This book is nothing but an infomercial for NuSkin. 130 pages of shameless self-promotion by the author to sell his products.

I picked this up from my library in the non-fiction section thinking it would be about the science of aging and health. But you will find little actual information on how to look and feel better other than to buy the author's product from NuSkin. On the very last page he lists nine points, all universally known, that will help you live a younger, healthier life: Be happy, exercise, eat a variety of foods, bond with people, read, manage stress, keep busy. Duh.

I rarely write one-star reviews as I usually stop reading when a book is this awful. But since there was so little content I was able to read it in just over an hour. Don't waste your money. This book should be given away as a marketing tool. I hope my library got this copy for free!

To be honest, this book is basically an infomercial in print. It's mainly a self-promotional tool for his company and its affiliation with NuSkin (I think that's the product). He sprinkles in info that most already know about being healthy -- eat right, exercise, keep your brain sharp, etc, etc. I must say I was disappointed -- not that I was expecting any revolutionary anti-aging advice, but I certainly wasn't expecting a 203 page advertisement either. Would I try the product? Maybe, if I ran across it (would not search for it) and if it's reasonably priced.

Not what I expected. Didn't even finish because it seemed like advertising. I would guess it was self published.

Let me save you time and money: This WHOLE book is a scam. So avoid it like a plague of zombies.

Awful, agonizing 200 pages of infomercials about a skin care brand, written like a sleazy salesman trying to con your grandma out of her savings. Makes me sick!

It claims that it's based on science, but you'll get more science from watching a sleeping monkey fall from a tree than anything out of this book. References? None. What is the science behind it? Nothing, just go buy our awesome cancer-curing, earth shattering, orgasm inducing skin care and you'll step out looking like a fetus.

"AgeLoc is the best, but we can't tell you why because it's a SECRET"... Ooooo! Sounds almost like the KFC secret recipe! Snake oil anyone?

The gist of nearly every chapter is "go buy ageLoc" from a (pyramid scheme) multi level marketing company called NuSkin. Shame on you NuSkin! Go force your sheeple to buy this crap, not the general public by disguising this coprolite as a book on how to reverse general aging. This is NOT A BOOK!! It's a bloody commercial! This is how you get 1 star reviews.

I've never been so pissed off after reading a book. Nothing ticks me off more than paying, then be unknowingly sold to.

For those who are curious about buying ageLoc, here's some interesting info:
Experts in the science of aging deride NuSkin’s claims. “If someone tells you they know what the mechanism of aging is, they are trying to kid you,” says University of Michigan Medical School professor Richard Miller, who heads a team evaluating anti-aging drugs and nutritional supplements for the National Institute on Aging... (Nu Skin was forced to remove references to a “collaboration” with a Stanford professor after he protested; he calls its ageLOC claims “science fiction.”) – Source Fortune.com

Oh and for the distributors who were asked to read this book by your "uplines" and probably asked to rate this book with 5 stars, I'm here to save you time AND from being brainwashed/scammed:

NuSkin has a long history of using deceptive claims to sell their products and recruit new distributors.

• In 1992, Nu Skin reached settlements with 5 states which had accused the company of deceptive advertising and overstating the income earned by distributors. – Source Deseretnews.com

• In 1994, following an investigation by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the company paid $1 million and signed a consent decree prohibiting it from making deceptive or unsubstantiated claims about its products. – Source FTC

• In 1997, the company paid an additional $1.5 million to the FTC to settle ongoing allegations of unsubstantiated promotional claims. – Source FTC

• In 2012. Nu Skin was exposed for double-listing distributors in the United States Million Dollar Circle to make it appear there were more successful distributors then there actually was. – Source Diederikvannederveen.com

• In 2014, China fined NU Skin Enterprises, Inc. more than $500,000 for illegal product sales and misleading local consumers. – Source Reuters

• Nearly 30% of Nu Skin’s total revenue over the last year came from China, up from 10% a year earlier. Without Mainland China growth, Nu Skin’s revenue growth would have been negative on a year-over-year basis. – Source Forbes

Now that's messed up. Why would you want to be associated with such a dodgy company?

Is the skin care any good?
They are pretty average. Check out their ingredients online and compare the ingredient list with other brands. What punters are paying for is average products with exorbitant prices to boost the wealth of the owners. The distributors hardly make any money. Imagine that... an army of brainwashed sales people who work for you for peanuts and you don't even need to provide any healthcare benefits or income to them! The owners must be laughing their butts off to the Ferrari dealership.

PS. One of the owners Sandie Tillotson was a multi-millionaire when she cofounded NuSkin. She made her millions with the Cambridge Diet, another multi level marketing company that started out of Southern California and went bankrupt. – Source Deseretnews.com

Thank you Ethan Vanderbuilt for his research into NuSkin's dark past!

This startling book amazed me and my wife by showing us that Dr. Joseph Chang and a team of scientists have found what causes aging and how to reverse it.

Dr. Chang explains in depth how certain products available now can help you enhance your body's built-in rejuvenation mechanisms.
Every day my wife and I are using the products he developed and are achieving results we can see and feel.

31/2 stars maybe. Marketing campaign from NuSkin for AgeLOC products. The author started Pharmanex now owned by NuSkin as he researched ways to reset your genes as you age. Not much technical information as to how the products work. I haven’t tried the AgeLOC Vitality (daily capsules) but have used the AgeLOC skin regime - Spa and Gels - for about 10 years. I can vouch that this works and friends and acquaintances remark on the radiance of my skin - no wrinkles for my age! I also have a fitness routine and am very active. I wear minimal makeup and certainly nothing but serum and skin moisturizer on my face. No horrible foundation makeups that older women insist on wearing which just makes them look older. They show up the crows feet and wrinkles more and gives a Barbie appearance.

I was benefited from the products for 2 years before discovered this book. I was impressed by how the products helped me reverse the ageing problems such as sagging skin, muscle loss, white hair, presbyopic and knee pain. I’m an engineer, this book helped me have a better understanding of the story and motivation behind the amazing epigenetic technology. It has changed my friends and family life, we are able to live young and age gracefully.

Though infomercial it may seem, it is New York Times' Best seller. I would recommend anyone who has no ideas of how people get aged with different rates. I love this book as the first book to de-mythify the aging process.
