Alex Reynolds and his lover Peter Livesay discover that a mysterious cult has killed friends of theirs over their friends' accidental possession of a stolen religious artifact. Now, Alex, Peter, and Alex's mother have inherited their friends' annoying dog Muffin as well as the unwanted and deadly attention of the killers.
This is the third novel in the Alex Reynolds series. In this one we find Alex, Peter and Jeanne mixed up with fanatic religious zealots, chasing a purple diamond and inheriting a dog. This is not brain surgery and it doesn't pretend to be. It's a fun romp. It's more a trio than a duo this time. We have a little more Peter and less Jeanne. Alex is still his naive self and it's okay. It was something fun to read while I'm nursing a cold.
This was highly entertaining. It is part of a series, but I seem to be reading it out of order. Oops!
This involved a missing diamond that these baddies were willing to kill for to get back. Well...I figured out where it was located 100 pages before our 'hero.'
