Well, it's the Bible. So...five stars & I learned a lot. Seriously, I love this Bible- it's got ridiculous notes in it from Mr. Dake, who is widely acclaimed in Christian circles for the scholarship he's done. Occasionally he's quite opinionated, infrequently he espouses an idea and seems to give insufficient evidence to wholly convince me of his point, and he's not a fan of interracial marriage based apparently on it being outlawed in Jewish law, but these ornery moments are few & far between. A wonderful resource for laypeople & preachers- he really lays everything out for you. I don't look at too many other Bibles, as I'm very biased toward this one-my dad also owned one-but I doubt you'll find one more informative.

Danger, Will Robinson, danger.

Many years ago, I was gifted this Bible. I kept it for about 10 years. I eventually got rid of it due to my disagreement with Dake's doctrine.

Worse yet, about two years ago, I learned the following:
1. Dake is incredibly racist.

2. Dake is a straight-up pedophile.

Run fast, run far, from the twisted version of the Bible.

This book has so many references and in-depth study from Hebraic and Greek translation. This is the Bible to own.

I have many theological differences with Dake, but I won't focus on those. Some of the lists are extremely helpful. Overall the format of the study notes are an absolute mess and makes it difficult to relocate something you happened to be reading. I read this Bible as a kid through many a sermon and Dake certainly marched to the beat of his own drum.

Don't have enough words to do this Bible justice -- I started using this when I was first licensed over 10 years ago. No minister, pastor or Biblical scholar should be without it!
