Warner Bros. and Chronicle Books proudly present Draw the Looney Tunes . For years, this was the textbook used by in-house artists to learn the ropes at Warner Bros. This exclusive edition brings the book to the general public for the very first time. But in no way have we stripped it down. We're not kwazy. We've left all the bells and whistles in vellum overlays, landscape four-color foldouts, vintage cartoons, step-by-step instruction, and how-to textquite the package! With good humor and wise counsel the artists reveal their secrets of success and outline everything necessary to master the basic principles. It's written for every level of expertise, so budding cartoonists and those well into their craft will learn how to bring characters to life, train the eye to really "see," create rhythm and movement, show perspective, and perfect the finer points of drawing Bugs himself. Chockful of all this and more, Draw the Looney Tunes is a veritable open vault of information and inspiration from those in the knowand th-th-th-th-that's a lot, folks!
I legitimately love this book. Not just because I love the looney tunes either. Because this is fantastic for showing tips and tricks on how to draw in the style of the looney tunes. For both characters and environments.
I’ve kept this book beside every desk I’ve ever worked at, and it’s actually really helped in small situations over the years. Especially when doing contracts and tests for WB a few years back.
If you’re an animator, or artist of any sort, this book should be required reading. If you’re just a looney tunes fanatic, it’s still worth having.
This book is fabulouso! I ordered it as a fluke, but it ended up being the best art book I've read. It doesn't showyou what lines to use to draw the characters of the Looney Tunes. Rather, it shows you how to draw the Life of a character, be it a Looney Tune or one of your own creation. Its a by far great book for artists of all trades, not just animators.
Really interesting and beautiful book that is less about how to draw looney tunes than how to draw cartoon characters in general covering stuff like constructing lines of action, how to get the characters to act, how to avoid static poses and the like. There are then very detailed instructions on how to draw bugs bunny.
