I had a lot of fun reading this book. I think it was the best world creation I've witnessed in a while, and that's really the main character of this book and good enough reason to read it.
The only criticism I have is that chapters sometimes felt too long and more like an encyclopedia pages than a fiction book. Other than that, the stories were fun and creative, and I liked how some of the characters made a comeback at the end. All the drawings and unusual writing set a mood and brought a certain aesthetic to the whole story.
Overall, I enjoyed the story and characters, and would definitely recommend it.

An absurdist romp in the vein of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Instead of working on plot, most of the book deals with world building. The problem is that once the world is built then the author scoots us away to another world. There is a lot of creativity in this book but very very little plot. It's only really at the end that we see some emotional core in the book as the blue bear settles down into the next half of his life. There are so many creatures that we meet and spoiler alert. We remit at the end but it's just too much and overwhelming.

I absolutely adore this book! Its fantastical and nonsensical elements in a wonderfully vibrant world are simply enchanting. This feels like a children's book for adults in the best way possible.

This book made me realize what I've been lacking in the fantasy novels I've been reading. Lighthearted fun!

I am very stingy with my 5 star reviews but how could I give this book anything else?

„Rumo“ ist mein Lieblingsbuch und von diesem Autor -Es war in sich komplett rund. Doch „Die 13,5 Leben des Kapitän Blaubär“ zieht sich an vielen Stellen schon sehr dolle.
