C'est un bon livre pour enfant, même si je sais que j'aurais détesté le lire plus jeune.
Ça nous en apprend plus sur une période de l'histoire qu'on a pas l'habitude de connaître.

A place and a period in its history that I knew very little about, it was interesting to read more about civil war Algeria. The plot is quite predictable from the blurb. What happens is sadly quite unremarkable and might as well take place during a different conflict in a different part of the world, if we just replaced the names of places, characters, and ideologies. This is not a problem for the book, but underlines how sad our world is.

I read an abridged version of this novel, adapted for German schools. Unfortunately, this took away a lot from the story and made it seem very "efficient" - not one word too much, little characterization of people or places, machine-gun like plot elements. Not exactly pleasurable to read, thus only three stars. The full version of novel may be more engaging.

Fue una historia muy triste :(

A pesar de que no me gustó que no terminara el problema en sí, se que es así como suceden las cosas en ese tipo de países... aunque no estoy muy segura de que país era, ya que no lo nombra, se que debe ser algún país islámico o musulmán y me pone triste darme cuenta de que realmente esas cosas pasan con muchos de los nativos allá y es por eso que son juzgados tan cruelmente cuando son ellos los que van a otros países (como la situación actual de los refugiados en Estados Unidos), pero en serio la historia es muy buena, y me gusta que a pesar de todo al final del camino hayan podido encontrar una pequeña luz de esperanza.

L’Oasis nous raconte l’histoire d’un jeune étudiant qui vit difficilement les attentats et la terreur des groupes extrémistes dans son pays. J’ai aimé, mais j’aurais voulu quelques chapitres de plus à ce roman.
