I had big plans when I returned home to my small town, but they didn’t include a retired hot-shot hockey player getting in my way.
The last person I wanted to fix up my historic dream home with was the handsome older man, with money to burn, who bought it right out from under me.
But thanks to my father, that’s exactly what happened. Colton Crawford was making my house a home, and I was back in my childhood room, trying not to think of the towering, gorgeous Adonis with a killer smile… and how much I hated him.
Or at least that’s what I tried to tell myself.
Because the more time we were forced to spend together in the dust and debris, the less our age-gap mattered.
And the more the sparks flew.
Colton was used to scoring on the ice, and after a freak storm left us sharing one tiny bed in his metal camper, the heat smoldering between us was hot enough to burn us both.
But just when I thought my sexy, new neighbor might not be so bad, real-life came knocking, reminding us what we walked away from.

3.5 rounded up to 4!
After moving to the big city, Autumn is back in Ashfield. A small, tight knit town with all of those classic small town vibes we all love so much. After she discovers her boyfriends cheating she feels at odds with the big city and comes home to what she knows, but she’s still figuring out exactly where it is she wants to be, the small town she’s beginning to fall for once again or the big city she dreamed of so fondly in her teenage years.
Colton, an ex-hockey player, looking for a place to lie low, also ends up in Ashfield. Our two main characters crash together (literally!) but when Colton buys the house Autumn has been dreaming of fixing up her whole life and plans to fix it up for himself, Autumn is thrust into a sea of uncertainties. Will Colton tear down the house of her dreams? Can she decide where she wants to be? Is this small town her calling or her curse?
This was super cute, pretty steamy and I really enjoyed the fixer-upper house sub plot. The small town/everyone knows everything trope will always be my favourite. I liked Autumns family, however I did find their reactions a little too much, occasionally. I would have liked more of Colton and less of the family but I see that this is a series and I can only assume the extra context of the family will come into play later on?
Overall, I enjoyed this- the town and the story were both a breath of fresh air. The writing is incredible and I found the vast majority of characters/dialog to be very well written, colour me impressed. I would definitely recommend picking this up if you like rom-coms, small town romances or if you’re looking for something that’s an easy to read pick me up. I will definitely be keeping an eye on the next releases this author has planned.
"You didn’t think we were finished, did you?’ He asked. ‘Oh, princess. We’re just getting started." Time For You, Renee Harless
—small town romance —retired hockey player —one bed —age gap —he falls first & insta love
3.75 ⭐️
Time For You was a really quick, fun small town romance. With tension, sparks flying, and an insta love romance, I thoroughly enjoyed myself reading this book.
Colton is a retired hockey player who moves to the small town Autumn has just come back home too where he outbids her on her dream home. From there, they spark a love to restore the house to its former glory and along the way, they fall in love.
I loved the spice in this one, it was perfect for these two characters relationship, and it felt real. Their love felt real. And usually I’m not a huge fan of insta love but I really enjoyed it in this book. It worked for Colton and Autumn.
I’m giving it 3.75 stars because I would have liked a little more angst between the MCs. I think it would have elevated the story more and really gave the reader more butterflies. Also, I would have liked a little less of Autumn’s family and more of her and Colton. They were a bit overwhelming at times with how they reacted to things.
But overall I enjoyed myself with Time For You. It had a good writing style, it was fun, made me feel giddy, and I can’t wait to continue with the next books in the series. If you’re looking for a small town romance to read next, I would recommend this one for a Sunday read. You know the feeling, Sunday, a cup of coffee, sitting in your favorite spot and cuddled up with a book.
If you're looking for a cute read with some spice with very hallmark vibes, you're going to enjoy this. This story I had been super excited about because it's small-town, ex hockey player, fmc returning home to her family's farm. That all centered around this beautiful home. But I STRUGGLED with this book, I really didn't get into it until about the 65% mark. Once I got into it, I just truly wanted something more from this story, I wanted a more in-depth look at the couple, the house, and Colton's sibling relationship. The couple was super cute, they had great communication and I really enjoyed their dynamics together, and Colton had great dirty talk. Overall, a cute read.
Tropes: Small-town Family dynamics Love at first sight Age Gap

This book felt like a warm cozy hug. What I liked the most about it is, the familial bonds and how positively the small town life was portrayed.
Set in a beautiful rural town, this book is low angst but sweet and spicy. I especially enjoyed Autumn’s interaction with her family.
Both Colton and Autumn were lovable protagonists but sometimes I felt that their chemistry was a bit off. I also felt that the last part was slightly rushed.
Overall an ok read. KU and recommended.
I received an advance review copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.
Time For You is a cute, contemporary, small town romance! This is definitely a low angst read and just one of those “feel good” small town romances.
Autumn is 24 and recently has returned back home to her small town. After a relationship snd working for a top event planner in NYC kind of ended badly, she’s back at her family’s farm. Autumn has always dreamed of getting her hands on a forgotten, abandoned home in town and fixing it up. It once belonged to her family generations ago and she’s itching for the chance to get her hands on the project. She can’t believe her luck when the property goes up for sale!
Enter Colton, a mid-30s retired NHL hockey player. Colton suffered a career-changing injury that affected his mental state more than it did physically. He decided to take a break and escape to the small town where one of his former coaches lives. He happens across the property Autumn has had her eyes on and wins it easily in an auction.
The romance was very low angst and easy. The hero falls first after running into her on his first day in town. If you like a fixer upper style, home reno read, then this one definitely has you covered. I did want a bit more depth to the characters, there is a lot going on around them with their families and life, and I just wanted a bit more focus on them and the romance instead. The hero is definitely a dirty talker but that level of steam felt kind of off compared to his character/the vibe of the story the rest of the time. I could have done with less of the heroine’s family and her sisters but maybe they’re supposed to get future books. If you’re looking for a low angst romance that avoids a 3rd act breakup and doesn’t have miscommunication, check this one out!
I received an e-ARC from the author. All thoughts in this review are my own. Time For You has a publish date of April 11, 2023.
Autumn had no plans to return to her hometown of Ashfield, but here she is. Cheated on by her partner (and boss), her dreams of working as an event planner in NYC have been dashed. Resigned to being the focus of the town rumour mill for the foreseeable future, something totally unexpected happens... HE arrives.
Colton is a retired professional hockey player who is being harassed by the paparazzi. Looking to escape, he's headed to Ashfield to see an old coach and hide out for awhile. So when Colton falls in love with an abandoned farm house that is going up for auction, he buys it on impulse for a crazy price. What he can't know is that he's just outbid Autumn on the home of her great grandparents; her dream home.
Everyone in town knows of Autumn's love for the property, so when Colton expresses his desire to restore it, she begrudgingly shares her years of research and planning with him. After agreeing to work as a team, there is an intense connection that neither can deny. Can Autumn let go of the property and give Colton a chance? Or will she run back to the city for good?
I received this book as an ARC directly from Author Renee Harless and LOVED it! I'm a sucker for a small town romance, and the chemistry between these two was incredible! Seriously, read if you love all the spice 🔥🔥
I really enjoyed the developing relationship between Autumn and Colton, and the glimpses we got into their families and the community. I'm also a sucker for the 'fixer upper' vibe and really enjoyed this aspect of the story. It all tied together beautifully and I didn't want to put it down!
3.5 ⭐️ I really enjoyed this! It was a fun small town romance and a super quick read. I quickly fell IN LOVE right from the start but I do think the story just ended. It probably could’ve been longer. Aside from that, it was really enjoyable
This book is a wistful, sexy, fun read that you will want to devour in one sitting!
Autumn and Colton are seriously amazing! Their story starts off with a little meet cute that quickly transforms into a not so cute relationship! But things definitely change especially when they spend more time together! The problem is, can Autumn trust her instincts especially since Colton lives a life in the spotlight!
Definitely love the cute little town in this book and the nosy siblings! This is a start to an amazing series!
Where can I get a Colton Crawford? Serious question 'cause I loved this man!!!! well THE WHOLE STORY, omg I LOVE A GOOD SMALL TOWN AND THIS BOOK REMINDED ME WHY, I loved Autumn and Colton's story, how step by step they were letting their feelings come to light, that despite having their obstacles they managed to get through and that my baby Colton found a family in the whole Easterly family filled my heart with joy.
The beginning of the two started a bit chaotic but seeing how far they got was the best, I saw no drama in the book, everything was so sweet that I LOVED it, I felt blessed to read this book early
A super light read, I finished it in one night and I look forward to the other books in this series 🫂💖
🫂thank you @renee_harless and @greyspromo for gave me this arc in exchange for my honest review 📚!!

I enjoyed this small town romance. It just felt very comforting to read. It follows Autumn 24 who after getting burned by her ex and then left jobless in the city returns home to her family farm in Sunny Brook. Then there is the MMC Colton Crawford 35an ex-hockey shot trying to lay low in the small town after retirement. They cross paths when Colton ends up fixing up Autums historic dream home. Colton gets a run for his money when Autumn makes him work for it. This book just felt so homely. As someone who plans to own farmland one day, it just was a cute easy read. The trailer spice was fantastic and then working together I was swooning. Just wanted a bit more spice between them and more scenes as there is a portion of the book he had to leave for a while for commitments.

Such a cute book! Autumn and Colton’s relationship is super fun and playful. Typically during Romance books there is some argument that splits the two leads apart and then work to get back together. I loved that Autumn didn’t believe the rumors about Colton and stuck by his side while her family was thinking the worse.

Where do I even begin with this book… You get: 🌻 Small town romance 🌻 Ex hockey player 🌻 Age gap AND 🌻 SPICE 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Like… How much better could it get? This was hands down one of my favorite books I have read this year so far. It had the most endearing story line. Between Colton’s past & Autumns sweet & sincere family you just couldn’t help but absolutely love them all. Mix in the way Colton cares for Autumn & their immediate attraction towards one another but also that slow burn… Absolute chefs kiss 🤌🏼 It gave that sweet home town feel, with the gossip filled friendly neighbors, the nosy siblings, but all with the best intentions. I appreciated the fact that Autumn & Colton knew how to communicate with each other & never doubted one another.. & can we talk about his willingness to defend her honor 🔥 & vise versa, LOVE IT. The only thing I am sad about with this story is that I already finished it 😂 I loved it so much I finished it within two days. I never wanted to stop reading it, that’s when you know it good! I cannot wait to read more of the Sunny Brook Farms series! I really love Renee’s writing. - Thank you so much for reaching out & offering an ARC for an honest review, I adored this story! 🤍

Thank you to the author for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Time For You is a sweet, low-angst, small town romance with a lot of potential, but sadly it didn't hit all the marks I wanted it to.
This book left me feeling ultimately unsatisfied. There were a lot of good story beats that I don't think the author took full advantage of. For example, the auction scene in the beginning where Colton purchased Autumn's beloved dream house was so brief and uneventful! It could have been used to provide exposition of other people living in the town and established side stories, or helped build tension between Autumn and Colton. Instead, it was over in like two pages and was a complete non-event. Throughout the book there were multiple scenes that I feel ended too soon or were just completely undeveloped.
I struggled to connect with the characters in this story. I honestly feel like Autumn and Colton both know that they're the main characters of this story and act accordingly. The dialogue felt very forced and honestly made me cringe a few times because it read more like the characters felt like it was what they were supposed to say rather than what they should say. It just didn't feel organic.
This was a quick read and a cute concept for a romance, but it fell short in a lot of ways.
4.25 ⭐️ Autumn returns to her small hometown after her boyfriend (and boss) cheats on her, and she loses her job. She is trying to make big dreams come true and fix up a historic home that was once her families, until she's out bid by a handsome older guy she recently ran into.
I really liked the found family plot line and chemistry between Colton & Autumn. What I loved the most was the trust Autumn had in Colton. Without giving spoilers away, I was so excited with how the Sadie and Colton storyline played out and how Autumn handled her families reaction. I freaking hate the miscommunication trope, and I'm so glad that wasn't an issue here. The connection was a little insta-love, but it worked. This was an overall great read, and I look forward to the rest of the series.
✨️Age Gap ✨️ Small-town Romance ✨️ Celebrity/Ex Hockey Player ✨️ Found Family ✨️ One Bed ✨️ Spicy
If you like age gap, slow burn, small-town romance a la Hallmark, this is for you!
I will say the first half of the book was incredibly slow and hard to get into. There were a lot of scenes and inner monologue that didn’t add any value; they made the story feel dragged and boring, at times.
But I did love the fixer-upper aspect of it! Okay, so get this, Autumn has been wanting to buy a home that was in her family for years, but a cousin gambled it away. Once the house is up for bidding, she’s ready. But Colton, the retired NHL player, raised the bid so high, it was impossible to beat.
What I loved was how Autumn had all these ideas for the house in a binder, and Colton brought her in to give ideas for the renovation. It was nice to see them together in this setting.
And the best part of this relationship? No third-act breakup!

Autumn is back in her small hometown after trying to be an event planner in the big apple, everything was going great until her boyfriend and boss stole her ideas and cheated on her. So she’s back, trying to find her footing again when she literally stumbles upon it. Colton Crawford is a retired hockey player, eleven years her senior and trying to figure out what’s the next chapter of his life going to be. He never thought about setting roots in a small town in Tennessee but here he has his minor league coach who’s the closest he’s ever had to a family. Their paths weren’t supposed to cross but in a small town everyone knows everyone and their fate was inevitable. Their chemistry is undeniable and together they’re unstoppable. I loved their journey to forever.
I love a hockey romance, and while this novel featured a retired hockey player, I still loved the way hockey was incorporated (though it was minimal for any of you averse to sports 😉). The small town of Ashfield was definitely a place I would like to visit, and I loved the sense of community there. Autumn’s family was sweet and involved and I can’t wait to see more of them!! Autumn was down-to-earth and very relatable. Colton was a swoonworthy lead, very endearing, and the sunshine to Autumn’s grumpy. I loved that before Autumn and Colton met, we really got a sense of who they were, and I appreciated the character development that happened throughout the novel. And when they did finally run into each other, their meet cute was adorable!! I am quickly becoming a fan of the age gap trope and thought this one was so well done. The renovating of the old house was such a fun plot point and really helped push the story while also allowing the characters to get to know one another more. The spice in this novel was fantastic and one scene in particular definitely had me blushing. The romance developed quickly, but in a way that was satisfying and believable. And I loved how the potential miscommunication towards the end was dealt with and truly spoke of the love and trust between Autumn and Colton. This was just a joy of a novel and I can’t wait for more in this series!!
Content warnings: some profanity, sexual scenes, foster care discussed, cheating
(I received an eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.)
I absolutely adored this story! Colten and Autumn have such great chemistry and I loved watching them play no games. I found Autumn pretty relatable and Colten is very sexy! I only just wish there was more! I felt that the story could’ve gone into a little more detail but it didn’t really detract from the overall read. If you’re looking for a quick romance read set in a small town with some found family then you would definitely enjoy this book! I wanna go to Sunny Brook Farm now.
This was such a fun start to a new series by a new to me author. I’m always super excited when I find an author that works for me so I’ll be diving into her backlist asap. This has an age gap, small town, a side of hockey romance, grumpy and sunshine and some forced proximity/only one bed. Basically every trope I love and this was really cute. This was flirty, sexy and while there was some insta love and that typically doesn’t always work for me it did here.
*ARC Review* 3.5 ⭐️ . It was a very cute read, with many of my favorite tropes. I loved the small town and the found family aspect. It is a perfect fluffy light hearted romance!💖 Thank you Renee Harless for giving me the opportunity to read this before being released!
this book was a cute and quick read. i wish it was longer because i felt like some parts were a little rushed and i didn’t form the connection to the characters like i wanted to. usually with romances i like a little bit of a slow burn but i felt like in this book autumn and colton got together super quick. i did love the small town vibes though!
“Time For You” is the first book in the amazing new series by Renee Harless. Her Sunny Brook Farms Series features a close-knit small town, strong family values and sweet and tender romances. The picturesque setting, with its colorful sunsets and beautiful mountains is the perfect place for our characters to fall in love.
Autumn and her three sisters had fun growing up in Ashfield but she always had bigger plans for herself than getting stuck in her one horse town where nothing ever happens. The bright lights of the big city called to her and when she was accepted at NYU and left for college, she knew she was on her way to making all her dreams come true. Autumn never thought the bubble would burst on her magical time in New York and when it did, she begrudgingly returned home, feeling like a failure. What could she possibly do now in the town she so eagerly left in her rear view mirror? Autumn was certain that nothing or no one could convince her that being back home again would be the answer to her prayers.
Of course, romance snuck up on Autumn in the form of a very tall, and extremely handsome hockey player, Colton Crawford, who was in Ashfield to visit his former coach. Autumn was determined not to like the sexy newcomer, especially when he beat her out for a piece of property that she was interested in. Colton knew that getting Autumn to trust him would be a tough job but as with his hockey career, he was always up for the challenge and winning was his only goal. I loved Autumn’s feisty attitude and her desire to make her own way whether it be in Ashfield or somewhere else. Colton was very patient with Autumn and she appreciated his kindness and his positive outlook on life. Nothing bothered Colton and he knew fate had brought him and Autumn together and in his heart, he finally felt at home.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 small town, age gap, he falls first, reverse grumpy/sunshine
i want to start by saying a huge thank you to renee harless for sending me my first ever ARC🫶🏽✨
i got to round out march with a bang (although i will be including this in my april count since it comes out this month). Time for You was the swoony, small town, he-falls-first, family driven story my heart always craves. i am always going to be a sucker for a semi-cheesy meet-cute and that’s just what autumn and colton had. while i absolutely loved autumn and colton’s relationship, i think my favorite aspect of this book was autumn’s relationship with her sisters. coming from a family where i also have four other sisters, i could relate each of the easterly sisters to each of my sisters and myself. aspen and autumn’s relationship reminded me so much of me and my little sister’s relationship that it made me tear up at multiple points.
overall, i absolutely adored Time for You and am beyond excited for the rest of the Sunny Brook Farms series. i may be a little biased by saying that i’m most excited to read aspen’s story if she gets one🤞🏽.
I need more please and thank you!! I found a new town to love and new characters to obsess over. Colton and Autumn have this spark and I immediately fell in love with these two. I look forward to more stories with them and the Easterly family.
Colton and Autumn were wonderful characters. This story is fast paced and pretty much a love hate first start. Colton bought the house that Autumn had always considered hers. The house that had at one time been part of her family's, had been gambled away and she had wanted to buy it back for her family. But when you have a Hockey player that has more money than sense, what do you do? Colton did work with Autumn on fixing it up and being in close contact, they became close.
This is a new series for Renee Harless and I love the small town theme. Renee Harless is a wonderful author and I look forward to her next book.
Thank you Rene harles for the ARC that I hase chance to read.
Time for you is..
✨️Age Gap ✨️ Small-town Romance ✨️ Celebrity/Ex Hockey Player ✨️ Found Family ✨️ One Bed ✨️ Spicy
When Autumn is returning in her smal town after unpredictable events that have happened in New York, she is not ready to bubm literally in this sexy as fuck retailed hockey player Colton Crawford. Especially, when he overtakes her,and bay her dream house that she wanted from little to be here's.
I want to say that Colton and Autumn have this immediately attraction toward each other. The chemistry was chef kiss and the relationship developed melting hot. Without to spoil something I will say that the trust that Autumn hase in Colton was amazing and really make me to melt. I enjoy the funny sibling relationship and the new found family aspect to,but the end was to me little hasty and in my opinion I needed more from them. Overall all was amazing the story hase the great amount of the gentle/possessiv man like rock that I die for, and the charming, but little grumpy Autumn that I like very much!
Time for You is the first book in the Sunny Brook Farm series by Renee Harless. This story follows Autumn as she returns to her hometown hoping to restore a old farmhouse that once belonged to her family. Unbeknownst to Colton, he foiled Autumn’s plans when he bought the house at auction but it didn’t stop him from asking Autumn for her help restoring the home. While they spend time together the attraction between them grows with both of them wanting more but both unsure of what their futures hold.
Time for You has all the tropes you could possibly want in this steamy read. There’s a bit of hockey, a home reno, an age gap relationship and some forced proximity all set in a nosy small town in Eastern Tennessee. If you are still living in your small town era, add this series to your tbr.
Thank you @renee_harless for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback.
This was such a sweet book! I loved their meet cute and how that was worked into other areas of the book. I really enjoyed watching them fall for each other and the found family aspect of the story.
