DNF’d at 45%
This book made me so mad. The only reason I didn’t DNF the first (although the thought was constantly crossing my mind) was because I was waiting on more books to come in. I’m convinced everyone giving this series 4+ stars has been compensated.
Every time I read Elodie referring to her heart as her “broken organ”, I wanted to scream. This was about every other paragraph at least. I also couldn’t get over the fact that her character acted so immature and had the emotional intelligence of an 8 year old at best.

A major thing that pushed me to finally DNF was when Elodie acted like a petulant child when Rune does not sleep with her, probably out of the absolute terror that he feels thinking about how Violet would most likely torture and or kill him, also the fact that she’s bonded to Arulius and he already has threatened his life because of this arrangement. Not like Rune had any choice in it and if he did I’m sure he would not agree to it. Her constant mood swings had my head spinning.

Also, I have a mouth of a sailor and I don’t mind profanity in my books at all, but when every 3rd word is f*ck or a**hole it becomes extremely tiring and cringey.
I know this is a harsh review but like I said these books are written terribly, the writing is clunky at best. The potential was definitely there. The story could have been written sooo much better than it was, it just needs a lot of finesse to make it actually flow. 2 stars is being generous 😭

WHO ENDS A BOOK LIKE THAT?! Torture! This is literally torture 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
My jaw is on the floor, the explicitives I've been screaming have not ceased, my heart is in shambles AND HOPE IS NOT REAL!
It tore us down then made us hope and everything was great and we were hoping and loving and then BAM! AGAIN! WE fell for it again! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me! Whyyyyyy?? I was thrilled to be an ARC reader for this one. It was one of my most anticipated reads this year, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! ⭐️4.5⭐️
I didn’t connect with Elodie very much in the first book, but that all changed here. She really came to life for me in this one. Maybe that was due to Rune (more on him in a moment), I’m not sure. But I felt like she really found her voice in this book.
The story basically picks up where it left off and we get right in to the thick of it. I loved not having to wait and wonder where everyone was and what everyone was doing. It was an instant attention grabber. But what really got me, which I’m sure will get most of you, was Rune. He was totally unexpected, and my god, he didn’t disappoint. Just you wait. 🔥🥵
Overall, it was just the continuation I was hoping for! It had all the action, all the intrigue, and all the spice!!!
*I knocked off half a star because Arulius is just 🙄 and no matter what he does, I just can’t like him. I internally cringe and feel stabby anytime he calls Elodie “love,” which is anytime he opens his mouth.

I just really am not the biggest fan of Elodie and I think it’s kind of zapping my ability to enjoy this series. I find her overall really immature and kind of annoying. Rune though…🤭🥲🫠

Yea I’m going to stop here. Now don’t get me wrong I absolutely loveee Rune! But I feel like Elodie and her relationship with all four guys is built on “love,” lust, and lies. She can’t trust any of them which I don’t blame her. She was raised a human only to find out she’s actually the goddess of life and dawn. Violet has been using the blood of each god to find her lost love. And that endingggg… ugh I want to continue this series but I don’t think that I can :(

We got to see so much more in depth of the characters personalities. And our new MMC. Perfection. I can’t say more without spoiling anything. But the happiness this book did have really touched my heart.

Oh MAN this did not disappoint !!!! This world is so fun and unlike anything ive ever read. Every character has a unique personality and relationship with Elodie which makes for the best reading experience and everything you want in a why choose. It’s not always glamorous and rainbows and sunshine and this has me HOOKED

I have issues with some of the writing, yes. HOWEVER, the story is very good. I stayed engaged. Rune and I fighting currently, don't come for me. I'm very much enjoying my experience with this trilogy and am excited to start the next and last one tomorrow.

I went into this book with REALLY high expectations because A God Of Wrath And Lies was one of my favorite books last year. If you talked to me about books at all then you know I always brought it up. But that’s not what we’re here for…
We’re here for A God Of Death And Rest and I literally just finished it and don’t even know how to feel. I loved the introduction of more gods and the way the story developed and everything became more intertwined and complex. I love Rune and Naminé and their character development together with Elodie. I love the world building and how descriptive and immersive it is. There is just so much to love about this book!
“I wish I could hear your stories,”
“Maybe one day you’ll tell me.”
“One day… maybe when I’m listening in the way you need me to.”
🥹 Elodie has such a pure heart and even though she has been betrayed and feels broken, she still has the ability to try to see the good and love and be the most beautiful being. She deserves to be happy above all else. Everybody does (except Violet - I still stick by my God Of Wrath And Lies review… I hate her. Sorry not sorry)
The ending though……. A cliffhanger that did my heart dirty! The build up to it and my eyes watering, and then when my brain realized what as actually happening all I could think was “no no no no no” 😭 I’m not sure how I’m going to be able to move on without knowing what’s happening next…. I’ll just be over here sad and wishing for some happiness after the glorious happy moments there were in this book. But I know that “nothing lasts forever. Nothing—even in a world where eternity is possible.”.
Next book please 🫶🏻 I’m ready for some more healing and pain 😅

The whole time I read this, I was frustrated.
This reads like bad fan fiction and I don’t understand why because the first book was REALLY good.
I DNFed this at 50%. Let me tell you why.
As far as I am concerned, repetitive language is THE cardinal sin. There is just no excuse to repeat the same phrase over and over, especially 10+ times. It was all “my damaged organ, my damaged organ, my damaged organ” and the spice was “his d*ck, his d*ck, his d*ck.” And “screaming meemies” ??????
I also noted that the author pulled the line “alright then, keep your secrets” straight from Lord of the Rings but wanted to give the benefit of the doubt until I read the line “they’re in the business of misery.” That was my final straw.
I’m just so frustrated with the writing. I’m sure the plot itself was interesting and I was kind of curious to see where the plot with Auralius and the blood bond would have gone, but I can’t justify another book and a half of this writing to find out.

Sobbing. I read the last part with tears falling down my face. I have fallen for this story so hard, not only the characters but the entire world that it has been set in. Elodie is probably one of the most relatable MCs I have ever read, she says what every other MC I have read says quietly.
And Rune. Oh my god, Rune. Tragic and heartbreaking doesn't even begin to cover it. He is my to favorite leading man.
I need more of this story, I was so so lucky to be able to read this early as a part of the ARC team and I couldn't be more thankful. My soul is already dying for book 3.

K.M. Moronova just broke my reader's heart.. That ending got me so bad, I gasped and screamed so loud almost resulting in throwing my Kindle away.
I can’t stress enough about how much I need the next book. AGODAR was amazing and so much better than its prequel. The plot is unique and keeps me wanting more and more.The author got me in a choke hold and I just NEED more. It was a rollercoaster ride I loved being part of and I’d recommend The Pine Hollow series to anyone looking for an emotional and romantic reverse harem fantasy.
And when I thought I liked all the characters in A god of wrath and lies, the author introduces us to Rune. And wooow.. Aurulius his reasoning. She wrote the Morally gray character at its best. I think Aurulius and Rune are my favorites of all the male characters in Elodie’s life.
Thank you so much for this amazing sequel and I’m anxiously waiting for the sequel. The author deserves all the stars and praise she gets.

The continuation of Elodie's journey is nothing short of beautiful. Some authors choose to make their characters' one or the other, hero or villain, but this author goes a step further. There is no true villain, there is no true evil, there is only unrest.
I started this book wanting answers for Arulius' actions. I refused to believe that it was pure betrayal and I was correct. But what I did not expect was to care about Violet's story. There is something to be said about an author that can make you care for a character that has tortured, utterly reviled Elodie, and has completely burned realms for the one they love. And let's not talk about how easy it was to fall in love with a wordless Rune who can only talk *in* Elodie. Book two is another piece of the glorious puzzle of Tomorrow and I am in love!

I don’t have a lot of words for this series.. besides it’s absolutely captivating. The world building alone has me all over the place, but then you add in characters that make you feel all the emotions under the sun. Gobsmacked.
Sweet sweet Elodie.. her happy ever after is coming. I just don’t know when. I need it! She deserves nothing more. She is strong and so full of light, even with everything that has happened to her.
These mennnn. Oh Rune. Kastian. Arulius. Beautiful souls. Each so different, yet their love for Elodie is consuming.
I might have been a little mad at one of them, but I’ve forgiven them. Still some groveling due!!

I received an ARC. The story keeps getting better! It's so unique and it sucks you in. If you're on the fence about reading this one, climb on over and dive in! You won't regret it. Kianna did a fantastic job with this one....but I do have a bone to pick with her....(spoilers to come)

Got this book as an ARC for my honest review and here it is.
Holy gods. We pick up a week after they took Elodie and Arulius completely backstabbed her (still bitter about that). Then it hops to 6 months later. And the torture that Elodie has been through is insane, just for her blood.
There’s now a new dude added into the mix. Rune. He doesn’t talk except when they are together and as one and seems just as broken as Elodie. The way he gives her a tattoo with his blood so they are always bonded to continue to speak through to her 💋💋 chefs kiss. He is so swoon worthy, he gave his heart full and deep and there was no question the love he had for her!
Arulius still being the same ass but even more now, touch her and died. Ummm excuse me, you gave up that right when you betrayed her the way you did! The way he betrayed her again! And how she willingly did something for herself even through it broke her heart. I was screaming go girl!!! He didn’t deserve you and the love you have when you have 3 beautiful gods already showing their love for you in the best ways!
The last few chapters OMG!!!! There was so much going on in a good way! Love, hate, tears and the ending, I didn’t want it to end and I swear to the gods there better be another book where they get their HEA, ALL of them, even the awful violet.

Some small complaints
-Her calling her heart, her organ. Like I get it but can we just say heart consistently throughout instead of going back and forth
-I wish there was more about wren and Kastian in the beginning and not half way through. I understand wanting to know what’s going on with Elodie but it would be nice to know what’s going on with with them too.

This series is quickly becoming one of my favourites. I am absolutely in love with this story line, and so intrigued with where it's all going. In AGOD&R we meet Rune, and he is easily one of my fave characters. I love the strong, broody, silent type who is so over the top protective and posessive. Just what the doctor ordered. This book absolutely took me THROUGH IT! What a freaking rollercoaster ride! My GODDDD I was screaming, throwing my book, crying (sobbing), laughing, sweating, blushing. All. The. Feels. AND THAT ENDING!? My god girl. What a ride. As much as some of this was very painful to read, I enjoyed every second of it because I love to torture myself :)

The first book had a meh connection between all the characters, which now that I’ve read this second book makes sense— it was obviously just a plot primer.
This second book in the series did a much better job of putting feeling into the relationships. Or maybe it’s just because the addition of Rune as a connection for Elodie was my favorite?
Anyway, if Goodreads had half stars it’d be 3.5. Good enough to finish, but I’ve read better.

okej så, nu fattar jag vad som händer, jag hänger med i svängarna va. det var inte great men betydligt bättre än första. jag hade ju helt missat att det var en reverse harem, så jokes on me där! So many conflicting emotions, especially around Arulius......but my boy Rune is 👌🏻🔥🥵🌶️, so too are Kastian and Wren 💕.....Elodie has suffered so much, but is still a badass 👑
