I normally don’t put the books I read with my son on here, but since we just finished this for the second time, I thought I should include it. :) We read this every morning during breakfast and my toddler LOVES it. If I don’t pick up the book fast enough, he emphatically asks for it.

My only issue with this book is that I think it oversimplifies things sometimes (“holy tent” instead of “tabernacle” “holy box” instead of the “Ark of the Covenant” and “Jesus’ helpers” instead of “disciples”). This is a simple, colorful introduction for young toddlers, but I do plan to find something “deeper” when he’s a bit older. If anybody has any recs for good children’s story Bibles, please let me know!

Great intro to the Bible for toddlers. Bite sized, single page spread stories allowed me to read as much or as little as the kids could sit for.

Love this for young children! More than a board book, but not too wordy (for short attention spans)! The dvds that accompany this bible (I believe you can just look the bible stories up on youtube now) are also beautiful and simple. ❤

Creative Madness Mama reviews Read and Share Bible

One our of favorite gifts to give and receive this past Christmas is the Read and Share Bible from Tommy Nelson. There are several things that we love about this Bible. The imagery for one is great, soft and descriptive. My 18 month old loves to just lay on the floor and pour over the pages studying them. Another thing I love is that when you open it, it stays on the page you've opened to, which is great for a toddler that doesn't keeper her hands on it non stop. Then the best thing is that there are stories from the Bible here in this special Bible that you do not normally see in a Children's picture book Bible and that really excites me. We gave a copy of this Bible to my sister in law for her son who is four months younger than my daughter and her exclamation was the same that it was exciting to have some new and different stories that are not normally played up in picture book Bibles.

Easily I recommend this one!

*Thanks to Thomas Nelson for providing a copy for review.*

Thomas Nelson has created a children's Bible that has over 200 Bible accounts written in story format based on the International Children's Bible. The illustrations are bright and attention capturing while remaining accurate to Bible times.

Each Bible account/story includes a title, the passage it is taken from, easy-to-read text, and a thought provoking question at the end. I like the format and really have enjoyed using the questions to start good conversations with my 4 and 6-year-olds.

While, I personally would not use that as a Bible for my child, we do enjoy using it as a devotional book or for general reading. It is a good way to read Bible stories to young children ages 1 to 6.

In fact, this would have been a five-star review, but I find the illustrations a tad off-putting, as they seem cartoonish, considering the subjects. However, I would agree that a pre-schooler may feel differently about them!
