Ex-DEA agent Erin Montgomery is reluctantly back on the job, posing as the sex-kitten groupie girlfriend of rock star Sean Ledger. She'll be joining his band's tour to try to catch an obsessed, dangerous fan. Tormented by nightmares of her failed last assignment, Erin's not exactly eager to be drawn back into the fray. But once she meets Sean, all rocker, all man and dripping with raw sex appeal, she knows she's right where she belongs.

Sean is reluctant to have someone investigating his crew, but when he meets Erin, his objections fly out the window. The beautiful, hard-bitten agent turns him on like no other woman ever has. Sean's caught glimpses of the fiery passion lurking under Erin's cool front and he's determined to break through her hard exterior and make her his.

But Sean's stalker is still at large and she's made it clear she's willing to stop at nothing-even murder-to get him.

That was the longest 210 page book I have ever read, good lord. Alright, down to business starting with the two positives.

1) This book contains the best sex scenes of any erotic novel I've ever read. Hands down. Like without competition. Winner. A+.

2) The characters are surprisingly deep and well developed, all of them given their own backstory and history and motivations. It's rare to see in a book in this genre, so good for you, Naima Simone.

And now. The negatives.

1) Despite the sex being incredibly hot, there is too god damn much of it. The first few scenes I was on board. Okay. Good stuff. ...Then it kept happening. And kept happening. And kept happening. And I'm sitting here thinking this woman is a god damn undercover agent. Shouldn't she be...I don't know...agent-ing? Doing anything at all to solve this case? Apparently not. Erin does NOTHING even REMOTELY undercover agent esque in this ENTIRE FUCKING BOOK. Not once.

2) I'm not sure why the author felt it was necessary for these two characters to have a intertwined childhood? The fact that Sean loved and protected 10 year old Erin when he was 17...was nothing but creepy to me. I know it was supposed to be sweet and we were supposed to understand how important she was. But it was not-so-vaguely pedophiliac and it creeped me out. They could have just as easily both been foster kids but from different homes. The creepiness and my inability to buy that this coincidence would ever happen in the first place ruined a lot of the book for me.

So...the positives and negatives kind of cancel each other out leaving me feeling "Well that was hot but ugh" about the entire experience.

Well, this one is definitely not for the kiddies. On the other hand, if you're looking for something hot, run down to Ellora's Cave and grab this one.

Both characters are impressively fleshed out, and you really get into their psyche and history and what has made the characters who they are in the story. Sean and Erin immediately strike sparks off each other, and don't waste time getting closer. The erotica is gripping and strongly supported by the feelings developing between them. Oh, and did I mention...there's lots of it! There is dominance and bondage, but I wouldn't tag it as BDSM.

I guess Sean knocked Erin for a loop, but she didn't behave like a DEA/Security person worried about a threat. Because the characters and the chemistry were so well written, it makes that angle of the story seem weak. The stalker is there, the threat is there, but I wish she had acted like a cop a little more. If you're looking for a good suspense story, I would keep looking. Even with that, though, I strongly recommend this book. I even had more than one favorite quote, but you'll just have to read it yourself.
Quote: "I have family I wouldn't trust if God notarized their tongues." Ha!! Definitely going to look for more from this author.

HOT is not a strong enough word for this book. The pages are burning as you read them, with some records definitely broken for longest sex scenes! But there's also a great story about former friends turned lovers who are exactly who the other needs (then and now)! It's really beautiful!

I just finished this. The hero's love and proctectiveness (pun intended-hehe) is heartwarming. The love scenes were so scortchingly Hot that you will need to put your kindle in the freezer when you finish reading this one. *smiles, swoons, drools* :-)

A hot, caring, hung ML and a ballsy, soft-for-him, beautiful FL (throw in a childhood connection, some danger, a whole lot of steam, trust & love and you have a fantastic read). I usually steer clear of novels about rock stars but I saw Naima Simone's name and decided to give it a go. No regrets at all, the plot and writing style were giving everything they were meant to give.

Naima Simone’s Love and Protect is a love story decades in the making, as it were. Years ago, Sean saved Erin from her father, who was beating her for the crime of trying to defend her mother. Events and time separated them, until Sean, now a famous rock star, needs someone to protect him from a stalker. While Erin wants to, she is haunted by the memories of a failed protection assignment that cost the life of a child. What neither expected was the level of attraction they feel for one another.

This story has a lot going for it. The writing is excellent. Ms. Simone is a master at the use of language, creating word pictures…no, word senses…for she manages to evoke all your senses with her writing. Reading this story is much like being there and seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling and tasting the events. When she describes the taste and feel of Sean sucking Erin’s pussy, anyone who’s done this intimate act will have their memories of those senses revived spectacularly. (She’s equally adept at describing non-erotic scenes as well)

The story itself is amazing. Most fiction requires a certain amo9unt of suspension of disbelief on the reader’s part. In this case, none is needed. The story of two people drawn close by adversity and rejoined by love is not only believable, but one that we crave in our hearts. You’ll shed tears as they struggle to accept their falling together and you’ll burn with anger at the evil the stalker inflicts on them. Even more amazing is how well Naima captures the essence of domination and submission. For these lovers, it’s not about ropes, whips and canes, but about the ecstasy that comes from being given and giving that sweet surrender that is erotic submission. “In this moment, she commended her body into his keeping, trusting that he wouldn’t abuse this intimacy. She just trusted.”

Erotically, this is one hot story. That vividness of description draws you into incredibly powerful sex scenes filled with emotion and sensation. You don’t just enjoy the erotic content; you become part of the erotic content. The story is brimming with sex, as well. This is a story of two people falling desperately in love with one another even as their bodies fall madly in lust for each other. If you don’t enjoy the sex in this story, you’re dead.

I give Love and Protect 5 Divas and a Blaze heat rating. Rest assured, I’ll be keeping my eyes open for more offerings from Naima Simone.

Put on your oven mitts before you pick this one up. Hot is an understatement. Molten is a closer description. Well written BDSM sex wedged into a nicely told story. The characters were believable and did I mention the lava hot sex?

So why only 4 Hoots, Auntie Kim? Well, there are a few things about the story that put me off. The first was the rampant over use of the f-bomb. There are other sexy ways to say "get all the way down". The next was Erin's insistence that Sean was not allowed to kiss her. I mean she had a good reason, but it seemed kind of Pretty Woman-ish. The last was that Erin and Sean had an almost brother/sister relationship growing up and when they started to do the foreplay tango, it seemed kind of incestuous. On the other hand I loved that as kids, he slept at the end of her bed to protect her and as adults she slept draped across his manly manly chest to protect him.

Was this a welcome escape into the dark world of bondage and domination? Yes. Was it a good story? Yes. Will I read it again? I don't think so. Now that I know how the mystery ends, I'm good. I will recommend it to others though so do head over to Ellora. Not responsible for melted eReaders as a result though. You've been warned.

What woman wouldn't want the job of going undercover, posing as a rock stars’ girlfriend? Erin, that's who. But her time off has come to an end after a tragedy, and she can't let her friend down.

Sean hides behind his music; he's a dark soul with his own tormented past. He uses music and sex to escape reality, but now someone is after him, damaging his things and threatening his life. He's not really sure what Erin can do, but he is sure that his attraction to her is intense, and that he wants her, needs her in his bed and eventually in his heart.

This is a strong erotic romance with suspense elements. Lots of graphic language as well, and the intensity of Erin and Sean's attraction is hotter than the boiling point. This is a good, solid story and I enjoyed it.

If you love erotic romances with suspense elements, then you may enjoy Love and Protect. Be warned, this is one hot story!

I liked the concept of this book. A strong, independent woman undergoes intense trauma after a security job went terribly wrong. She hides away to cope, until she was called back to security duty... to protect a man who was once her savior and only friend.

As this was an Ellora's Cave book, I should've expected the hot, steamy scenes. I never thought I'd type these words, but... those hot, steamy scenes kinda took the story away from my really liking it. But, that's just me. If the book was stripped of some of the OTT scenes, then maybe it would have been a bit better, because the story was, while cliched, was actually quite good. Let this be a lesson to all: get to know the person you're sleeping with. They may be psychos.

P.S. I was originally thinking of Jared Leto while reading about Sean. In the end, my mind started imagining the guy who holds the @peaceoot account on Instagram. Look him up. And, you're welcome.

Best thing about this book the description. The premise sounded really good, but unfortunately, this book did not do it for me at all. Normally my biggest bone to pick with a book like this would be the length, in that it was way too short for me. But in this case, I couldn't wait to blow through it and skimmed a far bit. The problem is that for every page that was emotionally well done and intimate, there were another ten pages filled with raunchy domineering dialog that completely overrode any intimacy I was just starting to feel. In one moment the hero is gazing lovingly, recognizing the heroine as the young girl he had protected as a child, then for the next dozen pages he is demanding and practically forcing her to do all these things to him and using really crude and demeaning language. Just didn't work at all for me.

If you are looking for erotica (e.g., hot sex scenes), this book has it in spades. Plus, unlike some erotic romances where the sex becomes almost gratuitous with no plot holding it together, the sex in this book is supported emotionally and by the characters' personalities. However, if you like a little plot, romance and character growth with your erotic romance, this is one to skip. It got to the point where I was skipping the sex scenes just to get to the end of the book. Not to mention that there was absolutely no suspense to who the villain was and not much of a climax (oops! no pun intended) when the villain was finally vanquished.

Wow! This story was amazing. The emotions poured into this were gripping. This is an erotic romance but it contained more emotions than just the sex. The plot and writing of the story was gripping. The history of Erin and Sean grabs you immediately and the heartbreak of Erin's last job makes you want to cry. Both of them have survived so much and you feel like you've known them your whole life. Then the mystery that brought them back together is resolved in an explosive ending. This is one story that I will definitely read again!

To much sex, not enough other plot. It would have been good if the whole thing hadn't centered on their lust for each other. There should have been more focus on their respective demons and Sean's stalker.

Great sex. The mystery of the stalker fell flat for me but the relationship between Seth and Erin was fantastic. Control and surrender, trust or loneliness. Which will they choose?
