Allegro Romani is a fairy. Literally. Disowned by his family because of his sexual orientation, he’s left the Fae realm for Earth. He’s done all right for himself, establishing a small store in a paranormal-friendly town. He’s even made a few friends, despite his awkward social skills. But one day a week, everything goes to hell.

Alli is a Fayte, and they don’t tend to fare very well out of the magic-laden air of their home world. Once a week, their body rebels. And the result? A day full of the worst luck imaginable. For Alli, that day is always Friday. He’s come to dread them and would, in fact, spend every Friday tucked up in bed with the covers over his head if he could. But he’s found out from past experience that it doesn’t help, so now he just grits his teeth and tries to get through Friday without killing himself. Or someone else.

Then one particular Friday, his bad luck results in something surprisingly good. He meets a gorgeous bear-shifter named Michael Lakkis. And despite seeing Alli at his worst, Michael isn’t running the opposite direction. In fact, he’s chasing down Alli with resolve and determination.

Now Alli just has to find a way to keep his bear-shifter, get rid of the trouble plaguing him, and figure out who wants him out of Putman County for good. It’s enough to make any sane fairy run for the hills. Fortunately, Alli has never been accused of being particularly sane. And with his new bear at his side? Alli is determined to hang onto his new life. Bad luck or no bad luck...

Good Luck is a funny and charming take on Shifters and Fae. The author did some quality world building blending fantasy into a contemporary setting with lots of humor and well placed conflict.

Poor Alli was run out of his realm because of his sexuality and he’s made a life in the human world, but unfortunately his magic is a little wonky here and has a tendency to be destructive and for Alli that happens on Fridays. He’s learned to just deal with it and the rest of the town has as well, even though his issues don’t exactly make him popular with his neighbors. On top of that, he’s a bit socially awkward and a smidge grumpy so he spends a lot of time alone with his plants. He’s gotten used to that life and has resigned himself to being a solo and slightly sad Alli.

Obviously that makes him the perfect character to get in the sights of one perpetually happy and very determined bear shifter named Michael. Michael is attracted to Alli from the start and ends up being completely charmed by his quirks. While Alli uses his bad luck as a way to keep others at arms-length, Michael sees it as a perfect opportunity to get closer. That bit of conflict led to my favorite thing about this story, how the characters worked through their own issues and communication problems so they could be together for the long haul.

Alli and Michael live in Putman County which is very paranormal friendly, even though most of the citizens keep their paranormal-ness under wraps out in public. The towns’ deputy, Chris, is human, but he’s very in tune with the goings on in his territory. He’s fiercely protective of Alli and I really liked his character throughout the story. Anywho, as I said, Putman County is full of paranormals and there are mysterious shenanigans going on that seem to be threatening All’s well-being and are making Michael a grumbly overly protective bear. That conflict wasn’t what I got into, what I got into was how Alli and Michael dealt with it all. Honestly, you could have replaced the otherworldly threats with something else and the problems these guys had would have been the same. The fantasy aspect made it more fun for sure, but I appreciated how the author didn’t discount, or rush through the communication for the sake of some fantastical excitement.

Alli is prickly to protect himself and Michael is persistent. Alli’s biggest fear is getting attached to someone and then having the object of his attachment get tired of his bad luck and decide he’s not worth it. Michael is loyal to the core and does everything in his arsenal to prove that to Alli. Both of them had completely valid feelings throughout and their resolution wasn’t easily won, but that’s what made it more valuable and believable in the end.

The characters in Good Luck are the strength in the story. Michael, his family and Chris are funny and the kind of characters you want to meet in real life and hang out with. Alli was a little harder to warm up to and for good reason, the poor guy hasn’t had it easy and his tough shell is understandable. I liked reading his evolution into a more openly loving being as he slowly let Michael into his world. The two of them ended up being perfect together and their HEA was obvious and swoonworthy in the end.

This is just a really sweet story!
Poor Alli is a banished Fairy and because of how is magic works here he has a lot of bad luck.( serious BAD luck lol)
And Friday's are the worst! ( no TGIF for him), so he is understandably grumpy and prickly.
Then Michael enters his world and his luck isn't quite so bad anymore! There is a stalker issue and Michaels crazy family plays a role too, but all in all it's just a feel good story and I had to laugh at some of Allie's disasters.

Cute story. I liked it, but wish a content editor had been a bit more attentive, as Alli is apparently as surprised to learn that Michael is a bear the second time he hears it as he was the first. I had to read back a few paragraphs after the second one, trying to figure out what I'd missed because surely he wasn't surprised by information he already had?? But yeah, somehow Alli didn't seem to know Michael was a bear even though they'd just had that very conversation a few pages earlier.

Also, I think I liked some of the secondary characters almost more than the main characters. I really want to read Chris' story and Tristan's story (or Chris and Tristan's story?).

A “not-so-normal fairy” and a bear shifter just sounded like too interesting a combination to try to resist. Adding elements like a paranormal-friendly town, notorious bad luck that gets worse one day a week, and an encounter that leads to seduction of the determined kind, and I was not going to let this one get away. Luckily the story turned out to be even better than I expected. I was pulled in not only by the fascinating characters and their extremely amusing antics, but also by the excellent supporting cast, the elements of suspense around Alli’s very persistent but mysterious enemy, and a romance that sizzles with tension and heat from almost page one.

Alli has been disowned by his traditional, homophobic family when they caught him with his lover and the lover accused Alli of seducing him against his will. Alli left the Fae realm to make his home on Earth, running a flower shop. It hasn’t been easy, especially because he is a Fayte and needs to bleed off his excess magic regularly – which he can’t do on Earth – or face an explosive release once a week. In his case, this means the worst bad luck you can imagine. Alli has given up all hope of ever having a partner; for one thing he wouldn’t want to subject them to his accident-prone self, and for another, he can’t believe anyone would want to stick with him once they figure it out.

Michael is a bear shifter looking for some peace and quiet, away from the city where his bear is deeply unhappy. He has bought a cabin in the woods somewhere in the mountains, but as soon as he enters the town, his car breaks down, he saves a cute stranger from being run over by a van, and gets pulled into the most incredible situations – starting with the local deputy telling him the stranger’s name is Alli and that Michael is responsible for making sure Alli survives the concussion obtained when falling over his own two feet – after the van had long departed.

Alli and Michael are super cute together. Alli is determined not to be tempted by the gorgeous man, mainly because he is sure he will leave anyway. Michael falls for Alli hard and fast and is equally determined for them to become lovers, maybe more. Alli tries not to get used to Michael protecting him- and gets angry when Michael overdoes it. Michael gets all growly because Alli won’t accept his help. With someone out to hurt Alli it quickly becomes apparent that Alli needs all the help he can get, but it doesn’t make it any easier for him – or their budding relationship - when Michael’s brothers turn up, intent on protecting both of them...

If you like your romances with lots of humor, action, and friendly family ribbing, if you want to watch two supernaturals from different species figure out how to work together, and if you’re looking for a read that is as hilarious as it is scorching, then you will probably like this novel as much as I do. It’s full of surprising twists and turns, refreshingly humorous, and the romance is passion-filled yet never mushy. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series!

How how I loved thee. This would have been a 5 star read from me, but 3 things bothered me

I am not a stickler on grammar, punctuation, or minor editing errors. 75% of the time I am so involved in the story that I don't even notice them. Did I pick up on anything in here? Nope.

Alli is a Fayte banished from Faerie due to his sexual orientation. Yeah, I know, you'd figure being paranormal those things wouldn't bother people, but apparently homophobia is everywhere. He's so magical that his magic overflows and thus causes destruction here on Earth. When in Faerie his magic was absorbed in the land making their plants very "happy". Earth, however, caused him to be the world's unluckiest fairy/guy there is. Klutz doesn't even begin to describe it, but luckily it only happens on Friday;s :) He's a florist and owns his own shop, Flora. Flora is his sanctuary. He feels at home there and doesn't feel the homesickness as much.

 photo red-hair_zps98f253f6.jpg

Michael, is trying to get away from his bear shifting family. He needs space so he decides to buy a hunting cabin in the middle of nowhere. He has no plans to hunt, but he'll be safe to shift and roam. On his way to his cabin he sees a truck coming towards a red-head and immediately tries to save him. Little did he know that the guy he saved would change his life. Michael is a good natured sort of guy, laid back, gentle, placid, etc. Took a lot of rile him up, but when you did...

 photo SpectacledBear5_zpsb63f08a1.jpg

Michael knows he wants to get to know Alli more, but realizes that Alli is skittish. He slowly gets Alli to come around, yet, Alli still keeps him at arms length--and he calls Michael stubborn! When Alli is threatened Michael pulls out all the stops. Alli doesn't seem to like that much, but Michael won't take any chances.

I want to know more about Chris. There's something about him that appeals to me and I want to know more :) Tristan, too, but I see he has his own book!!!

I want to move to Putnam County!

Hm.

Okay, the good? A delightfully quirky and warped sense of humour. Nice characters, a nice setting. A certain level of realism that was not depressing, while still revelling in the non-perfection of everything. Such as people getting annoyed with one another’s minor (and even major) traits despite falling in love. Certainly no perfection in body, mind, attitude or anything else, which made it feel that much more real. That and the fact that they focused on sex in a single-minded, irritation-inducing-if-thwarted way that felt entirely male in its simplicity. Extremely good thing as well (and I dimly recall as much from the author’s other work that I read) how the guys did not conform to the usual stereotypical role division. Yeah, you could say Michael was the growly, overprotective shifter, while Alli made for a commitment-shy, argumentative, heroine-replacing bottom boy. Except that’s simply not how it worked here.

On the downside, maybe, I kept feeling as though I was missing something for a while. Maybe some joke or the references they made, the speed with which they moved forward in their conversations. Speed was a thing in general; not so much accelerated events, but slightly abbreviated storytelling. Not necessarily a bad thing… But definitely not the usual fare. So it was disorienting for a bit. Time in general was a bit hazy. When Michael mentions it’s been only a week since they met I did a double take since I’d gotten the impression of several weeks of dating at that point.

Oh, and the writing may not have been stellar at all times… Not that I care right now. Go, figure.

All in all, it was entertaining, and that sense of “they’re total guys, so very normal” had its perks, not the least of which being how it offset the ludicrously paranormal backdrop.

So. Not the happiest or mushiest romance around, but definitely a nice story with a great deal of snarky fun.

Alli is a very unlucky fae. After being rejected by his people for being gay, he’s forced to live in the human world, however his magic reacts badly on earth and he ends up being a walking disaster. Michael is a bear shifter whose seeking something more and decides to settle in the same town which is known to be friendly to paranormals. He literally saves Alli from being run down in the street and somehow is tasked with caring for him. Alli has attitude. He has no intention of getting close to anyone because he’s been burned and he doesn’t want someone to have his bad luck. However Michael doesn’t take no for an answer and basically insinuates himself in Alli’s life. When someone attacks Alli’s shop writing gay slurs on the walls and suddenly seem to be stalking him, Michael calls on his family for help along with the local deputy who keeps an eye on Alli. I really liked this story. The difference between cynical crabby Alli and go with the flow mellow Michael was fun to watch. I enjoyed seeing Alli bowled over by a guy he couldn’t scare off. So all in all a really cute story with a touch of stalker. :-) But it wasn’t really a major part of the story, it was more Alli dealing with his bad luck and watching Michael break down his walls.

I liked the idea of mixing a shifter with a fairy in a romance story and enjoyed the paranormal town Ms Mahoney created. I would have enjoyed the story much more without Alli's incessant squeaks and squeals. Both Chris and Michael were good characters. The story itself was good though a little too sweet for me.

This was not the book I expected. It was cute and funny. It was a simple book that was easy to read. Uncomplicated and sweet, I enjoyed reading it. The characters were likable and funny. The plot revolved around the romance with a dash of mystery. For a comfort read it is perfect.

Good Luck is a revised and re-released novel by K.M. Mahoney—the first in her Putnam County series, and it is a hot mess in many ways! First off I mean that with utter kindness—this is a good story and the two main characters, Alli and Michael, are just so endearing. I defy anyone not to like the two men just on personality alone. Here is where this author really shines in her ability to create fantastical people who immediately make you smile and truly want to see succeed. The problem is there just isn’t enough of how these two got to this point in their lives to make this story feel more complete. This novel feels unfinished—I realize it is the setup to a series, and it has its fair share of secondary characters that piqued my interest; however, this little book tried to be too many things—a paranormal love story, a mystery and a fantasy world builder. By the time it was done trying to take on so many roles, it struggled to fulfill any one of its initial goals. Still, it was sweet, at times clever, and most assuredly a good start to what I hope the author will one day expand beyond the two story set currently available.

The story opens with us meeting the poor Fayte, Allegro, whose earthbound magic tends to erupt into nightmare situations every Friday. It’s as if all the magic this fairy has stays bottled up, and what he cannot pour off into the greenhouse he so lovingly maintains in his shop, comes bursting out in the direst of ways. Accidents don’t just happen to Alli, they hunt him down and nearly kill him every Friday, like clockwork. Anything from inadvertently unleashing a demon to an unsuspecting local coven to nearly killing a neighbor’s dog, if it can go wrong, it does for our poor Alli. On this particular day, it is a new bear shifter in town, Michael, who comes to Alli’s aid and saves him from being run down in the street. And the rest…is magic.

These two swiftly become inseparable, and Michael throws everything he has into seducing the standoffish Alli who, in turn, is a master at erecting barriers to keep his heart intact. All that might be struggle enough for our two men, if there was not someone trying to send Alli a very important and dangerous message—to get out of town, or else. With the help of the local police, Michael and Alli try to discover who is threatening to do Alli harm. The answer is shocking and nearly ends the tenuous relationship Alli and Michael have started.

There were many things that readers will find delightful about this story. The chemistry between Michael and Alli is palpable and slow burning even though a mere two weeks pass before they are professing love to each other. That may seem fast, but I actually felt it really worked in this case. The author sets us up in a fantasy world—a town where many paranormals interact with humans—and makes the setting fairly believable. I think that was helped by the policeman, Chris, who is one of Alli’s fiercest protectors and friends. His character and the way in which it is written adds a real sense of normalcy to an otherwise crazy setting. However, it’s not just the local law enforcement that gives this story charm; our two MCs have that in spades. Alli may seem rather prickly at first, but it is a defense mechanism to hide a very wounded fairy. The way in which he was banished from the fayte world to Putnam was devastating for him, and he misses it terribly. It takes someone as steady and open as Michael to show him how to trust again, and even that he does with great reluctance.

Michael is simply magical. He is, by far, my favorite character in this novel, and his extended family is hilarious. They are everything Alli’s family was not. His interaction with his brothers is perhaps the most endearing and funniest of passages in the book. However, it is when he first sees Alli with his wings that I think we get the real breadth of his character—that passage is so well done. I loved Michael and his tenacity in pursuing his recalcitrant fairy and, thankfully, that stubbornness of his pays off or this novel would have had a very different ending.

The real problem in Good Luck is the mystery element that hit big and then fizzled. I kept waiting for this huge confrontation, for real danger and potential bodily harm to be levied against Alli, but that never materialized. Instead, we got this rather lame reason for all the chaos that happened and the threatening message left in Alli’s destroyed shop. It was anti-climactic, to say the least, and simply did not deliver the punch it should have in order to make this a satisfying thriller. Instead, I felt the mystery element was just a failed attempt and really took precious page time away from unpacking both Michael and Alli’s past—something I would have happily read more about.

In the end, Good Luck is a sweet paranormal romance that attempted to be something it wasn’t and, in doing so, left the evolving relationship between the two main characters a bit unfinished. Even so, I would happily read the second installment in this series, which has not yet been re-published but I hope is still available under the original release format.

K.M. Mahoney is an author who's new to me. I have no idea what made me buy this book but I'm glad I did.

Lucky was one of those books that's just plain 'ol cute. Alli was like a grumpy old man trapped in the body of a fairy. At first I was kind of annoyed with Alli's woe-is-me attitude. Once I found out why he thought everyone disliked him though, I was no longer annoyed. When you cause small scale disasters almost everywhere you go...yeah, people might not like you so much after a while.

Michael wasn't as cute as Alli but he was a pretty adorable in his romantic pursuit. He puts up with a lot of crap from Alli throughout the book (in the form of Alli pushing him away) but it never made me dislike Alli. I wanted Alli and Michael to be together and saw what would make Alli worth the trouble.

The secondary characters had a lot of sparkle. Michael's brother Evan was pretty funny and I liked the conversations that the brothers had. Chris the almost-sheriff was a mysterious guy, in that I couldn't figure out what his deal was. Was he psychic? Was he a special kind of paranormal? It was sweet that he watched out and was always there for Alli.

That brings me to Michael's oldest brother. Tristan came in at the end of the book. He was sexy, very sexy, and funny in his own way. Tristan definitely needs his own story. I'm hoping there is also a book where Alli's younger brother, Maggi, crosses over and comes to Earth.

I know I really liked a book when I start hoping that secondary characters get their own books. I will definitely buy any sequels to this book.

I enjoyed this story with Allie and Michael. Allie is a faery whose magic gets out of control at times and causes unlucky things to happen to himself and those near him at the time. He moved to the country of Putnam after being cast out of faery land by his family for being gay. There he meets newcomer Michael. Michael is an spectacle bear shifter who has bought a hunting cabin in the area so he can let his bear Bruce roam around.

This story was cute and I loved Michael and also Allie. I would have given this book four stars despite some grammar and typing errors I found, but I didn't because a couple of times Allie acted more like a chick with dick than what I think would have been the normal reaction from a man.

3.5 stars. Alli and Michael were really very cute together. Michael the typical cuddly bear and Alli was sweet with the right amount of snark. The build-up to the climax was nice, but the moment itself was a huge let down and kind of fizzled out.

The storytelling itself was nicely done, though there were moments when it felt off. Maybe forced or...I don't know, maybe more motherly than loverly? It's hard to put my finger on, but it just felt off every now and then.

All in all, a nice, sweet read.

Making Fridaes a little easier to Bear

Short fae/shifter novel of light curses, sidhe exhile, and steadfastly grizzled protectors, with some m/m romantic sweetness

I’m a sucker for fae-themed stories, and Michael’s strong and steadfast bear shifter made a nice foil to fairie benighted by his past fayte.

3.5 stars - rounded up for an over-the-top fey who is both sympathatic and obnoxiously overwrought at the same time, as a fae should be

This review can be found at The Armchair Reader.

The blurb does a very good job of describing what the story is about so I won’t go on to repeat that. It’s a cute read with some humor and funny scenarios thrown in. I found I really enjoyed it.

One of the things I really liked about the story is the fact Alli has such horrible luck. In general, he’s always clumsy but on Fridays, everything always goes wrong to the point of almost getting killed multiple times. He’s lonely but he doesn’t want to subject anyone to his wayward magic so he pushes everyone away in hopes of not hurting others. He’s sweet but socially awkward so even though he’s polite, it’s hard for him to make friends.

Michael is completely different. He bought a hunting cabin in Putman County where you can’t even hunt but as a bear shifter, having his own land is what mattered most to him. Plus, getting out of the city and away from his family for a while had its merits. He’s big, determined and patient. He knows he wants Alli and he’ll do everything he can to prove to Alli that they’d be good together. Another thing I enjoyed was that he’s a different kind of shifter. I haven’t read many books about bear shifters so it was a treat getting to see Michael’s bear side – who he named Bruce – be playful and connect just as much with Alli as Michael does.

Their time together is cute, it made me smile almost the whole time because of how clumsy Alli is and how much trouble he tended to get into. I loved the way Michael handled and accepted Alli when Alli revealed his true self with Michael. Some minor conflicts happen within the story – a little mystery, another suitor – where Michael gets protective and possessive of Alli. While they moved the story along, I felt like the main focus was of Alli’s development and how he comes to terms with Michael and everything Michael makes him face.

All in all, this was a nice read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We got to meet Michael’s brothers which was very fun. This one left me with a smile on my face when I finished the book so I’m really looking forward to the next in the series, Tristan.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

oh. my.days!

I LOVED this book!! I've read one other book by Mahoney, Learning To Love Cats, and I loved that too. I just didn't realise it was the same author until after I had read it. I LOVE this author's sense of humour!

Alli is fairy, Fayte no less. Which means, while he is residing on Earth, his magic explodes in such a way that the whole day is full of bad luck. Broken pots, falls down stairs, almost run over by a speeding truck! Anything and everything happens to Alli, every single friday. One such day, Michael arrives in town, and saves Alli from said truck. Michael is a bear shifter, getting out of the city, away from it all, to a place where he, and Bruce (loved that!) his bear can run free. Alli's bad luck turns nasty, and Michael and Alli are pulled together, in an effort to see who really is behind the destruction of his beloved flower shop, and who doesn't want them to be together.

I cannot express just how much I loved this book. Seriously, it was just the thing i needed after a much darker, heavier book, and this book hit that spot so darn hard!

It's funny, laugh out loud in some places. It's also painful, when Alli recall why he had to leave his home and be on Earth. It's heartwarming, when Michael's brothers are together. It's (in my humble opinion) laying down future books, and we'll see whether I'm right on that one.

Both Michael, and Alli have a say. Oh, I should say, they ALL have a say, because we get just a snippet of Bruce, Michael's bear, just a tiny paragraph but I loved that we did. Since Michael gave him a name, he needed that little say. Says what he needed to, in the most perfect way, too.

Because for Michael and Alli, there is none of that MINE MINE MINE moment you usually get with shifters and I LOVED that. Their attraction is powerful, but their love grows, beautifully. Only Bruce has that MINE saying and I loved that.

I can't keep saying I LOVED it, but I did. so...

Book & Author: Good Luck by K.M. Mahoney
Rating: 4.5 Stars

I really just want to thank the author for writing Alli because I loves him so much. Here this poor man has been run out of his home in Fae realm trying to make it on earth where every Friday his day goes to crap due to his magic needing an outlet he longer has, which usually ends in him being injured. Even with all this going on he is still just a sweet loveable guy who doesn’t believe anyone could want him. Especially not one sexy bear shifter he is growing to really like. Oh, but he is oh so sassy and strong and will not let anyone push him around. Not always the smartest plan when someone is after you.

Michael and his family made me laugh. I love that Michael, a bear shifter, was just a big cuddle bug who was almost instantly attracted to Alli just wants to get to know the man, bad luck and all, and he is determined to not let Alli push him away because he knows that Alli is his Chosen and not even Alli will break that up. Michael is the best bear for Alli because as much as he is just a sweet lovey kind of guy he does have a protective streak just for Alli, one that will not allow Alli to push him away or go it alone in life.

This story was funny and snarky with many secondary characters I would love to get to know more in their own stories. Chris, the sheriff, is usually around when you need him, even if Michael doesn’t understand how he knows what he does. Tristan, Michael’s older brother, was this big tough guy that I think probably is a big softy inside like his brother. The town of Putnam was a character it of itself with witches, werewolves, vampires, and more! The mystery of who was after Alli, once revealed, was one I didn’t see coming. I had some idea of who I thought it was going to be but I was wrong!

I will be looking forward to reading more about Putnam and all its inhabitants!

A Joyfully Jay review.

4.25 stars

The blurb for this story caught my interest, and it seemed like a fun and interesting story. I definitely enjoyed myself and, while there were parts that seemed a little too predictable, I thought it was a nice story.

First off, we have Alli, and he’s the reason I picked up this book. I really liked the way the author peppered his accidents and bad luck throughout the story. It worked for me, never seemed contrived, and every new thing that happened just fit with all the things that came before. I couldn’t help but feel for the poor guy. And his attitude about life in general really fit in with the hand he’d been dealt. Underneath everything, there was a layer of hurt that just made sense. After everything that’s happened to him, and the way he’s had to live for the past three years, I understood exactly where Alli was coming from. I liked that he had strength underneath his attitude, and he was sweet, shy, and just adorable. So from the very beginning, I was invested in Alli and his story.

It made total sense that Alli would not trust Michael’s intent right away, and then later, keep him at a little bit of a distance. I loved that Michael was persistent without being scary. He knew what he wanted and he wasn’t going to take no for an answer…but only because he knew that Alli was interested too. As their relationship progresses, Michael’s possessive nature comes out. He is part bear after all. And this worked really well. What I particularly liked was that, when it went a step too far for Alli, Alli called him on it and they had a frank and real conversation about it.

When it comes to my proclivity for shifter books, I tend not to read ones that involve fairies. Why you say? Well, honestly I do not know why. I can only assume that I feel that they are not dangerous or sexy enough. Yet, I stand before you now a changed person. I really did enjoy this book. Sure it needs some refinement, but overall the bones of the story are good.

If you think this is your run of the mill shifter book, it isn’t. In this story, there is no true mate or really anything to do with mates. It is just two beings finding one another attractive and giving it a go. However, the attraction between Alli and Michael progresses pretty quickly; not to mention it happens within a two-week time frame. Therefore, the chemistry between the two MC’s it is pretty intense, well that is when Allie of course is not trying to push Michael away.

There are a few instances that I wish that the author went into more detail. One being what is so amazing/different about a speckled bear. Well, besides him being a vegetarian of course. In addition, there is a part in the book near the beginning where the reader might be a bit confused, but no worries the author eventually answers it for you. Just be patient.

I feel that the HEA that the author ended with was very suitable for Alli and thank god Michael is so understanding! Though I think more editing needs to be done with this book, it doesn't deter me from wanting to know what happens next. Especially if it involves Tristan.

Good Luck was such a cute and funny read. Alli is a fairy exiled to Earth because his community is caught him with another male. Because of the type of fairy he is, his magic doesn’t react well outside of his homeland and builds up. Then every Friday, Alli experiences back luck all day long. He wants to go back home but knows it will never happen so he’s resigned to his fate, getting by from week to week until Michael runs into him, literally.

Michael is a bear shifter that heard of this town friendly to shifters and on a whim bought a cabin. He just arrived in town when he saves Alli from being hit by a runaway van. The two are thrown together and Michael just stuck like glue. Alli couldn’t decide if that was a good or bad thing because once people experienced the bad luck, they usually left. Alli didn’t want to get attached to Michael but Michael was consistent and persistent. Really happy-lucky-go about the bad luck, and just what Alli needed.

The pacing was great, the relationship between Alli and Michael both fun and endearing. The intrigue with the person terrorizing Alli came to a satisfactory conclusion, even if it was slightly predictable. I did question my assumption a couple of times, so two thumbs up for the misdirection. Michael’s family was hilarious and I loved them to pieces. I look forward to seeing more of them and hope Michael’s oldest brother is in a future installment. This series has started out great and I can’t wait to see what else is revealed about Putman County.

A very enjoable shifter story, featuring the fae Allegro and a bear-shifter Michael Lakkis and their journey to happily ever after. The writing is pretty nice and there are a lot of interesting supporting characters, I hope to see in future books, like Michaels brother Tristan!

Allegro is somewhat of a backluck magnet, especially at Friday and of course that's the day he meets Michael, who's family also is know to be quite ecentric in the shifter world. Alli is not all that happy about being rescued by the bear-shifter, in fact he is quite cranky and doesn't want to be close to anybode, so as not to hurt them. Someone has been targeting Alli and wants him to leave Putman County, which is a safe heaven for all magical beings.
Michel felt in love pretty quickly and usually I don't like that, but here is did fit the story and it wasn't overblown, with constant declarations of love. Also a lot of other things happened, that this was not the main focus of the story.

The romance is pretty sweet and I liked Bruce, the bear. :)

This was just as sweet and easy as I like my books more often than not. No drama and no heavy angst that takes the enjoyment from the story. (Not said that I don't want angst and some drama now and then.)

It was a paranormal but bordering to fantasy as there was no "our world" present. The story was set in a town with only paranormal people living there. Michael is a bear, literally. Alli is a fairy, literally. They fall in love in quite a uncomplicated way and reading about it is more fun that serious. :)

This was a delightful read! The characters were quirky, their dialogue was witty and fun, and Michael's family was a hoot. I really loved Alli and felt bad for all the bad luck he had, but I loved Michael's persistence in creating a relationship with him. And Bruce was adorable too! I would be interested in more from this author, and even reading more of this, like other characters in the same town. I really enjoyed this.

Loved Allegro. Considering I usually have a coupld of bruises on me at any one time due to clumsiness, and the fact I can actually catch things I drop a lot of the time before I realise I've dropped them, well, I really found his situation to be familiar. And Michael was everything you want in a MC without being too unrealistic.

This was just FUN! Poor Alli is Fayte, disowned and kicked out just be cause he's gay. His magic works different here, it's like it stores itself up and needs an outlet once a week. So his Friday's are always "bad luck" Fridays, no TGIF! But then he meets Michael a Bear Shifter who takes his bad luck in stride, just what Alli needs. Now I want to read the rest of the series....

I enjoyed it, but if the author does not get her facts stright, I doubt I'll read anything else by her. She repeats things she wrote 20 pages before and changes the outcome. That's worse that being repetitive. Rounded up for the great idea.

This is a very nice read! Alli the unlucky fairy and Michael the ever-optimistic bear shifter are delightful MCs. The supporting cast is equally entertaining. The story moves along well, and the wrap-up is not too abrupt. I am definitely looking forward to more from this author!
