Woowza, that is another uber hot read for this series!!! Good lord, warn a gal so she can have a cold shower ready!!!
I love yummy Alpha to be Anton. He is just scrumptious!!! A gal could do worse than a smexy bossy wolf. Sure he was a player before, but once his wolf decides on a mate, all bets are off!!!
Shannon is sweet, if a bit naive. I understand she is fighting deep cat instincts, that is the only reason I did not find her a wimp. She has plenty of sass and gumption, if she could just get those instincts under control.
The narrative is mixed between the two leads, really smooth transitions from one POV to another. You really get into their heads with this style. I think it helps make them more engaging and real to the reader.
I generally enjoyed the story, but feel the animosity is exaggerated. I know they are shifters, but they are human too. How is it okay to just attack some one because they are in your territory. Seriously, you own the supermarket? Every time an new wolf met poor Shannon they threatened to kill her, not a single word spoke, just straight up death threat with no introductions. Sure, that is how things run in a civilized world.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by G. C. VonCloudts, who does a great job. Plenty of variation in the voices and consistency. She has a great tone that lends itself to the material. I loved her energy throughout the read, especially in the naughty bits! I am super thankful she did not take Shannon to a whiny place, she kept her anxious without being nasal. The.The girl gives good voice!
Overall I enjoyed the read, once I set aside the annoyance at the insta-death threats. It was another great book in this little series. I hope we get a HEA for each brother and that yummy cousin!
