Overall I think it was a pretty good book. There was a lot of great information in it. If you have already taken one or more reiki classes you know a good chunk of the info. I really got into it more towards the end. I didn’t agree. With every single thing he said but I do think and agree with like 99.99% of it and I think it’s a great book to read if you’re thinking about getting reiki certified or anything like that. Knowing the history and what it is and means is soo important. I feel like there are so many people going and becoming reiki practitioners and even “masters” without having the respect for everything it is and is not.

Good detailed information about what Reiki is and what it is not. Thank you, EllaCroney Author of Forever Young

Excellent background information about Reiki's beginning. Also what it is and is not, letting us know the hand positions were not part of Usui Reiki. Thank you.

It is good to have another from the outside looking in at Reiki. Takata sensei was of Japanese heritage but born in Hawaii. Frank Petter is German who first learned Reiki from Takata's lineage then wnet to Japan to learn again.

In sum, I see more harmony than dissonance.

A must read for every Reiki practitioner, especially those who still believe in "christian legend" of Mikao Usui. The author, Petter, has done a lot of research to provide readers with this book and the true history of Reiki. Along with history, Petter provides us with tips and additional practical information about Reiki practice. This book will improve the way how you work with Reiki energy.

This book was a good review on reiki 1 and 2. It also has many examples of how to use reiki and different meditation techniques to help focus or ground yourself. I liked how it explains the levels of consciousness and tuning in to your higher conscious. I also found it useful how it explained how to do affirmations, reiki for people in pain or dying.
