Schattig

Tijn het konijn is klein en pluizig en iedereen vindt hem schattig. Maar Tijn wil niet schattig zijn! Hij besluit er iets aan te doen. Hij oefent in boos kijken en stoer lopen en koopt een gave zonnebril. Met een ring door zijn oor en een tattoo op zijn arm scheurt hij door de straten op zijn lawaaierige motor. Dan steekt Truuske over. Tijn vindt haar lief, maar zij vindt hem een engerd. Snel legt hij al zijn stoere spullen af en rent haar verliefd achterna. Samen zijn ze dolgelukkig en in de lente worden hun kleine konijntjes geboren. Maar of die ook zo schattig zijn?

"Oma is dat batman op het plaatje of een piraat?" vroeg mijn kleinzoon mij bij het zien van de cover. Dat sprak dus al tot de verbeelding. Het verhaal en de prenten vonden ze ook mooi.

Toby is a cute rabbit, but he's getting tired of his reputation and wants to something rebellious... That is, until he meets a nice girl.

Has a European flair at the end when Toby and the girl have some naughty rabbit babies, but overall is a... Cute... Story about trying to find out who you really are. The illustrations are simple, but charming.

Sometimes kids just get tired of being called cute all the time and Toby decides to try and rid himself of the persona by becoming a tough looking kid until he meets a "cute girl" bunny. Oops, now what? Most times, it's best to just be yourself.
