Noticing that most of the reviews for this book are low, being skeptical is normal. However, this little short story was a surprise. In the first few pages the reader my be confused about what the pulsing that the character is feeling, but it morphs into something much more. I enjoyed certain aspects of this short story, especially the end. I think it would have been a good premise for a novel as well.
It goes to show you no matter how bad something can get rated , always give it a try, you might be surprised at what you will find.
This book was a little disappointing to me. I love the authors other work, but this one fall short for sure. For some reason, the main character is infected with a mind altering "being" and passes the disease on to children. Now, this is only from what I gather from the book; I could be totally wrong. But, I there was not enough information for me to get a real feel for this book :-( The horror scenes were well done and I loved them.
