Mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle

Rate this book
Why do aircraft and ships seem to 'disappear' in the Bermuda Triangle? Since the time of Christopher Columbus there have been reports of strange sightings and vessels lost while traveling through the 'Devil's Triangle.' Are the legends make-believe, or is there something sinister waiting in the waters of the Bermuda Triangle?

My 5-year-old son checked this one out from our local bookmobile. He loves anything to do with ships, planes or pirates--this had all three! It had lots of good information, some interesting speculation about the possible explanations of the disappearances, and it was written on a level that he could understand and enjoy. We read the whole thing in one sitting!

My son and I read three books about the Bermuda Triangle. This one offered a couple of possible explanations that the other two did not suggest. (Methane gas bubbles from fissures in the ocean floor, and water spouts)

This book is level N for guided reading. I liked it because the explanations were good for kids on why the Bermuda Triangle got its name.
