jacquelyn lee is a self-published author and poet. she is best known for her debut poetry book, "under the influence" that she wrote, edited and self-published when she was 19-years-old. she also released a sister book to "under the influence," titled "mind over mother." together, these two books tell the story of her childhood. jacquelyn writes about her experiences growing up with an alcoholic father and a mentally-ill mother.
writing poetry has been jacquelyn's coping mechanism. she writes about raw, real, emotions and experiences that aren't always easy to put into words. her writing focuses on themes of abuse, addiction, childhood trauma, suicide, mental illness, eating disorders, and more. writing poetry has helped her heal, learn, and grow in many ways.
