There are experiences we have as humans that echo inside us, ricocheting off of one ache or another, and it leaves us empty and wanting. Grief, heartbreak, a goodbye, a sudden loss, an absence you have to get used to--they're the things that happen to us. And we so often sit with those aches in solitude, waiting for the pain to be gone or for the strength of them to wane just a little. But in this book, I'm embracing the aches and recognizing that they are the experiences of someone who is living, of someone who is human.
