It's a comic about a post-apocalyptic world with Zombies. I usually don't read about it but I enjoyed this one. it was a very fast, scary and nice reading. Now I can't wait to read the second volume to know how it ends.
An Egyptian sarcophagus is opened on live television, against the dire warnings of the discoverer, and it unleashes a zombie like creature amongst the population. The disease it carries spreads immediately with a single bite. Now the race is on to discover a way to stop the spread before it consumes all. First they must discover who sealed the creature in the sarcophagus to begin with.
The action begins almost immediately and never let's up! I'm intrigued about how this creature came to be sealed in an ancient sarcophagus, and who put it there. What are all the strange markings on the sarcophagus? Was the creature human at one time, or is it alien?
I like that the artwork is black & white with grey shading. I think color would be too distracting to the plot. The characters are all very distinctive and I like the overall look to the manga.
The pacing was very fast and held my interest until the end. I'm looking forward to the next book, where I hope we will see a bit of a slow down to the pacing and a bit more character development.

Title: Pandora: End of All Days Author: Peter J. Ang Series: Pandora #1 Illustrator: Jin Song Kim Genre: Supernatural, manga, YA Overall Rating: 4 stars
Something interesting is going down in New Jersey, an ancient Sarcophagus is about to be opened and it's going to be the greatest discovery of the modern day...or so everyone thought. But when it's open, against a professors warnings, a plague is released that turns people into zombies! Can the Professor's daughter save herself, her town and her dad's reputation from this plague? Or will she become one of them?
This was great! The first manga I've ever read, the drawings were excellent and I really enjoyed the story. It has a lot of potential and I don't really have any criticisms. I enjoyed this and I'll be looking out for Volume Two!
I enjoyed this zombie graphic novel, I thought it was an enjoyable read! The art in this book was amazing, I loved the images of the zombies and how cool they looked! The only reason it didn't get a higher rating was due to the fact I really wasn't understanding the story, and also due to the quick ending it had, I was confused as to why it ended the way it did. But anyway, I would recommend it if you want a quick, zombie read!
The art style of this graphic novel is absolutely stunning. I was in awe with every page, examined every stroke, every fabric detail. As an artist myself, I can imagine how difficult it is to put such detail into so many pages. I am so impressed! The story was also good. I don't read or watch too many zombie/monster related things, but really enjoyed what seems like a fresh take on the genre. It was easy to follow along what was happening and interesting enough to have me pining for more. I highly recommend to any and all zombie enthusiast!
Pandora: End of Days is a kind of modern, western manga set in NJ that is fun and quick to get into the action. Starring a young high school girl (as all mangas must) who is the daughter of a celebrated archeologist and scientist. Her father works for a shady corporation who has been researching a mysterious series of archeological finds for decades and is now set on opening a sarcophagus on live broadcast from a museum. As expected things don't go well.
The creatures/zombies are vicious and frightening and seem varied in nature. Perhaps indicating mutation in the future. There's a bit of a surprise in a fight near the end with a creature who is reminiscent of HR Giger's monster in the movie Alien, but I won't spoil that for you.
Overall, a fun, rather short, first volume manga. I read it in less than an hour and I am looking forward to the second volume. Recommended for zombie lovers and fans of quick, slice and dice horror!
Read this while at home social distancing during the Covid-19 pandemic. Maybe not the best pairing. LOL. It was fine, nice art (though a little more fan service in the beginning than I needed).
I thought the drawing was very well done, and the story was not bad. I have found the lack of rating for many manga books very frustrating, therefore making trying to find appropriate manga books for my son very difficult. With this said I would rate this book as T for teen, given violent images, slight language and a picture of two that have a bit of skin, or so it appears at least. I read this one on my Kindle and so it was not in color, but still I felt it came through well, even in this format.
Great illustrations, terrifying monsters/zombies, and a good bit of intrigue. Overall a great graphic novel, feel like a bit more could have happened but I suppose they are dragging it out to be a big series.
Great art work.....love the simple design and texture of the images....the story is a good twist on the standard zombie horror, so its a great read...can't wait to pick up volume 2....
