P. J. Hoover first fell in love with Greek mythology in sixth grade thanks to the book Mythology by Edith Hamilton. After a fifteen year bout as an electrical engineer designing computer chips for a living, P. J. decided to take her own stab at mythology and started writing books for kids and teens. P. J. is a member of THE TEXAS SWEETHEARTS & SCOUNDRELS. When not writing, P. J. spends time with her husband and two kids and enjoys practicing Kung Fu, solving Rubik's cubes, and watching Star Trek.
We went to a local kids' comicon and met Ms. Hoover in person, which was awesome. I let our 10-year-old pick a book from her table and he chose this one. I'm not surprised because as much as he loves to read other people's stories, he's even more driven to create his own (in one form or another). He read through this book, hopped on Google Slides, and immediately planned out his own interactive adventure mini-book, which he wrote up, paid his little sister to ink (with a Dum Dum 😆), and then took it to school to share and teach other kids how to plan out and make interactive adventure stories. So fun! I just read this book myself and it's a great explanation of the process at a kid's level and it manages to present the information in a fun way. I highly recommend this book for any creative bookmakers out there.
