Whoever said vacations were relaxing?

To say half-vampire, half-witch Ana Parker has boy trouble is putting it lightly—something her text messaging bill can attest to. Her rocker ex-boyfriend Nikolai is trying to heat things up again, and high school hockey star Mathew wants her to try out with him for the Renaissance Festival. At least her sort-of boyfriend Elias isn’t hounding her cell—considering the vampire knight is currently living in her basement.

Ever since her father banished Elias and Ana from the court of the Northern vampires, Ana has been trying to live a normal life. But when the Prince of the Southern Region vampires informs Ana that they’re on the brink of war and she accidentally offers up Elias as a peace offering, the princess knows that she’s going to need some help to get out of the situation.

With Ana’s boy drama meter hitting an all time high, summer in St. Paul is heating up for all the wrong reasons…

Spoilers

To avoid a vampire war, vampire princess Ana is forced to agree to an arranged marraige between her sort of boyfriend, Elias and a vampire from another faction. Ana is faced with more trouble when she finds out that her father and his vampires must hunt a witch every 20 years in order to survive. With the deadline for another witch hunt looming, Ana must find a way to save the vampires without having to sacrifice a witch.

-The storyline was boring and predictable, it was obvious from the start of the book what would happen. The only parts I found mildly entertaining were Ana's interactions with Thompson.

-Ana is such an idiot, she never thinks before she speaks, so she ends up saying the most stupidest things. Her constant whinging about her love life was beyond irritating - she had no less than 3 guys interested in her and she strang them all along. I hated that whenever Ana was with one guy she ended up thinking about one of her other guys - she just wanted it all and she didn't care who she hurt.
Ana had rubbish relationships with everyone, her parents, her friends and her 'boyfriends' - she expected everything from them but gave nothing in return. I was irritaed with how Ana just jumped to conclusions regarding her mum - instead of asking her mum what was going on she just came up with all sorts of rubbish.
I wasn't impressed with Ana's martyr-ish ways at the end when she offered to sacrifice her witch soul. I don't know why it was up to her to solve all of the vampire problems since she didn't even know she was a vampire until a year ago. I'm getting tired of the amount of YA heroines that risk their lives for people that don't deserve it just because it's the 'right thing to do'.

-I hope Elias isn't going to be Ana's HEA- he's weird, he's old, he's been in love too many times before with both men and women and he has more in common with Ana's mum than Ana. I would hate for them to end up together. Her love interests aren't all that great to be honest, Nik is a douche and a racist, Thompson the love interest that's most suited to her, used to bully her. She needs to find a new love interest and tell the other three, it's not happening.

-I liked Bea but I noticed that there were a few times where she was intentionally depicted in a very negative way just so Ana could seem more sensitive and deep in comparison.

-Ana's parents were annoying, her mum was insensitive, cruel and heartless - the dumb cow kept banging on about her hatred for vampires when her daughter was one, talk about stupid. Ana's dad was a douche, he tries to kill Ana then a couple of days later he's remorseful - it was just BS.

-The pop culture references were unnecessary - it didn't make Ana seem interesting, it just made her seem pretentious.

After three books there's hardly been any development, Ana's still a whiny brat and she's no closer to choosing a guy, the witches and vampires are still fighting and most of the characters have shown zero growth. The plot in each book are so similar to each other that the last 2 books were pretty much pointless. I'm not sure how many books are left in the series but if there's more than one, I probably won't continue with the series.

This is the last book in this series. It starts out with Elias still living in Ana's basement. One morning a prince, who is like Ana, comes to town. He says they are on the brink of war because Ana let his captain’s betrothed out of her agreement. And that someone must be offered to keep the two regions at peace. Ana makes a joke saying that all that she has to offer is Elias, and of course the prince thinks it a fine deal. She has to find a way to correct this, or at the very least make it OK.

Almost Everything is really focused on "The Hunt," and finding a way to have her vampires’ hunger to be able to be satisfied without a witch having to die. We also learn more about her vampire heritage and how things really apply to her. I also think Ana’s character has grown so much in this book and I am happy to see the choices she makes.

There is a lot of boy drama in this one. She now has a total of 3 boys vying for her love: Nikolai, Thompson aka Matthew & Elias. The story however is not focused on this, although she does choose who she wants to be with.

The vampires of her and her father’s region are slowly going mad with hunger since Ana has called off the hunt in the previous books. Her father is to the point where he is maddened with hunger. This is also affecting Ana and Elias as well. It is becoming a big problem and some of the witches are in the mindset of "let them all starve to death and be rid of them." So, Ana and Nikolai come up with a plan to help with "the hunt” She finds a way that she thinks will enable the vampires to satisfy their hunger without a witch dying.

This book does not disappoint with the amount of action and intrigue. The story only takes place in a matter of days, and yet so much happens. As we all know, most series end. I truly felt the author did a wonderful job ending Ana's story. I really didn’t feel like screaming "I need more, I need more." I was also quite surprised and pleased at how everything, other than love interests, resolved.

The only thing in the entire book that bothered me is really who Ana ends up with. I think I didn't like who she chose to be with and was really expecting it to be different. This is the reason I gave it 4.5 stars. I guess the author left it vague for a reason. Ana is more than likely going to end up living for hundreds of years, so a lot can be left to the imagination. So that’s something.

This a wonderful ending to the series with all loose ends tied up nicely. No feeling at all like something was left unanswered. Enjoy!

Awesome read as always, kudos Ms. Hallaway. I wasn't aware that this is the last book so I had to edit my original review. I'm sad that it had to end so quickly, I was left hanging and aching for more. I wanted to find out more on when Elias' return and will he stake his claim finally w/Ana. I want to see if her parents will eventually be friends especially now that they are living under one roof. I want to find out if and when Mat's relationship w/Ana ends will Nikolai make his move again since knowing that Ana is now the Queen. Sigh... There's just so much more to go on and I'm just a bit disappointed that this is the last book.

Almost Everything picks up where Almost Final Curtain left off. ana has to contend with her conflicting worlds of vampires and witches, all while trying to figure out which of her many guys she wants to be with. Should she pick Nik the uber sexy rock 'n' roll witch, the chivalrous vampire living in her basement Elias, or the former enemy jock turned theatre buddy Thompson? By the end of the story I still hadn't decided who I wanted her to be with. Some people might say that three guys liking her is a little excessive and it kind of is, but I liked it. This installment was more action packed and drama filled than the previous one. The ever present dilemma that Ana and her friends have to solve was heavier and more life threatening than usual. She grew as a character and come into her own person in Almost Everything. Another side of her mom, dad, Thompson, Nik, and especially Elias is shown. Readers are able to learn a lot more about the background of Elias and Thompson as well as getting a taste of other vampire colonies ( is that the right word?). I loved how Tate continued to build this extremely unique take on vampires and witches.
There isn't really anything I wish was different with the book. I just wish that Bea had been more present. There's just something about her bitchiness that makes her a favorite. Lastly, lets talk about the cover. What happened? The first two were so pretty with the white backgrounds and contrasting clothes and hair. This one is definitely not my favorite. Not only does it not look the same they don't even have the same textures. Maybe I'm just picky, but I'm upset they don't match.
I am a huge fan of Tate Hallaway and a huge fan of this series. All I can say is that PLEASE let there be a fourth book. With the ending I'm not sure if there is or isn't.

a Good novel, fun and entertaining.

The one thing though is that the love situation does NOT get handled. It's more like put on pause/hold than anything seious. She doesn't even really make the choice, more like it's made for her and for that i wish for another novel to please tell me what happens.

My opinion of her Love Interest-

Nik: he's hot and mostly caring but other than some serious attraction and a common backround i'm not really seeing how these two work with one another. He seems a bit controlling and doesn't deal well with pressure. Not exactly sweetheart material but good to have on your side in a fight. Otherwise eh... Not seeing long term here.

Mathew Thompson: Deffinite sweethear/gentleman/southern type. I think of all three men he has the highest chance of understanding her moods and the like. I think given time Ana and him would really click, IF he wasn't flat-out human. Shame really. Because he is human there are just things he would not understand nor get and because of the position that Ana is in; it woudn't work out long term despite his caring personality. Plus she would age alot slower than him.

Elias: Super protective, and wish-washes between being attentive and not. Ana can't seem to accept all aspects of his past and they don't really seem to have time to chat about their emotions. Ana doesn't seem to get him really, and maybe vice-versa. But he is a vampire so they would have time to get out the kinks of a realtionship. Also they are blood bonded so they would get eachother on a physical level.

Overall they are all great catches.

Ana on the other hand is eh lol :)
I find her and her decision making process mildly annoying, but still the annoyances are spread out. and the action and drama were great. As was most of the dialoge and character interaction.

Well, normally, I'd give these types of books a 1. Or not rate it at all.

BUT. She mentions yaoi, so I decided to be nice. (Note: if you don't know what yaoi is, I honestly suggest it. I mean, if you're an anime/manga fangirl, then yaoi is AMAZING).

I enjoyed this one but was surprised by the direction the author took the romance in. Not disappointed - just surprised. I am hoping there will be another book in the series as it seemed quite unfinished and up in the air - what with Elias

Yep, so there's still the love square situation happening. Plus, as an added bonus, there's a new vamp prince whose come all the way from the south too annoy Ana. ooh, ooh, and all the vampires are starving! you know, cuz Ana stopped their ceremonial hunt twice now. makes them kinda hungry.

also, here's a sneak peek: I felt most comfortable with people who made obscure references to Star Wars movies or Lord of the Rings books, and people who got excited at the idea of a new Doctor Who episodes and extra work in precalculus-- in other words, nerds.

Oh, no! if all that's true, that makes me exactly HALF a nerd! and hear I always thought I was a full nerd. silly me.

yeah, so, anyways, with the vamps starving, Ana once again must pull a Plan that will solve everything and some bad-ass magic out of her butt and save the day. which she does.
unfortunately, not everyone got the memo, so someone ends up dying. :(

also, the boy sitch seems to round itself out rather neatly. Elias has to go and get 'married' (note the quotations) to some dude and has to go away for a while, but he promises (rather swoon-worthily, if you ask me) that his heart is Ana's and he will return for her because their blood bond is forever *serious Fangirling* Nik promises to wait until she's bored with her mortal, which I thought was callous and insensitive and like he thinks he's superior and all-around jerk-tastic of him *hissing in anger* and in the meanwhile, she has Thompson, who is generally awesome.
yep. and again, this is what I call a good ending. All the loose ends have been pretty much tied up, so we, the reader, can have closure, yet there's enough left over plot that we can hold out hope for another book in the series.
If Gena Showalter is reading this, YOU DIDN'T DO THAT WITH TWISTED!!!!!
Again, sorry to everyone else, I'm really sorry because I shouldn't be using every book review I do to complain about that, but I can't help it. Twisted just did not... you know what? I'm not even going to mention that book's name, but IT DID NOT END! it has what I call a non-ending, which is when the author THINKS she's ended, but she really actually didn't do anything.
back to Almost Everything, Great book! yes. good series.
bye, now.

Loved this book, it was a great addition to the series! I am sad this is the last book though, I still have so many questions! This book definitely had a lot going on supernaturally and with the guys in Ana's life. She really doesn't get much of a break in this book and there are some events that I didn't see coming. There really isn't much more I can say regarding the plot because I don't want to give anything away.

Ana is a fun character and I really like her. Although I don't think I would want to have to deal with 3 guys. But she is a smart girl and has some great plans. As for the guys I can honestly say that I like all of them and I can see why Ana is having a tough time. Elias is older and more gentlemanly, but he is fiercely protective of Ana. There is a great moment between the two of them in this book. I also found the blood tie to be really interesting. Nickolai kind of makes me mad sometimes because of the whole enemies type thing. I do think he is really sweet though and there are some great moments between him & Ana in the book. Then there is Thompson, the mundane, who is actually pretty great as well. He is normal and just wants to do normal things with Ana, which I think is adorable. He also takes her reveals pretty well. There were a lot of moments that I loved in the book that involved Thompson. This being the last book in the series kind of left things just floating, so I guess I will be left wondering.

I have really enjoyed this series and I totally recommend it!

My Thoughts: Another cute novel by Hallaway! I love this series so much!

We are back with Ana who you may remember from the previous two books. She’s part vampire/part witch. This sure does complicate things in her life! And we also are back with her awesome best friend and the two guys who she pines after. Elias and her ex-boyfriend Nik. Both are still irresistible. But, there is also a new guy in the picture. He goes to her school and his name is Thompson. He’s a sweet guy and he is very understanding.

There is a lot of plot in this one and I don’t want to expand too much. Its fun to learn all the ups and downs that are going down and how huge the plot is in this one. And it’s Ana’s responsibility (so she thinks) to find a reasonable solution to help everyone.

I really enjoyed this series! And, the ending. Well, I wanted things to end differently but you never know what could happen if their are more books.

I think this series is all about the characters for me. I love learning about them. I love experiencing things with them. And the plot keeps them on their toes.

Overall: I just overall love this series and I think this may have been my favorite one. I found myself laughing at things and smiling at how Ana reacts to things. I really love this series and the characters.

Cover: Love it! I always enjoy these covers. They are simple but neat!

Ana and Elias are getting used to being exiled from her father's court but that doesn't mean the vampires are through with them. Ana is visited by the Prince of the Southern Region who needs to form an alliance or they will need to go to war. Inadvertently, Ana offers Elias and is surprised when her offer is accepted. But before she loses her vampire boyfriend they have to deal with vampires who need to hunt and can only be satisfied by hunting a witch. In the Southern Region, the witch queen willingly sacrifices herself which won't do for Ana since the witch queen is her mother. In other regions, a lottery is used to pick the witch who will be sacrificed. Ana wants to find a way to satisfy the hunt without anyone having to die.

While trying to find a way to change the hunt, Ana is still juggling three potential love interests. Elias was her vampire betrothed until her father exiled both of them. Even with the betrothal ended the two still have a blood bond. Nik is her witch/rock star boyfriend who happens to be in training to become a vampire hunter. Then there is Matt Thompson who is mundane and who shares her interest in acting. Ana would so like to be normal that Thompson appeals to her even though she can't share her secrets and the two don't have much in common.

I love the humor in this series and Ana makes a great main character. The book is action-packed and engaging.

Almost Everything...A Vampire Princess Novel
By
Tate Hallaway

My "in a nutshell" summary...

Ana Parker...half witch, half vampire...and the funniest heroine ever...is in trouble yet again!

My thoughts after reading this book...

Anastasia...is the most lovable freak accident prone dhampyr ever! I so love this series. Ana is such a sassy spunky character and the premise is quite believable. Vampires and witches live in Minnesota...they know each other exists and some humans know they exist...including Ana's newest boyfriend. Ana's mom is the queen of the witches...Ana the Vampire Princess...and lots of problems and issues seem to surround both of them.

This time Ana has to come up with a solution to the vampires bloodthirsty chilling hunt...and what she comes up with makes for an intense part of this novel.

What I loved about this book...

I love the characters...their subtle humor and personalities. I loved Ana's dating issues. I adore Elias...the vampire who lives in her basement and was blood bound to Ana.

What I did not love...

Hmmm...this book did not have a dull moment...so the answer to this self imposed question is not one thing.

Final thoughts...

Everything about this book was fun and exciting. Even the scary bits are in perspective and a necessary part of this book. This is the third book in this uniquely fun series!

POSSIBLE SPOILER!

Quite the story. This story ended perfectly with not cliffhanger, which makes me happy. It was insane what happened in the end to Ana, and yet amazing at the same time. She found love, and happiness, and also power over much she did not expect. I am glad the the story ended with her happy, because she deserved it. She got to stay the way she was meant to be, which was my favorite part. For some reason I just didn't want Ana to loose her witch half, and just keep her vampire half, I wanted her to have both, because it seemed just right for her character. The author of this story has created such an amazing story, that can make you really feel feelings for the characters, and that is good writing. I was able to be angry at some, and found myself yelling at Ana's father, because I felt very passionate about Ana's character. I loved Ana, despite some of the crazy things she did I just couldn't give up on her story, because she was fascinating, an very fun to walk along side with. Yep, that is what I said, I walked along side her. I felt like me and Ana could be best friends. There is so much I liked about this series. This series helped pull me out of a severe depression, and that is awesome. I would like to let the author know she did one heck of a job on this whole series.

Excellent end to the trilogy, a different take on witches and vampires along with teenage angst. The sixteen year old heroine must decide who she wants to be, due to her witch mother and vampire father, she is locked in a battle between both sides of her heritage.

This trilogy is one solid ya paranormal/uf with surprisingly good solution to the love triangle-turned-quadrangle. I really enojed it, both as book and as ending to the series, even if i wish we got more things explained.

I just really liked the whole fantasy part, with vampires (of quite interesting origin) who are more like "elves from hell" and witches living in covens (which somehow isn't that not as emphasized in uf) who actually made vampires their slaves for centuries (and didn't really stop) - which definitely doesnt make me root for witches! - but as usual, i would love to get more and more magic/blood -well, fantasy stuff - being useful for MC.

So, romance may not be the most important thing, compared to our teenage heroine making sure her two sides of family/species don't kill each other off. But! When you get half-witch, half-vampire being courted and blood bonded - again, we didn;t get enough of that bond! - by an ancient vampire warrior (who's the sweetest puddin' ever, with his "My lady this" and "My lady that" *swoons*) with her ex being a vampire-hunting (male) witch-rock-star (let's just say i was glad the broke up in book two) and then, even before Elias gets , she ends up - or just decides to date for now - and for whom i was absolutely rooting for, since he reminded me of a book character, quite alike him, who did not get his HEA.

(so much for romance not being the most important. it took over most of the review!)

Well, I like how a little thing from book one, that i thought was my wishful thinking, was absolutely valid not only in finale, but turns out in book two as well!

Life is hard when your parents don't teach you any survival skills, and especially hard when you are a vampire princess. Ana Parker's distinct lack of knowledge of anything vampire makes for fun reading in Tate Hallaway's third installment of the Vampire Princess series, "Almost Everything."
Ana Parker, raised by her witch mother to loathe vampires, finds herself endowed with vampiric rather than magical abilities. Having had no education in things undead, she finds herself adrift when negotiating with the Southern Region vampire king and mistakenly offers up her former fiance and vampire, Elias, to prevent a war. Her interference in vampire affairs has also created a situation in which her Father's tribe is starving to death, going crazy.

Rules
On the plus side of ignorance
She doesn't follow the rules.

surprises along the way...the supernatural hero types love Ana but have never taken her on a proper date. Elias, who is most constrained by rules of vampire culture is, in some ways, the most open minded in terms of gender roles, and contract work-arounds.

This book was really good, confusing at some parts but still very good. I have to admit it got confusing at some parts and a love square that's a really hard story line to gone but Tate Hallaway made it wrok. This book I have to is fast-paced but still amazing. It was as twist and turning like the first but it kept me reading. I really like this author has a more lose writing, she had a more adolescent writing I guess, and I guess that's just easier but funner to read. I also like how for her love square she doesn't lean to much on person. There's always that one person somebody likes but not this Elias, well I think Elias and Ana would be great, maybe a little weird but cute together. Thompson, is IDK, I do like him actually, but I don't get him. He isn't freaked out at all by Ana and he had this huge change from book one to book three which just throws me off balance so I'll have to decide on him for the next book. Nik I have to say in the third book him and Ana looked really good, in the second not so much. So yah I can't wait till the next book! Go Queen Ana!!

LOVED ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!! GREAT ending!!!! Loved Ana, loved Elias, even kind of loved Matt. SO glad this ended the way it did, even though not entirely the way I thought it would have...but besides that I thought it was FABULOUS!!!!! And such a great series!! I really loved it and while I am sad for this to be the end, I am glad too, because the ending was not so open ended that it's not fulfilling, but not so closed that there can never be anymore to the story, while the GREAT part is that Ana HAS made some decisions concerning all the men in her life. Not like super final ones, but still, some progress, which is FABULOUS. So, all in all, I loved this book and i LOVED this series. SUCH a great new take on vampires, and SUCH great characters (ELIAS)!! Glad to have such a great third book!!

I enjoyed this. Ana isn't a vampire or a witch, but half of both and she has some powers from each, but wants to protect both species even though they hate each other and warred for ages. Her love life, and excess of interested guys, continues.

Ana has interrupted the Hunt twice already, so when she discovers the vampires are hungry almost to the point of insanity she's determined to save them, but not by giving them a witch to kill. Interesting solution she came up with.

However, I didn't know until now that this is the end of the series, and with what happened at the end I feel like it got left hanging. So this rating is for the book itself, not for how the series got wrapped up.

This book was ridiculously awesome. I didn't think it would be as good as it was. Ana is one of my favorite YA paranormal characters. She's not perfect but she's selfless, kind and admit when she makes mistakes or is unsure. He'll she even admits that she was stringing along three boys. Speaking of the boys I hated Nik, was kind of indifferent and weirded out by Thompson and absolutely adored Elias. Her parents were very strong and caring in this book. The ending was a little open ended but I didn't mind too much. Great ending to a surprisingly good series.

It was a good end to the series, my favorite of all 3 of the books. Some very funny parts had me laughing out loud. Poor Ana seeing her dad in his birthday suit on more than one occasion and then seeing her ex-bethrothed getting married to a dude was just weird not to mention awkward. Even though by the end she still had all 3 dudes vying for her affections, kind of drives me a little batty that she didn't end up with one of them but at least that is better than her not picking anybody at all like another series i could mention but I won't.

I have to say I'm in love with the cover, so beautiful! The book was a bit disappointing. It was all about Ana and her boy problems. She dates with some human boy Thompson, and I thought there was no chemistry there. I didn't get the whole romance with him, it was kind of all of a sudden and just forced. Then there is Nick, the rocker, while I liked him in the first and the second book, I didn't like him in this book at all. He became shallow and pushy, like only he was good enough and not some human. And finally there is Elias.......

Ah, why isn't there a fourth book in this series? I need it... Or thicker books at least. I love the unusual love triangle with three guys; it's mostly two guys and a girl in books like these I have read so I appreciate this concept. I think Hallaway managed to combine witches and vampires well in the story, I got to know Ana's personal struggle and why she felt the way she felt. 5/5 stars for sure. Something else I liked about the series is that the author named a character Bea but she's not all that likeable at times; she can be a bit too much.

I was actually close to giving this 5 stars, but I really didn't like the ending. It was very, very sudden; the curse was lifted and everything was right in the world. Bah, humbug. And it ended on a very open note that is sure not to be closed since this is the last book in the series, and that is really friggin' annoying! But other than that I found it hard to put this book away and read in less than 3 hours - that must be a good thing.

I liked it a lot until I read the end. I have enjoyed the series and going in to this book I knew it was the final one. Which is why when I read the last page I kept looking for the next chapter. Nothing, and I mean nothing was resolved or had a definite end or decision. Ana could have a least picked one guy, I don't like to be forever wondering, even if it wouldn't be happily ever after for them. So I liked the series, but I really wish there was another book!

Again... this author has wrote a terrific book!! Loved this book!!, and soooo can not wait for the next one!!!

I love Ana, and really love Thompson (Matt)!!!!

I love how all the characters evolve and how Ana deals with all the craziness (dad, mom, Bea, Nik, Elias) and tries to make the normal part (school, acting and Matt) of her life important also.

Very enjoyable and fun read!!

nice, complete ending to the fun, lighthearted trilogy, altho I do wonder about some of the characters and what their future holds, maybe a spin off is in the future?

PS: I thought goodreads wasn't using Amazon's info any more - but the kindle summary here and at Amazon are incorrect for this title, the paperback info is correct
