This was my fourth Elyse Fitzpatrick book, and it doesn’t disappoint! A raw, honest look at suffering and keeping a steadfast heart against the backdrop of Psalm 57. Several sections were hard to read as they were very poignant and relevant to things in my own life, but Elyse does a wonderful job balancing personal experience and God’s Truth. Such an encouraging read!

This book. It took me almost two years to work through it. TWO years. I would read it, run through every emotion I had... Anger, fear, hope, disappointment, conviction, etc. I would put the book away for months and then take it back out, and gently tip toe through a chapter, almost afraid of the truths I knew it would contain. Tonight, in His perfect timing, I finished it, at just the moment my heart was ready for what I read.

I enjoyed reading this book much more than the others I've been reading lately. The author penned a solid, meaty narrative that at the same time was relatable to the average woman. While, for once, I believe I am part of the target audience, I think this book is meant for a more in depth read than I gave it (or most books for that matter). I gleaned a lot from it but know that more could be gleaned from closer study.
I definitely recommend this book.

How to look for and see God at work in our lives. Trusting Him and loving Him, finding our peace, comfort and answers in Him, during our most difficult challenges/circumstances. This author shares herself as well as her knowledge. I would highly recommend this book.

I wanted to like this book, but it just didn’t do it for me. I was disappointed. The beginning was written a little sloppy and was hard to follow, there were some concepts that seemed contradictory to me, and felt like there was a lot of *fluff* and not as much depth as expected. I don’t think this book taught me more than a what a few Pinterest quotes would have. So many others appear to have enjoyed it though, and I think that’s great if this worked for them! Sadly, it just wasn’t for me.

Biblically comforting and encouraging, especially while walking through dark seasons. Good preparation for those times to come if you haven't walked through them yet.
