Esther Hicks is an American inspirational speaker and best-selling author. She has co-authored nine books with her husband Jerry Hicks, presents workshops on the Law of Attraction and appeared in the first release of the film The Secret. The Hickses' books, including the best-selling series The Law of Attraction, are — according to Esther Hicks — Channelled from a group of non-physical entities called Abraham (Hicks describes what she is doing as tapping into "infinite intelligence").
Esther Hicks was born in Coalville, Utah. She married her current husband, Jerry Hicks, in 1980 and has one daughter by her former marriage.
Esther Hicks's material was the inspiration behind "The Secret"
This didactic book about law of attraction is the story about Sara, an ordinary girl with the usual problems, such as disruptive siblings, parents who worry about her, and limited unscheduled time to just relax and be. She does what most of us do about problems. She gets annoyed with her brother, adds to her parents’ worrying by worrying herself, and is resentful of intrusions upon her time and space. She feels most relaxed and happy when in nature. After an encounter with a wise owl while reveling in nature, Sara begins to realize that she makes her problems worse by focusing upon them, rather than upon the many happy aspects of her life—a basic law of attraction concept. With help of Solomon (the owl), she begins to improve both her mood and her life, taking responsibility for her own thoughts and feelings.
Another concept that is broached concerns death: though the body dies, the spirit continues to live. Through she loses a friend, Sara comes to realize that his spirit is eternal. When she is relaxed and happy, she can tune into her friend and enjoy his spiritual presence.
Although most appropriate for girls around age 10, this book would also help adults who want to learn the basics of law of attraction. This is not the popularized but lacking version of law of attraction presented in The Secret. It deals with how exactly to feel good most of the time throughout life—even when circumstances become difficult. Hint: bad feelings serve a purpose as well, and pretending to be happy is not the prescription.
For me this little book is a miracle. I got it from my grandpa when I was 10 and since then I read it at least fifth times. Everytime I'm in a bad mood, everytime I'm stressed and overwhelmed I pick this book and it always helps to lighten my mood. It's interesting how everytime I read it, I find something new. It's a quick read, about 2 hours, but such a sweet one. And the illustrations are beautiful. One of my all time favorites.
This book was. amazing! Not just for children but for adults too. I love Esther, Jerry and Abraham's teaching and how it was illustrated in a story was a powerful way to understand it and have fun reading and learning about it. I loved Solomon! And the part where he says that most beings community ate without words. The day before I finished I found a lizard. I felt like it was my very own Solomon : D I hadn't seen one since I was younger - my brother and I used to catch them and keep them for a little and them let them go. It was fun and reading this book I think helped me rediscover that childlike wonder and magic and attract this lizard which represents so much of that to me because when I was a kid, lizards, lady bugs, roly polies, creatures and animals of all kinds were the most fascinating things. Thank you Esther, Jerry and Abraham for this fun experience.
I feel as though everyone in the universe should read these books. Whats more after you read them you should find the closest child to you and start reading this series to them!!!
I have no children of my own..you know I'm everybody's favorite auntie and a godmother to boot, I have worked with kids my whole life and read hundreds of books for children. I have never seen a series of books that makes so much sense and is such a joyful clear message for children and adults.
If you do read this series of books to your children or someone else's I want to hear stories about it!! Maybe even have them read them to you if they are old enough!
Personally I can't wait to read them to one/many of the little lights in my life...maybe I will have stories to share soon : )
This is such an amazing book!! I was recommended to read this book by my maths tutor ( who also happens to be a law of attraction facilitator ) back in 2021, and I was amazed by it because it enlightened me with the power of expressing gratitude and appreciation. This book teaches you that no matter how big your dream is, IT CAN BE ACHIEVED AT AN EASE . This book has definitely changed my attitude towards Life and it has also made me realised how easy it is to manifest amazing things into one's life. I had such a great time reading this life transforming book. It has so many thoughtful teachings to make your life so much more beautiful than ever. IT'S A MUST READ. I am so grateful to get to know about this wonderful book at such an early stage of my life. <3 :)
Sara, did you notice, that as long as you were talking about what you 'didn't' want, that you couldn't get what you 'did' want? But when you began talking about what you did want- even more important, when you were able to begin 'feeling' what you did want- then it came instantly?
I can't believe I've waited so long to read this!! Page 48 & I'm truly loving this...
This book was amazing! I've read lots of Jerry & Esther Hicks however the way this is told in a story like way was truly brilliant. A book I will most defiantly be reading over again
A cute little story about a young introverted girl who meets a beautiful white owl who quickly becomes her much needed best friend, teacher and confidante. With his love and patience, she learns the truth about life and the Law of Attraction. "A constant steady stream of well-being flows to you at all times and in any moment you are allowing it or resisting it". Through Sara's thoughts and experiences, the reader is taken back to their childhood days, when their hopes and dreams were once very strong, and the simple lessons taught here awaken them once again.
Absolut empfehlenswert!
This is - no surprise, given the source - excellent. I am so excited for my kids to read this, and see these concepts we are always chatting about confirmed in the words of others. And this breaks it down into simple, doable chunks that they can put directly into practice, along with very child friendly context to make even more sense of it. Very pleased to have discovered these!
Am learning on my journey about the Law of Attraction and realize that when you come to new things through the eyes of a child - open and non-judgmental - concepts can be easier to grasp. I plan on reading all three Sara books!
Omg this is the one of the best books ever. I’ve read books in this subject, and none of them were this clear and brief. It’s short, it’s exciting, it’s fluent and most importantly it’s helpful! I think everyone should read this. I’m on the next chapter already.

Its more practical with daily life, reading how lil girl getting to understand and know all bout well being :) makes me understand and know more about well being and practice it
I enjoyed this book because it taught me lots of stuff like how to look at things from a better frame, there is no death and how to open your "valve" and keep your valve open. I really enjoyed the book's interaction and characters.

A clever story to relate the principles of The Law of Attraction and teachings of Abraham. Written for anyone who is young at heart - and of course there is an wise Owl! It's easy to see the parallels between Esther/Sara and Abraham/Solomon. The character and challenges represented by Sara will be relatable to most readers. Quite delightful and informative, this tale offers a new perspective on life.
The printed book contains illustrations by Caroline S. Garrett. The audio book is narrated by Jerry Hicks and features exceptional music composed & performed by Stewart St. John.
Favorite Passages: I'd like to put a blanket of quiet over everything so I could, just for a little while, hear myself think. I wonder if it's possible to be awake and not be bombarded with other people's noise. _______
I'd like to be a hermit, she concluded, walking through the living room into the kitchen. A quiet, happy hermit, thinking, talking or not talking, getting to choose everything about my day. Yes! _______
It wasn't logical, but it was true. Sara's walk home from school was different that day. Instead of withdrawing into her own quiet thoughts, noticing not much more than the narrow path in the snow before her, Sara felt alert and alive. She felt like singing. So she did. Humming a familiar tune, she moved happily down her path, watching others on their way about the small town. _______
"Oh, yeah, I guess I would sound pretty silly. 'I've got this owl friend who talks to me without moving his lips.' " And I might wisely point out to you, Sara, that owls do not have lips. _______
It doesn't really matter where it started, Sara. But it is important what you do with it if it comes to you. What is this all about, Sara? What has caused you to join this chain-of-pain? _______
You see, Sara, that is step two of breaking the chain-of-pain. Step one is recognizing what you don't want. Step two is then deciding what you do want. _______
Step three is the most important step, Sara, and it's the step that most people miss altogether. Step three is this: Once you have identified what it is that you do want, you must make that feel real. You must talk about why you want it, describe what it would be like to have it, explain it, pretend it, or remember another time like it - but keep thinking about it until you find that feeling place. _______
"Which are you going to eat first, the candy bar or the eraser?" "I thought I'd eat the candy bar first. I'll save the eraser for dessert!" _______
When your happiness depends on what somebody else does or does not do, you're trapped, because you cannot control what they think or what they do. You will discover a true liberation, a freedom beyond your wildest dreams, when you discover that your joy does not depend on anyone else. Your joy only depends on what you choose to give your attention to. _______
. . . if you're leaving one place or circumstance because there is negative in it, the next place you go will be pretty much the same. _______
. . . you aren't here to find perfect conditions. You're here to choose things to appreciate - which causes you to vibrate like the perfect conditions - so that you can then attract perfect conditions. _______
Things just seemed to be getting better and better. Every day seemed to have many more good things within it than bad things. _______
Sara smiled as she walked up her driveway and into her yard. She felt triumphant and strong. It felt good to leave fears behind. It felt really, really good. _______
But now you have an opportunity - because your wanting is so much greater than ever before - to see Solomon in a broader way. A more universal way. "What do you mean?" Well, most people see things only through their physical eyes, but you now have the opportunity to see things through broader eyes - more through the eyes of the true Sara that lives within the physical Sara. _______
"Thank you for not being dead." Good night, Sara. All is well. _______
When you're able to acknowledge that many people are choosing different things; they believe differently, and when you understand that all of that adds to a more perfect whole, and that none of that threatens you - because the only thing that affects you is what you're doing with your own valve - then you move about freely and joyously. _______
You are coming to understand what unconditional love really is. "Unconditional love?" Yes, Sara, you're coming to understand that you're a lover. You're a physical extension of pure, positive Nonphysical Energy, or love. And as you're able to allow that pure love Energy to flow, no matter what, in spite of the conditions that surround you - then you have achieved unconditional love. You are then, and only then, truly the extension of who you really are and who you have come here to be. You are then, and only then, truly fulfilling your purpose for being. Sara, this is very good. _______
There is a Stream of pure, positive Energy that flows to you at all times. Some may call it Life Force. It's called many different things, but it's the Stream of Energy that created your planet to begin with. And it's the Stream of Energy that continues to sustain your beautiful planet. This Stream of Energy keeps your planet spinning in its orbit in perfect proximity to other planets. This Stream maintains the perfect balance of your microbiology. This Stream maintains the perfect balance of water on your planet. This is the Stream that keeps your heart pumping, even when you're asleep. This is a wonderful, powerful Stream of Well-being, Sara, and this Stream flows to each of you every minute of your day and night. "Wow," Sara sighed, as she tried to understand this wonderful, powerful Stream. As a person living on your planet, Sarah, in any moment, you can allow or resist this wonderful Stream. You can let it flow to you and through you, or you can disallow the Stream. "Why would anyone not want this Stream?" Oh, everyone would want it, Sara, if they understood it. And no one ever resists it on purpose. They just have habits that they have learned from each other that cause resistance to this Stream of Well-being. _______
I'd like you to get the idea of relaxing toward what you do want, rather than pushing against what you do not want. Certainly, your words are an indicator of your direction, but the way you feel is even a more clear indicator of your allowing or resisting. _______
She could clearly see the dramatic definition between the land and the seas. The shorelines looked as if they had been emphasized with a giant marking pen, and the water shimmered as if there were millions of lights beneath it, lighting the seas just for her viewing from her heavenly perspective. Do you know, Sara that the water that has been nurturing your planet for millions of years is the same water that nurtures your planet today? That is Well-being, Sara, of immense proportion. Think about it, Sara. Nothing new is being trucked or flown into your planet. The immeasurable resources that exist continue to be rediscovered by generation after generation. The potential for glorious life remains constant. And physical beings discover, to varying degrees, that perfection. Let's look closer.
I’ve been a listener of Abraham Hicks for a few years now, and when I meditate and connect with my inner being, I have often thought to myself what I would call my inner being as Esther calls Abraham, and I always hear the name Sara—Unaware of this titles book...then, as I was looking into purchasing a book by Abraham, I saw the titled book Sara!!! Amazing, and the book truly delivered what I was looking for. ❤️
