Preparing for the beach involves not only a swimsuit, but sunscreen, a tank top, flip-flops, and more. The day ends with a refreshing snow cone and a little one dozing in the car during the trip home.

This is one, in a series of boardbooks, that celebrate the seasons. It teaches a toddler the basics of preparing to go for a swim. The essentials he needs to take along for his summer adventure are: a swimsuit, a tank top, of course some sunscreen, a towel to dry off with, and some flip-flops to make footprints down the sandy beach, just to name a few. After a day of swimming activities: drying off lounging on his towel, playing in the sand and cooling-off with an icy snow cone he is ready to head home. Sleep overtakes him. Exhausted from his beach adventure he snores away buckled into the backseat with a very contented smile on his face.

The illustrations are vibrant, simple, and modern with one word of text per page. Simply put... they are perfect for toddlers as is the book in it's entirety. I highly recommend this book and the series.
