I had the pleasure of editing this book for Bobbs-Merrill back in the 70s. Lifelong music fan that I am, I found this to be a highly entertaining and revealing look at the business of making and selling records (remember those?).

Good read about how an album came together from concept to hitting the racks. Starring Commander Cody.

This is a really remarkable book on the music industry circa 1977. You follow a relatively well known group (at the time) as they try to breaking through with a major hit. You get a deep sense of what many groups face as they attempt to turn record deals into financially successful careers.
