Fine when discussing the details of life in the postwar years. Not so good in later chapters when it makes grand statements about crime being worse and the EU bad, without offering real evidence.

Being born in 1951 I fond this book interesting until the mid to late 70's then less so.
I was reminded of some items I had either possessed or seen in my young days which I had completely forgotten about.
I think that because of the years the book covers different generations will find parts more interesting than others.

Very interesting read however, i was really looking forward to the 80's (when i was born) and i was quite dissapointed. Not really much was happening! The book started off on a positive attitude then after the 60's it all kinda went down hill.

The first section was interesting, but once the author had dealt with the sixties it got a bit boring.
