Six months ago, Corinne rescued Mike in an alley. He's seeking redemption for his past, something she admires. Now, she's fallen for him, but doesn't want to risk their friendship, and to complicate it all, he's hung up on his ex, Bethany. When Mike's old boss, Bethany's father, calls him in for a job, Corinne knows she has to let him go and face her again, even if it means she loses him for good. Will Mike make his way back, or stay stuck in the past?
This 15,000-word contemporary romance novella was previously titled "Comfort: Special Edition" before the rewrite. CSE bundled C 1, 2, and 3 in one book.
This was a free Novella I downloaded to my iPod. I am slightly confused since the Novella I downloaded was called "Comfort" and supposedly "In Her Tender Care" is the new title of it - but the description I read for this doesn't match the Novella I downloaded. Hmmm. Confusing.
SO - The story I read was about an ER Doctor named Corinne. She is not getting attention from the man she wants (Mike) so she slams a couple drinks and then asks a cute college nerd who practically has a sign over his head that says "VIRGIN" out of the bar crowd and asks him to dance and later takes him home.
The story could be developed a little more. I know it is supposed to be short - but it hints at grand things and all it really delivers is a happy little sex scene. It was ok. Happy I didn't pay for it though.
This book left me feeling a little lost. It is about a female doctor name Corinne, who meets a guy named Mike one evening after he has been badly hurt. She takes him home and doctor's him and they become fast friends.
This is where the book gets confusing for me. Corinne, who realizes that she has fallen for Mike, and is afraid of losing her best friend, hooks (yes I mean a sexual hook-up) up with a young college student at a party that Mike is having for his younger sister. This scene is a little to weird for me and it feels out of place or basically is not necessary.
It is from that point that I kind of lose interest in the book, and feel like the relationship with Mike and Corinne is put in fast gear and it just doesn't flow naturally for me.
