Angels in Exile

Fallen River

Rate this book
When Sarah James wakes up at the dark end of a back alley on Christmas Eve, she wants nothing more than to leave behind the memory of the monster who attacked and nearly killed her. Five months later, however, that same monster shows up on her doorstep with an apology and explanation that threatens to shatter everything she believes.

After being unceremoniously kicked out of Heaven for leading a botched rebellion, the only thing a war-weary fallen angel wants is a chance at redemption. He just doesn't expect that chance to come in the form of a headstrong, whip-smart human...atheist. Preparing his fiery new charge for a life of demon slaying while keeping the wolves from her door won't be easy, but the real test comes when the battle's through. Will he play by the rules and return to the fold? Or risk everything to stay with the woman who has become his home?

1 Star.

Very slow going and got bored about half way through. Just not enough to keep me engaged. It could be this reader.

Read, if it sounds like it appeals, but don't blame me if you don't finish either!

Happy Reading ... maybe?

Couldn't put it down

My typical read is YA novels despite having teens of my own. I liked reading a book for once that didn't have all the friends/high-school/immaturity.

originally interested in bk 2, kinda wish I started there. An interesting take on angels & demons & I like the way the author writes but...I wish there was more action. There is a bit of internalizing/soul searching (whitch I don't mind) just felt unbalanced w/o more action. I liked the characters & Sarah's emotions/reactions were believable. It's nice to see a lead female adult acting as one & not a twitty adolescent. Tentatively looking forward to the sequel.

It took me a few chapters to get into the story, but once there I read it straight through in one day, couldn't put it down. I liked that I was not able to predict what would happen at the end of the story; but I was very satisfied with the ending. The ending set the stage for a sequel which I look forward to reading.

I little confusing in the beginning but once you get going you can't stop. I want to read the next one. I have to know what is around the bend. I also like the whole no crazy cliff hanger ending. You wrap it up enough to have me wanting more but not going totally crazy.

I loved this book, it was interesting and grasped my attention from the first paragraph. I read it non-stop from start to finish on my mother's Nook. I can't wait to read the next one
