A KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR Heeding the call of a lady in need is the duty of a true knight, but the damsel that MacLeod has been sent through time to protect is unlike any maiden he has ever encountered. One of the most delightful and magical books. I have read this over and over and eveyy time enjoying it from cover to cover. Christina Skye produced a classic tale that stays front and center on my keeper shelf.
I couldn't get into this story. It was slow going with way too many details and ruminating. Soon I was skipping chapters and still little action. In the parts I read there was no reference to Christmas. I jumped to last chapter, got distracted and never finished. While Hope is renovating a highland home into a hotel, she starts to fall of the roof in a storm and is rescued by Ronan on his horse.
I picked this book up because I love the Netflix Christmas RomCom “A Knight for Christmas” and I thought this book might’ve been its precursor.
My biggest complaint: a Scottish highland warrior is not a “knight” and I was disappointed to not get any scenes of full suit armor being sensually removed.
However saying that, I loved this book! I think the mystical element and the magic was really fun. I was a bit confused about the other characters that seemed to be added in, as it became busy, but I loooooved the evil detective elements.
The spice was also sweet and engrossing because Ronan and Hope were so down bad for each other.
Overall so good!

A bit dragging, love scenes and towards the end I was confused. Which ghosts they were talking about. Interesting story though and had to skip the love scenes coz I just wanted to know what happens
Just loved every word of this book. You know the kind where you want to get to the end to see how everything turns out. Yet, you are enjoying this tale you never want it to end.
When I was a teenager working the book kiosk beside the Santa stand, this was one of the books we sold and it was one of the books I read between customers. I really ended up liking Christina Skye and read the entire Draycott Abbey series. It's sappy and fun but not an amazing piece of literature.
This is a romance with a paranormal twist. Hope feels an instant connection with Glenbrae House in Scotland and spends her inheirtance on buying and fixing it up as a Bed and Breakfast. But, someone does not want her to succeed. She is down to the last of her reserves, the B&B has gotten a bad, and undeserved, rap, the roof is leaking and she needs help. The Wishwell sisters have decided to send her a Knight and he arrives just in time to keep her from breaking her neck. Ronan has no idea what or why he is now in the 20th century. He only knows that Hope is unlike any woman he has ever known, and a Knight must always rescue the fair maid in distress, except this maid is doing pretty good on her own and Ronan really does not want to start something he may not be around to finish. Hope sees Ronan as a hunk with a slight mental problem, but, what a hunk. I really liked this book and it was a fun holiday read.
Christmas Knight by Christina Skye Hope's mail is from the IRS and she owes much money and is contemplating selling the books in the library and the furnishings of the house. Maybe the gem with the certain aura can be sold to Winston for a lot of money. The storm alerts Rory to come from the cliffs to save her. He is from the past but now trapped in the present time with no way to get back... She wakes in his tower bedroom where he's put his arm around her where she can't get up. They hope that the lure of the ghosts and the abbey as an Inn will help get them an income that others will want to come visit. Gabriel and Jeffrey had rigged the house with ghost sounds.... a knight in shining armor and he's there to protect her. With the cat Gideon magic happens. They have language and clothing barriers and are able to communicate with one another through body language... There are other powers that are in control. Fire hot steamy sex scenes add to this book.
Amazingly enough, a Christina Skye novel in which the Hero is not a brute that I'd like to smack. He's plenty alpha and from the past, but he's not an ass. In fact he's very honorable and careful with Hope because he has no idea when he's going to be sent back in time. Hope gets a little frustrating with her insistence that Ronan is probably insane and that he's definitely not from the past - surprise! There's also a significant degree of magic and paranormal here, as Adrian Draycott is somewhat corporeal and three witches interfere in Hope and Ronan's affairs. But this is really a good story and the romance is quite lovely!

I enjoyed Christmas Knight as a simple time-travel romance with a little Christmas thrown in. I'm not sure if I missed out by not reading the other books in the Draycott Abbey series, but I certainly didn't feel lost while reading C.K. There were some paranormal elements thrown in (not of the vampire or werewolf variety though) that added a little extra something to the story which made for a more interesting read. I had a few small annoyances with the book, but it could have been a much worse read. Overall, I liked it so I'm rating it 3 stars.
Four stars because it was a wonderful little Christmas story with some light intrigue and a cute romance. Just the thing I wanted to read a week before Christmas :)
