A successful lawyer and loving mother, Nina Bloom would do anything to protect the life she's built in New York - including lying to everyone, even her daughter, about her past. But when an innocent man is framed for murder, she knows that she can't let him pay for the real killer's crimes.
Nina's secret life began nineteen years ago. She had looks to die for, a handsome police-officer husband, and a carefree life in Key West. When she learned she was pregnant with their first child, her happiness was almost overwhelming. But Nina's world is shattered when she unearths a terrible secret that causes her to run for her life and change her identity.
Now, years later, Nina risks everything she's earned to return to Florida and confront the murderous evil she fled. In a story of wrenching suspense, James Patterson gives us his most head-spinning, action-filled story yet - a Hitchcockian blend of unquenchable drama and pleasure.

Patterson has told the story of his own life in the #1 bestselling autobiography James Patterson by James Patterson. He is the recipient of an Edgar Award, ten Emmy Awards, the Literarian Award from the National Book Foundation, and the National Humanities Medal.
I enjoyed the book, however am only rating it 3 stars because it was just too unrealistic. A suspenseful tale about an orphan turned runaway bride turned successful Manhattan attorney who lives in constant fear of her past. It all catches up to her when she’s handed an innocence project case and is forced to confront her demons.
If you like a book with a little bit of crime in it then I would recommend reading "Now you See Her" by James Patterson. Now you see her is about a girl who is on spring break with a group of friends, but catches her boyfriend with her best friend. Jeanine (main character) Drives away in the boyfriends car, but gets in trouble on the way. Jeanine ends up marrying the guy that saved her life. Jeanine (years later)has found out some news that changes her mind about her husband.
I have read a lot of James Pattersons books but as my favourite thriller writer this book in particular is my favourite. It's a boom that will literally keep you wondering what on earth is going on. Full of twists, shocks and a great story line I was hooked. It's not filled with American jargon which I find often the case with American thrillers so it makes for easy reading.
As usual, one cannot read only a portion of one of Patterson's novels and not read the entire book. Great novel keeping you reading and on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book.
