I have a breadmachine which I've used for ages because the cost of buying fresh bread is getting expensive, but lately the bread hasn't had enough flavour and is coming out too dense. So I decided to try the first recipe in this book (for the Farmhouse White Bread). My first attempt was a complete disaster, so I'm trying again this morning. I mixed the ingredients better this time (I think), so I have higher hopes on this attempt. I'll update this review once I actually taste the final result. But I have to agree with others that this Author provides insight into how this should work, and tips on how to take shortcuts (if necessary). Fingers crossed that this second attempt works!

Most of Easy, Fabulous Bread Making ~ A Collection of Quick, No-Knead, Homemade Bread Recipes by Barbara Mack, author is devoted to yeast bread recipes. Due to an allergy to yeast in the family, I purchased the book for the section at the back called 'Extra, Extra, Extra" with non-yeast recipes. I tried all of them in this section and the Sweet Cornbread is now our favorite way to make corn bread to go with soups and chili. It is totally fabulous to find such a good bread treat recipe.

my favorite bread cookbook!

If you like to make bread at home - but don’t want to deal with the hassle of starters, finicky processes, and time consuming efforts - then this is the bread cookbook for you! I have made bread for decades and this is the easiest way I’ve found. Honestly, it’s not much harder than a bread machine.

This is a useful cookbook full of wonderful bread recipes, from savory to sweet! I love the recipe for cinnamon rolls (and so do my kids)! And the recipes in this book make it so easy to make your own bread!
