2 Useless-Stars! ★★
I didn’t really learn anything new. I reread things I’ve heard before and took some activity quizzes, like the ones in the back of an issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine. And there are a lot of useless quizzes!
Everything in this book kept repeating itself... more about seeing if I was stressed or not (which I am. I don’t need a quiz to tell me that. Who would pick up a book about dealing with stress that aren’t stressed⁉️) and not really about coping or handling my stress.
Lol, funny thing is, READING THIS BOOK STRESSED ME OUT. Jesus, I’m a wreck. (Shaking my head at myself)
The main ‘cure’ the book kept preaching was ‘don’t give it importance’. But if it were that easy, I would have been stress free from the beginning. I’m stressed because it’s important.
One somewhat helpful tip was, to look for triggers before the panic attack. Look out for clenching hands, twitches, elevated heart rates...etc. and try to prevent it from escalating.
But it did irritate how often certain phrases such as, “making a mountain out of a molehill” were repeated. 7 times! Holy F#%K‼️ and that was just that phrase.
I got to 50% and I can’t say I know how, because I think I got stupider reading this book, before I had to slam it shut and throw it out the window! (Figuratively speaking) I really don’t see how finishing this book is going to help me. Already the few farts of information I’ve read, is basic common sense that everyone knows... or knows but don’t voice. Shame...
