When The War Is Over
In occupied Holland during World War II, sixteen-year-old Janke Visser watches her fatherís and brotherís involvement with the Resistance movement in their small town and longs to help fight the Nazi invaders. But there is tension in the family as her nervous mother fears that their actions will doom them all. Nevertheless, when the opportunity to become a courier for the Resistance presents itself, Janke welcomes it. The danger provides some relief from the harsh realities of war-time life. As living conditions deteriorate and her missions become ever more perilous, it is her hatred of the Nazis that fuels the courage and determination Janke needs to go on. And then she meets Helmut, a young German soldier who doesnít fit the stereotype she has learned to hate so fiercely. Now suddenly she must deal with confusing new feelings for the enemy. 9 books9 followersI was born on a dairy farm in Friesland, a northern province in the Netherlands. I loved horse back riding and dressing up in a traditional Frisian costume. When I grew up I became a kindergarten teacher.
In 1981, I moved with husband, Albert, and our three children to Canada. We settled in North Bay, Ontario.
The English language was new to me. To learn this new language I went to university to obtain my B.A. and B.Ed. In 1987 I became a kindergarten teacher for the second time. I started writing in the English language and with the encouragement of my writing friends at the North Bay Writers' Club, I started submitting stories to publishers.
After many years and many rejection letters, my first novel, 'A Time to Choose' was accepted by Orca Book Publishers, and launched in the fall of 1995. It was a dream come true and the beginning of a wonderful rewarding writing career.

This is by far THE BEST book I've ever read in my life! My all time favorite book!(:

it was not that romantic as I thought it would be like every other romance book that I have read
