Cute, simple illustrations with easy, repetitive sentences for a level 1 reader. On a snowy day, the forest animals work together to gather items to build something. Most kids will probably figure out before it's finished that they're building a snowman. They actually build quite a good snowman too!

My kindergartener wanted to read this every night for quite a while. It's cute and a perfect short book for winter. I recommend reading "Stranger in the Woods" too as a way to compare and contrast two similar but different stories.

One snowy day is a perfect book to show team work. All of the animals in the forest come together and do their own jobs to help make a snow man and at the end they have a new friend (the snow man) and all have hot chocolate together.
This book is a cute and fun way to show team work and also to read out loud to the students after it snows. After reading this they could build their own snow mans out of cottons balls or construction paper.

This book was an easy to read book (level 1) for PreK-1st grade!

An early reader. Simple straight-forward sentences. A variety of nouns and verbs which are supported by clear art. A group of animals assembles the decorations to build a snowman.

This was a fabulous level 1 storybook. I read it out loud to my adult special needs son and we enjoyed the wonderful illustrations, after a few pages I would ask him "What do you think they are building?" And so each page would 'build' up to a group of wildlife animal friends working together to build a new friend a snow man. The story itself was sweet but like I said you can use it to have your little one 'guess' what is being built as the story unfolds.

This is a fun story about a bunch of animals cooperating to have a fun day outside in the snow. Together, they make a snowman and drink hot chocolate. The narrative is simple and the illustrations are cartoonish and complement the story nicely. Our oldest read this aloud to us and we enjoyed reading the story together.

This is a great story because it reinforces the concept of working together to make something and having fun doing it. The author has good illustrations of the animals in the story and the book is very easy to read. In the classroom, teachers could use this book to teach team work and putting equal amounts of effort into creating something.
