Before The Matrix Trilogy, True Blood, Twilight, Daybreakers, Morrigan's Cross, and Blade there was only Stargazer -- the fountainhead of so many modern vampire and science fiction epics. Originally published as The Queen of Darkness (Warner Books), the classic saga has been rebooted, revamped and rewritten in its second edition to further take its place among the greatest vampire tales ever written. Five hundred years ago the Stargazers, led by their immortal MoonQueen, sparked global nuclear war, blotted out the sun, conquered the world, and rewrote history. Now humans are cattle whose blood feeds the master race, the glorious rulers of high-tech cities. And no one calls Stargazers by their true name. Vampires. Yet some impulse is stirring in the slave farms, an echo of a forgotten pride. Byron, a rebellious young Stargazer, is assigned to investigate the 'Warm One's--in other words, destroy any threat. But when a beautiful human shaman shows him unbelievable truths about his past, his origin, and his destiny, a vampire will discover that his immortal enemy is his living Goddess, The MoonQueen. "Conner creates an inexplicably touching hero both as man and monster." Publishers Weekly "For me, there are only two classic vampire Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire…now comes Conner’s Stargazer which deserves so much of our attention for all the differences it brings into the genre." Science Fiction Chronicle "Classic vampire mythology redefined in the most exciting and original way. Science fiction at its finest!" Samuel Benavides, award-winning writer & director of Mansfield Path and Phantom Senses

This book puts the movie Daybreakers to shame. If you would like to know what really would happen if vampires ruled the world, you need to read Staregazer.
Stargazer is set in the future, after nuclear fallout brought on by vampires, to destroy a killer virus transmitted by human blood. I’ve never been one for science fiction, but I couldn’t put it down. This is what you have been looking for vampire fans. It’s time for a change, something new, and refreshing…and you can find it in this book.
It’s written from a vampire, Byron, POV as he assigned to single out the cause of human uprising against the vampire kind. He ends up finding out more than just the source of the uprising, but the source of his existence.
At first glance this book may look like an sci-fi novel about vampires and those they feed upon in a dystopian future, but it's so much more. Those who know anything about the author Miguel Connor might happen to know (even though he may be too humble to admit) that he is one of the leading voices speaking the gospel of a spiritual movement called gnosticism. This story is entertaining and quite a page turner. Miguel shares in this story some of the wisdom he has learned and the story is filled with gems of pure wakefulness. As you read of a poor cursed soul in a tale of deep truths and the truest love the Curse that gets removed may be your own. If you are an avid reader and also enjoy the language of symbolism this book may be a welcome addition to your collection . I keenly look forward to reading the next in the series.
I read the book in two days.. at first i was thrown at how it started..After i got use to the wording and how and when the time setting of the piece was written i had to finish it..Over all it was well written and attention getting.. It gave a new twist on vampires and they way that our lives could change if they really existed.. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends. and others that love vampires.. If you love Ann Rice or more modern authors i have a feeling you will enjoy stargazer as much as i have.
Although the premise was a good one (a good vampire looking out for the humans), it became too slow and plodding for me. The habitual use of Capital Letters got annoying, and the obvious typos were frustrating - which didn't really encourage me to go on. I may try again another time.
I tried, I really tried. There were a distractingly high number of spelling and grammar problems, and I found I just didn't care about the main character enough to persevere. Maybe I'll try again another day and see if I can get a bit farther.
