My Pink is Overflowing
And yes, that means turned on!
Himari is a waitress who has horrible luck with guys. She is unlucky in love, and always seems to be the "back up" girl. Her weakness is men in white dress shirts. This weakness leads to "overflowing pink" as it is referenced to. More commonly in anime and manga, this leads to bloody noses, and clearly being turned on.
Because of her bad luck, she vows to only date inexperienced guys, so that she isn't tossed aside again.
Her manager at work, Mikazuki runs into her outside of a love hotel, after Himari runs away from a guy at a mixer with friends.
That is where our adventure begins.
Art style:
The art style in My Pink is Overflowing is beautiful! I find it easy to get into the story, and all of the character designs are lovely. There were definitely some stand out panels not just for beauty, but perfectly timed comedy as well. I'm a fan!
There was a lot of attention to details, like adding a panel of Himari doing a face mask before the mixer made this story even more believeable.
Characters:
Himari's pervy nature with a white dress shirt may come across as a little much to some people, but for me, it was mostly sweet with a touch of pervy, which is so on brand for me.
Mikazuki is a shy guy for sure, and I am really excited to learn more about him. There is enough mystery with him that I now want to know EVERYTHING!

Lately I’ve been reading more josei, which is the grown up version of shoujo romances. And, to be honest, I think I got myself into a new fav genre.
My Pink is Overflowing is basically the story of a 26 y/o waitress who’s bad at relationships with guys. Thus, she decides that from now on, she’ll only date virgins, and maybe that way she can find her soul mate. Anyhow, she ends up dating her boss, with the promise that if he falls in love with her, he will give her his virginity.
Now, I know this might sound a bit weird but I promise you it isn’t like that. Truth be told, there are some cliché scenes that we’ve all seen but I’m not mad about it at all. The MC made me laugh a lot because she’s a bit of an ecchi young woman and her boss is really sweet to her –the complete opposite of what she daydreams, lol.
The art style is basically like any shoujo out there but like I said before, this is for a mature audience since it has some smutty scenes too. I think this story is the kind of manga you read when you want something light-hearted and funny –so it was perfect for me.
I’ll be happy to continue with the series~.

Disappointing. The chapters and writing read like steps in a visual novel game, and it’s just not engaging. It’s basically “When will they have sex??”, and I need more depth from even smutty reads.

Haha, I wasn't sure because of the title, but I am happy I got this one during the Kodansha big promo for first volumes. And I wonder how long these two can stop at kissing and just a bit of holding/hugging/touching, because seriously the chemistry between them is off the charts. OK, I am still not entirely sold on the guy because of how he acts, but I hope that he gets a bit warmer/kinder. I love how this girl just instantly flushes when she gets too much love, haha, girl you gotta get used to it. The premise is cute, again, I wonder if they will make that promise.
I did feel for the girl though, she is just trying to find love and all she gets is dicks who have kids, wives, girlfriends...

Un buen josei.
Cansada de que no la tomen en serio, la protagonista decide salir con hombres sin experiencia y eso la lleva a su jefe, dueño de una cafetería.
Aunque la dinámica de esta historia podría derivarse a "bueno, ¿y cuándo se van a acostar estos dos?", la autora le da peso a la cuestión de "hay que enamorarnos primero" y eso trae a la pareja de situacion en situación para estrechar su vínculo.
Sí tiene sus momentos donde todo pudo pasar a más, pero ambos se sienten inexpertos en el asunto y como parte de la construcción de "ah, es la primera vez que siento esta calidez y shalalá".

TW: cheating
Himari Niiyama has one thing on her mind, she wants to be loved. In the past, she always has been compared to other girls and has never been the number one for a guy which ultimately lead to multiple heartbreaks. With a new plan in mind, she decides that she will try to find someone with no romantic experience or as she says, a virgin man.
So, I know it’s a josei and that therefore, it’s aimed towards an older audience, so I was expecting some sexy scenes. But I didn’t find anything sexy, just really stupid. . It’s clear to say that I didn’t like the plot which I found stupid.
I didn’t like the characters either, Himari is stupid too, she daydreams about erotic things all day long, even when her boyfriend/boss is sick, she only thinks about having sex with him. I couldn’t believe in their relationship, I know it’s only the first volume but still, there was no connection whatsoever between the two.
I don’t think I will continue on with the series.

I thought this was going to be a high school romance, but in a way, I am glad that it isn't. This discusses a woman who wants to become number one in a relationship (which is something that I am on board with) but at first, the leading lady seems to have a type that she likes people who only wear a white dress shirt and they are nice to her but she changes over time and the leading guy also has a lot more development over time also. This also has a pretty good slowburn pace for me as far as the relationship and love scenes without feeling like there isn't any context or reason why these scenes are happening(which those are still valid but the lack of it made this story better). Overall though, I really enjoyed this story and I am really curious to see how this manga series turns out. 4 out of 5 stars

This is interesting. I like it.
A little bit of drama, a little confusion, a little deception, and a LOT of naughty daydreaming! Himari is my kinda gal. Cute, kind of plain, quiet, and a total freak in the boudoir! Ahem, so uh, yeah, Boss agrees to date her, and he's never had a girlfriend! Really?!?! He's quite handsome. Hmm. Anyhow, this poor girl has had one jerk after another lead her on and use her. Now she's got Boss. He seems like a decent guy. He's definitely falling for Himari. I seriously thought he was gonna deck Yuki in front of the cafe. That guy is a total jerk. I suspect we haven't seen the last of him. So, off to a good start, if Himari can just stop with all the lewd fantasies!

Our female lead has had a bad streak in her love life (guys cheating with her, etc) and now she decides that she only wants to date virgins.
Just so happens... Our male lead, who is her manager at work, is a virgin and they coincidentally bump into each other at the right place and right time.
I love the cliches we've had so far: birthday celebration, one of them falling sick, etc.
But what I love the most is the ecchi thoughts by FL; it is amusing because once she snaps out of her daydream, our ML doesn't behave that way at all.
I need to find more josei mangas to read. Do let me know if you have any suggestions! My top suggestion right now would be Ase to Sekken (Sweat & Soap).

This is the best manga with little elements of love,desire and hope as Himari begins to fall for her manager she ,in fact, adores him!and wants to be in a relationship with him but he has the compound belief that there shouldn’t be any relationship of the goal of it isn’t marriage as they go to a love hotel (not for the actual purpose) they find out that they are actually interested in one another and so on and forth we prepare of what is to come 😂💖💞

And you know what? It’s hilarious and sweet, much like a rom com as a manga.

Three stars is probably a bit generous for this. The characters are pretty blah and the MC isn’t terribly likeable. Practically nothing happens in this volume. Eh I’ve read worse, but don’t think it’s worth continuing.

She’s an idiot who manages to find major assholes to date. Artwork is cute, but I don’t like the characters, and didn’t feel they acted realistically. She smacks of desperation and gullibility, and the manager is a stereotypical cold guy.

I like how the heroine in this story is very comfortable with sex and she is the chaser in the romance, unlike most shoujo heroines.
The art is nice. Simple but cute story about work romance in a cafe. Looking forward to read the rest of the series.
