Their styles and even their subjects are very different and will reward closer study and contemplation. Nevertheless, they are united by what John Wood calls a belief in the "miracle of the day". "I'm looking for a poetry of the ordinary, the mysteries of the human spirit. I'm trying to create a dialogue with life, to learn what being human is all about" (Keith Carter) .
