“They should have left that thing in the desert, where they found it.”

Cool cover. Very creepy.

As Kep regains consciousness, he finds himself in a sterile-looking room with white walls. He is covered in electrodes, and he is bound.

Two men are speaking. Then a female physician comes in and begins to explain the lay of the land.

Going back, Kepowski was a truck driver. He transported materials from Point A to Point B.

After a particularly long day of driving, Kep goes home to the crowded apartment complex where he lives. But the pulse accompanies him.

Bizarre feelings and sensations, driven by the pulse. Strange thoughts, too.

Tag, Penny, and Kendra all appear. The pillow…Tommy, Carmen, the other children…and back to the lab.

Mysterious and sinister and scary.

Noticing that most of the reviews for this book are low, being skeptical is normal. However, this little short story was a surprise. In the first few pages the reader my be confused about what the pulsing that the character is feeling, but it morphs into something much more. I enjoyed certain aspects of this short story, especially the end. I think it would have been a good premise for a novel as well.

It goes to show you no matter how bad something can get rated , always give it a try, you might be surprised at what you will find.

This book was a little disappointing to me. I love the authors other work, but this one fall short for sure. For some reason, the main character is infected with a mind altering "being" and passes the disease on to children. Now, this is only from what I gather from the book; I could be totally wrong. But, I there was not enough information for me to get a real feel for this book :-( The horror scenes were well done and I loved them.
