I had the opportunity to sit in a panel discussion at IndieLove 2019 where this author was speaking. I'd never heard of him but was intrigued by his commentary. I was already over budget but put him on my to be read list... then he said those magic words, "I'll give you a free book!" We all live free 99, right? I hobbled over to his table and got my book.

I finally started plowing through the books I got. This was the second of the books I got. While different, I LOVED THIS BOOK! I feel like I know Carmen, Nick, Rain, Marcus and Wanda but, Mike Black, he is my dude.

This book was written in 2010 so I'm sure his craft has gotten even better. The errors were not like what are you saying but more like an oversight. For instance, "she is died" instead of she is dead. I have no problem making the investment in his work. I like the bang, bang shoot em up, lol. Although I hated the end. I was like what? I checked to see if some pages fell out the book, lol!
