting, suspenseful and often touching incident followed another.

The characters are the kind of young people most teen readers would be able to relate to. Anna, the main character, dreams of going to the places to where she astral travels. Yet, in her daily life, and especially in a crisis, she is level headed and can think on her feet.

Rei Ellis, the other main character, is the kind of guy of whom most young girls would dream. Loyal, physically active and attractive and, on top of all that, a gifted guitarist and singer, he most certainly has the attention of all the girls.

Unfortunately, Anna and Rei's troubled friend, Seth Murphy, has to suffer the attention of equally troubled but beautiful Taylor Gleason. Taylor, the selfish, yet deeply unhappy, antagonist in this story, does inspire some sympathy from the reader.

With its excellent plot and brilliantly alive and solid characters, Auracle is a stimulating and often suspenseful read. Although the romance is limited, it is tender and tastefully written. Auracle is most certainly a must-read suitable for young adults, but, can definitely also be enjoyed by older readers as well. (Ellen Fritz)

Though this book had a unique and very promising premise, I was personally underwhelmed with the result.

First off, there's a lot of slut-shaming going on. Taylor is constantly mocked for wearing revealing clothing, and our protagonist even dislikes it when at one point Taylor wears jeans and a "sleazy top." And yet, when Rei and Seth walk around shirtless after a run, they're not criticized a bit. I'm not usually a fan of books that send the message that women embracing their sexuality are sluts, so this rubbed me the wrong away. However, this could have been redeemed if the book had otherwise been more interesting.

This slut-shaming also played a part in making Taylor's character seem more stereotypical and two-dimensional, and while I realize Taylor was supposed to be shallow, we only just touch the surface of any depth she possesses. Because she's the antagonist, I felt like it cheapened the plot and made that more shallow as well (which wasn't particularly complex in the first place).

I did enjoy Rei and Anna's romance though, for one. It was refreshing to see a cute, monogamous romance instead of a love triangle with guys who are either abusive, immortal, or crazy. It was pretty clean and was really only the beginnings of their relationship.

I actually sort of wish that this were a series - the astral projecting would be pretty interesting to explore, but sadly we only explore this possibility - in which Taylor takes over Anna's body after dying. This somehow strikes me as a bit contrite, but perhaps it's just because we've seen the mean girl switching places with the average girl a few times before.

This book was awful. Plain and simple. The plot would have taken about 10 pages, but it was stretched out too much. Basically, Anna Rogen has the ability to "astral project" her soul can leave her body and travel anywhere in the world. Her friend advises her not to do it, but she does anyway. Her home life sucks, her dad is an alcoholic and pretty abusive, and her mom just keeps making excuses for him. Sounds interesting, right? Wrong. Her school's most awful bitch lures her weird friend to "the falls" and then falls off and dies, while Anna's soul is watching. Taylor then takes over Anna's body, and totally abuses it. The part I really hated way the way Anna could conveniently still talk to her friend, even though she was a bodiless soul. She could somehow be seen by him somethings, but not other times, and type on his computer? Lame. It just needed to happen for the story to progress. I have never stopped in the middle of a book (well, except for once when I foolishly attempted to read the unabridged version of King Arthur, but we'll just ignore that) but I basically skimmed the last 100 pages, until I got to the part where they resolved the whole body-take-over part. Do not be fooled by the beautiful cover, that's what drew me into the trap!

I loved the cover of this book when I first saw it, but now that I've read the book, I totally get it and love it a thousand times more. This is a great page-turning read that has a surprising amount of humor in its very fast-paced and compelling story. It is very much a paranormal, but something a little different than what I'm used to from the genre, which made it a very refreshing read about a girl who can astrally project and her best friend who try to fix the bad situation they find themselves in (I don't want to give anything away by talking about the plot too much). It was also very sexy without being graphic and I loved Rei and Anna together, even when they were so far apart physically for most of the book. Looking forward to more from Gina Rosati!

Anna has the gift of astral projection — she can slip out of her body and go anywhere she wants, from checking out a volcano in Hawaii to zooming through space to watch supernova up close. All’s fun and games until Anna vacates her body to check on a friend… and someone else jumps into it. Left as mere energy with no physical form, it’s up to Anna and her best friend Rei to prove their friend innocent of murder, deal with their feelings for each other, and kick out the serious Mean Girl that’s taken up residence in Anna’s body.

This book was such an excellent read. I felt like Anna’s relationship with Rei is really the heart of the novel. He’s the classic boy next door, but all of their interactions felt realistic and fresh. I loved the way this crisis pushes them beyond their normal friendship boundaries and enjoyed watching how, even though Anna doesn’t even have a body, there are still these amazing moments of intimacy.

So cool!

I was super excited to read this because I remember reading a few novels featuring astral projection in Jr High and loving them. The concept of AURACLE gives me shivers - because that is the big fear - that if you leave your body, someone else will snatch it right up and you won't be able to get it back. And Rosati delivers the creepy goods. We see the good parts of astral projection (Anna can go some amazing places - like inside volcanos), but then we quickly see the huge consequence. An accident victim takes over Anna's body and blames Anna's friend Seth for her murder.

Anna only really has one person on her side: Rei, her best friend who could be something more. Rei knows about Anna's ability and he knows something's not right. It was sweet seeing the two of them trying find ways to communicate with Anna body-less. And you definitely root for them as they try to get Anna's body back to prevent Seth from going to prison.

You want to read this, trust me.

First off, let me start by saying that I had the pleasure of meeting Gina in November at the Nano Merrimack kick-off party, and she and the other two authors there had great advice, everyone was really friendly and I even got my book signed ^.^ So that was really fun.
Now when I got home that night, I started reading it, and I practically devoured it at school the next day. I loved it. The entire premise/plot/everything about it was interesting.
It revolved around Anna Rogan trying to get back into her body while trying to keep her friend out of jail for a murder that he did not commit, but was still bare witness to. Along the way of Anna getting into her body there is self-discovery and coming to terms with feelings Anna did not know she felt. I loved it and found it told really well.
I can only gush about it. >.< some review this was >.>

★★★½

The plot related to aural projection is surely innovative, sort of like a redo version of Insidious. However, I felt that some things were added only for the plot and did not have any proper reason or explanation. Like the theory about the Heavenly Light, it is a convenient if not wholly rational idea, but that’s just my own opinion. The thing or rather, the character that I absolutely failed to like is Anna. She lies and hides things from Rei if she thinks he'll be angry or mad, basically she's an escapee. She gives up way too easily. She's so carefree that she doesn't even flip out when of her body gets stolen. I really liked Rei though; his is a well-written, balanced character.

I loved it. I feel bad for Seth since he was accused of murdering Taylor. I feel bad for Anna also since Taylor has taken over her body. I hate that Taylor tried to lose Anna's virginity. I feel bad for Rei because Taylor is trying to convince him to do a dirty thing with her. I liked that they were able to help Seth in the end. I can't wait to read more of Gina Rosati's books.

*Worum geht's?*

Irgendwie macht alles, was passiert, einen seltsamen Eindruck.
