The Bina Shea call us a 'Dead Swarm'. We may resemble a swarm, but we're not quite dead yet. We are very much alive. We're human. Always remain human, as Prometheus used to say. These words can have many meanings but right now, their message is perfectly clear to all of us Incarnators.
You who are reading these lines, we're about to face death because we want to stay human.
Ave!
Guided by Prometheus's directive, Grey and his fellow Incarnators are heading for the Black Moon in order to complete Stellar's final mission.
Accompanied by the allied Swarm of the Bina Shea, they must transport the Nucleus into the hostile depths of the anomalous planetoid. But in order to do so, they must retrace the steps of the long-perished First Legion and discover the dark secrets of the Black Moon.
I'm just glad it's over. Such a solid series initially, but abruptly turned overzealous? The sci-fi /fantasy elements were needlessly complex and structured so as to make Deus ex machinae probable.
I received a review copy of this book. Ok, well, now we see how the series ends. Can't say I saw this coming based on the first book of the series, but it turned out well, so no complaints there. Starblood is the series that follows this one, and you'll want to finish this series before starting that one, I have already read a few books in the starblood series, but they would have made way more sense had I finished project stellar first. In any case, a series finish that was well done, so if you liked it, dig into the next one, and enjoy that one too.
I am obliged to say this was a satisfying story overall. Still, there were issues with the verbosity and pacing of the entire series. It's the author's style, so I can't be too harsh on it since I did finish the series. Glad I read it, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it if you have issues with repeated phrases and details that drag on.
