Beautiful book with helpful information about the history and main “attractions” in the parks. Now that it’s over 10 years old, the particular travel details are no longer accurate (prices, reservation info, etc.)
U.S. National Parks West by Insight Guides (APA Publications 2005) (917.3). This is a beautiful guide to the national parks in the far west. The accompanying photography is breathtaking and makes me want to pull out my tent. I'm from Tennessee, though, so I'll have to enjoy much of this vicariously. My rating: 7/10, finished 2/18/16.
