October 2018... I have some very diligent GR buddies updating of the status of Primrose and another "new release" from the author. Keep reading the comments if you're remotely interested... :P Last I heard, release date for Primrose is now December 14th, 2018 with pre-orders going up on December 7th. LOL
---- April 2018... don't think I'll be checking on this one anymore. 8yrs. waiting for one book is quite enough. So if any of you have the news that it's gotten published (I literally mean if it's up on the retailers for purchase - not just a date cause those mean nothing), then do leave a reply here. Though I don't think I'll be holding my breath on that regard. LOL
---- Dear Ms. Valdez, please finish Primrose and get me out of this misery instead of shooting promises after promises of a non-existent release date. I want Primrose, dammmit! It's January 2016, and we, your avid fans, are still counting!!! -_- ---
Updated news, January 2017... A BIG FAT NOTHING! :D
--- Updated news, February 2016... "Dearest Readers, I had expected to have a release date for you by now. Alas, I do not....."
Getting a little repetitive don't you think Ms. Valdez? *eyeroll* --- Updated news, October 2015... announcement coming in January. I'm scared even to imagine when that might be:
"...While I do not yet have a release date, I will be posting a release announcement in January."
*blank stare*
--- September 2015: It seems Ms. Valdez's website is down and there are wild speculations about her state of being (blame amazon's forum). I don't want to witness another case like Charlotte Featherstone. I don't blame anyone but life takes precedence always. I was heartbroken nonetheless.
March 2014: "I recently removed a character and many words from the book." which means re-writing? Great! :-<
PS: this is my rant of pure frustration. Ms. Valdez is one of my most fav erotica authors. But if it's offending anyone, I'd request them to move on to the next review!!
No sign of the blasted thing. Also, does the hero of this match the previous two down South?

You forgot to add 'abduction by outer space aliens' in your long list of 'reasons' excusing Lisa Valdez for not finishing an HR quartet of books 9 long years after kick off (I was in the first flush of youth then). I don't think you'll find many who think it is 'catty' to raise questions when a writer in this genre finds it difficult to produce more than 2 books in a decade. Marcel Proust you ain't, luv.
It is not 'cattiness', it is that when it comes to Ms Valdez' understanding of deadlines and commitment to her readers the jokes write themselves. She has a website where she could have informed her readership about having to suspend writing activities for personal reasons, and we would have wished her well, a swift resolution to everything and left her alone. But this has not happened. What we get instead, in dribs and drabs, is random deadlines pulled out of a hat. Meanwhile, the writer found the time to pen a novella (the ontotheology of kerching!).
There're writers who've taken time off because of health problems (Robin Schone, Linda Howard -who's come back with a collaborator in tow), of a tragic family loss (Sharon Sala), or because they are taking a vacation in the clink (Megan McKinney). There are others who have stopped writing in this genre or have given up all together. Lisa Valdez does not fall in any of these categories. It is more than obvious to me that she's a shrewd and dedicated promoter of her scant output. She keeps her readership intrigued (we are still talking, aren't we, about her 'forthcoming' book, one way or another), while she does not deliver the goods, nor does she feel compelled to do so. She does not even take the trouble to update her website regularly. She remembers her readers only when she has something to sell. Still, all we do is make fun of her attitude rather than altogether turn our backs on her. Jokes, snarks, criticisms, aired frustrations, all these seem to work in her favour, and pump volume into the carefully manufactured air of mystique surrounding 'Primrose' . I think, Ms Valdez should pay her marketing consultant, or whoever advises her on this strategy, a big fat bonus. On that note, I'd strongly advise that you obtain said person's details for future reference, rather than waste time turning against the all too hooked readership.

As a reader i can understand the frustration of having to wait for "the next" book in a series. I can also understand that most readers wait maybe a year for the next book, and that waiting 2,3,4, or 5 years is excessive. However, for those of you that are making "catty" remarks about how long this author is taking to write her book to share with us I would like to give you something to think about... 1. What if Ms. Valdez has had a major family emergency that kept her from writing? 2. What if she had a tragic death in her family? 3. What if she was pregnant and was having complications. 4. What if she's married and her and her husband were going through hard times? 5. What if she has a child who was diagnosed with something and she's been living at a hospital with him or her? 6. What if her mother or father has been terribly ill? I could keep going but I hope you get my meaning. Are "we" readers so selfish that we think not getting our story when WE want it that it is O.K. To "talk trash" about an author who has a life and probably a family too because we don't get the book in a timely fashion? If you're pissed then don't buy it. But before you bitch about something that you don't have all the facts, think! No, I don't know Ms. Valdez and yes I've been waiting too, but like I've always told my kids... You do NOT know what's going on in her life to slow things up so until you do quit bitching!
February 2025: If she is alive and did this cruel thing to us, I'm sure she will be haunted by us in the after life 😂 November, 2013 edit: Author says she STILL working on the book.
Edit: Release date expecting in 2013 fall. We waiting this book for two year. Now we must wait a year too.
"Expert is superb but I'm dying from curiosity :/ " That fact doesn't change a bit.
I finished the second book Patience a month ago and am already super anxious to read the next one. Some people have been waiting over 5 years for this book... I can't even imagine.

UPDATE: I have now waited 4 years for this to release.
mini rant begins I am a huge fan of Mrs. Valdez's books but she is consistent with this whole "not wanting to keep her fans informed about what is going on with the books" thing. In my opinion, if you are 1) Not ready to release for whatever reason, then tell us 2) Missed your publication deadline, then tell us or 3) Having trouble getting the story together, THEN TELL US. I appreciate it all the more when authors touch base with their fans regularly because even if they are behind in releasing the book at least we're not all blowing in the wind wondering if the book will ever be released. In her last update on her website, which by the way was literally a year ago, she said that she would have a release date for us soon...that was A YEAR AGO. Unfortunately when I tried to contact her about Primrose a notification came up and said that the email address was too full to recieve anymore emails. So here we are waiting for info on a book that I honestly feel like will never be published. mini rant ends
Have waited for years for this book Primrose, the only answers to why it was never written are: author passed away, wrote these under a pseudonym, or quit writing due to an issue with editor/publisher or some contract. This compelling author also could have been a man who may be very popular in another genre, and feared something! However, Passion and Patience are too well written to be a first or second book, the characters fairly well developed! I believe somewhere out there some know the secrets to the real Lisa Valdez; for me the author has now become more interesting than any book; Valdez is the mystery and I’d like it solved!
8 years since book #2 and still no news about book #3. This has to be an all-time record in Romanceland ! At this pace, I'll be grey and old by the time book #4 of the Quarter is released.
I kinda hope Lisa Valdez is still alive and well though, what with her not giving any sign of life since February 2016.
Maybe I'm asking for too much but I do hope this gets published this year (2014) and not 2015 as someone else predicted by observing her previous release dates.
Okay, I understand the frustration with the release date being pushed back, but I didn't even realize this was going to happen, like a real thing! I thought it was just gone and author was MIA, whatever, but if she's updating then it's a real possibility. YAY! Passion was good but Patience blew my freaking mind.
I was lucky enough to win a partial of Prims book from Lisa Valdez. Unless things take a turn for the worst I expect to be adding an additional star. I love Prim she seems to be as naughty and wild as Passion.
PLEASE NOTE: this is only a 1-star-review because the book is NOT OUT yet and I've lost hope. Should this book ever be released, I'll of course change my rating accordingly.
So this is the book that will never come. 😅I quite enjoyed the first two books of this series, even though I usually read Romance and not outright Erotica. But they were well written for such steamy content with interesting characters and some promising storylines. I had high hopes for the third book Primrose, but alas... Since by now 11 years (!) passed since the second book I can only conclude that Lisa Valdez stopped writing for good. I guess it happens, some writers don't feel like it anymore, some writers might get preoccupied with other things in their lives, some writers might succumb to terminal writer's block. It's tragic, but what can you do. Too bad that it happened before Primrose was out, I think I'd have enjoyed it.
I had expected to have a release date for you by now. Alas, I do not.
As I've been getting my writing legs back, I've been finding that there were several things I needed to fix, things that have taken some time. Anyway, I'm picking up speed and I look forward to having news for you soon.
I hope you will check back next month, when I will post another update.
Okay, excerpt, WTF? Having sex with random strangers you find naked is never a good idea. You'd think that as a vicar's daughter, Primrose would be aware of this, but apparently not.
Not sure why I keep checking this to see if there is any news? Don't think I even want to read it anymore as I can't really remember the others as it was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long ago. Must just give it up!! :o)
Estamos desesperadas y aun no hay fecha; que lenta agonia estamos sufriendo las que ya tuvimos el provilegio de leer las 2 primeras partes, esperemos que pronto tengamos ya una fecha de piblicasion para Primrose.
Miss Valdez it's February 2016 and no release date yet. This isn't fair. With all the anticipation, I fear it'll be very anti climactic. We deserve better than more than 5 years wait and empty promises
